1968 MGB/GT British Racing Green If someone
were to ask an MG enthusiast to describe the dream MGB, he or she would
probably say, “A pre-rubber bumper car with twin carburetors, chrome grille, in
a GT configuration. (GT means hatchback in MG parlance, and this model was
designed by Ferrari master, Pininfarina.) There’s one last item our enthusiast would add: “In British Racing Green, of course.” That’s what you’re looking at here. A rust-free example that received at $23k ground-up, bare metal restoration around 15 years ago and was properly cared for ever since. The floors are original (!), which reveals that this was never the subject of serious rust issues. The paint is excellent, as is the chrome. The interior is also beautiful, although it has some appropriate patina (no tears, rips, cracks, etc.) And it is in real leather; newer cars all came through with vinyl. The car runs and drives perfectly, and everything works down to the back-up lights. All gauges, lights, switches, etc. The engine is detailed; the undercarriage is spotless and rust-free… in reality, there is nothing to do to the car; it’s what is called “turn key”. So, if you’re looking for a practical sports car (you’d be surprised what you can carry in the rear section); with room for an occasional guest (there are four seats without spoiling the lines); that gets great mileage and is simple and easy to maintain; and is a car you won’t seeing coming and going, the MGB/GT is a great choice. No wonder they are so rapidly increasing in value. For more info or to make an offer please call: Michael at 631 553 5300.
