I am selling my 1979 MGB convertible. It has been a great car, everything works, right down to the fuel gauge. The car has a weber down draft carb, aluminum intake, and stainless steel exhaust. All four tires are new, the seats have been upgraded to leather. The rear brakes are new, brake shoes, and wheel cylinders. The clutch and master cylinder are new also.
The chrome wire wheels really set the look of the car off. I have had this car up to 100 mph and it was surprisingly stable.
The front valance, that can be unbolted from the car, is beat up, my plan was to buy a fiberglass chin spoiler. The car has the four speed with the electric overdrive, which makes it very versatile at todays freeway speeds. The car has been repainted it's original color and the clear coat could benefit from a wax job. The car has chips here and there, they show up really well in the pictures. I have been all over this car and there is absolutely no rust.
The top holds out the rain perfectly, but my dog chewed 3 inch long area on the inside of the passenger window inner overlap and not all the snaps work, so the top is not show car quality. One of the two factory fans in front of the radiator quit working, but I had put a big electric fan behind the radiator, so when it failed I was not stressed about fixing it, I have a replacement that comes with the car. The power brake booster, and rear shock mount should be replaced and come with the car. The car drives fine without these repairs and I have spent the last six months telling my wife that I need to change the brake booster and shock mount before I list the car for sale. Well I figured the car would be better of if I sold it before winter sets in.
The car runs and drives great, it was my daily driver for a long time until I bought a fox body 5.0 Mustang convertible with a supercharger, my wife was right, I lost interest in my little MG.
