Dependable 1977 MGB that I drive several
days a week to work (year-round) and many weekend trips to the mountains of
200+ miles. I am looking for the next steward of this car who is
interested in a rewarding hobby and will continue to enjoy it and take it to the
next level of completion. All systems are sorted and functioning well. The
direction of this car is to emulate the look of an early 60’s MGB rally racer. 14” Mini Lite style wheels, new 85-65-R14
General Altimax HP tires, balanced and fitted. New lowering springs, polyurethane
bushings front and rear are installed. After removing the rubber bumpers, a Moss
Motors front Sebring valance with air lip was fitted to be removable, as
opposed to permanently attaching it to the car. HID headlights with integrated
10-light LED amber turn signals and small button style amber LED front fender repeaters
added after shaving the large boxy ones. The front signal openings and rear
side markers were shaved and metal fillers were welded in. The Moss Sebring grille has been
fitted with stainless steel mesh to match the custom polished stainless mesh fitted
in the early style radiator grille. An aluminum front bonnet (hood) was purchased
and installed. The tail lights are new early MGB with super bright LED brake
and turn signal bulbs from Moss Motors along with welded fillers below the tail
lights. Included and ready to attach is a high quality Moorespeed hand laid
fiberglass rear Sebring valance with integrated recessed license plate. An
original early MGB factory hard top is included and is complete but needs
restoration. The head was shaved and completely
rebuilt with new valves, guides, hardened seats and finished with a three angle
valve job. An early cast iron exhaust manifold was installed and an early MGB
SU twin carb set-up was rebuilt and fitted along with a pair of conical K&N
air filters. Also installed a new re-curved Advanced Distributor, Tourist
Trophy polished Stainless Steel exhaust system, new radiator, gas tank and
brake master cylinder. Rebuilt front brake calipers with new pads and new rear
wheel cylinders, turned drums and new brake shoes. A high quality MOMO wood
steering wheel with aluminum spokes adds a nice steering feel and quality touch
to the interior. I have owned, modified and driven
MGB’s for 40+ years and this is the in-progress “grand finale” culmination of
my experience. I enjoy this car, but it is time to pass it on. Not really looking
for just a buyer, but an enthusiast to enjoy driving this strong running, solid
southern car while continuing the Sebring
transformation journey. This is virtually a rust free southern car (only one
very small spot on the rear driver’s side dog leg, see photo). All spare parts, owner’s
manual, and literature included in this sale. Extra parts include (2) engines
with attached 4 speed transmissions. I will be glad to answer any and all
questions concerning this car. Thanks for looking. |
