1971 Mg Bgt Mgb Gt on 2040-cars
Springfield, Missouri, United States
selling the '71 mgb gt that I picked up about a month ago. I have decided I would rather put the money into my b roadster, midget and spitfire. when I bought it I drove it home 170 miles (3 hours at night) with no problem. starts very easily runs well. the previous owner had the wiring harness replaced by a brit car specialist in Columbia, MO (sean @ "the shop"). the previous owner replaced the steering column due to an ignition switch issue, but got the steering wheel upside down and the ignition lock is sticky. the car has had poorly repaired damage to both front fenders and a dent in the drivers side front door pillar. it woud appear the car used to have a/c in it and had to "clearance" the right inner fender and because of that, cut a hole above the r.f. shock to keep it from touching. it has a tube shock conversion in the rear, and the front suspension and brakes look like they have been gone through recently. the temp gauge and/or sensor needs attention - reads all the way hot when the engine is not overheating. the front seats are very nice. has rust in floors. would make someone a good drivable project. I may be able to deliver the car to you for a fee depending on your location and required time frames or you or your shipper can pick it up at my shop at your expense and discretion. |
