1974 Mgb Gt Chrome Bumper on 2040-cars
Wetumpka, Alabama, United States
At auction is a 1974 MGB GT. Last year for the desirable chrome bumpers. Car is very solid with very little rust. Appears to have spent most of its life in the south. Cranks instantly, runs smoothly with a nice exhaust tone, shifts smoothly and drives good. 50+ pounds of oil pressure at cold idle, 25-30 lbs. at operating temperature idle. New Parts: New Gas Tank and float assembly, new rear brake cylinders, rebuilt front brake calipers, new fuel pump (after-market type), new clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder, complete tune-up including valve adjustment, new plug wires and coil, rebuilt carburetors, new battery. What it needs: New paint. Paint is faded, chipped, and coming off. New rear bumper (see picture). New rubber boots for the rack and pinion unit. New tires. Interior will need refurbishing depending on how far you want to go with it. Front seats are not original and need recovering. Back seat is OK. Hood is dented where it appears to have been slammed against the safety catch. Sun roof glass panel is missing. There is a quarter-sized hole in one front fender where a mirror may have been mounted. This will be an easy restoration. I have done the dirty work. It has a few small rust pin holes in the trunk and floor pans. The worst spot is the passenger front fender which is rusted where it bolts to the car (see pictures). The rest of the car, floor pans, frame, sills, rockers, dog legs, all the places where MGs normally rust are very solid from what I can see. Please call Bill at 334-328-0638 if you have any questions or would like to come and look at the car. Actual mileage is unknown. Terms: 500 dollar non-refundable deposit is due into my Pay Pal account within 48 hours of the end of the auction. Balance is due at the time car is picked up. Buyer is responsible for cost of pick up and transportation. I have set a very reasonable reserve which not a lot more than the starting bid price. Car is sold with no warranty at all expressed or implied. Note: Thanks for looking. |
