restoration, complete sheetmetal work, paint, complete engine rebuild.
Good tires, new top, original red tonneau cover. Old english white, red
interior. New seats (vinyl -- have original leather covers if
interested). Wire wheels, some extra parts. Non-overdrive. A few minor
non-working items: speedo, temp gauge. New battery. Very few miles on
since restoration. (unsure how many, but less than 5k). Some minor
paint scratches since restoration. Have more photos of restoration.
I believe I am the 2nd owner. New rockers, inner rocker support
panels, lower rear qtrs. Engine: new pistons/cam/lifters/crank
turned/ bearings/oilpump, etc. I don’t think I did any front
suspension work, has a few squeaks coming from there. Rear shocks were
new as of about 8? Years ago (replaced with newer style tube type
shocks. Have the old original lever ones though. Interior is for the
most part original, with original door panels, carpet and red vinyl
floor mats. I don’t believe that there are any red replacement mats
being made. Seats were done about 5 years ago with new vinyl kits from
VicBrit, new foams, new rubber spring support mats (not sure what those
are called). I still have original leather seat covers, although
pretty rough looking, and original steering wheel. Front tires are
practically new, rears are fair to good Michelins. New battery 2 years
ago. New starter solenoid a few years back.
Things that don’t work/need addressed:
Temp gauge is mechanical and fitting where it goes into the head doesn’t
seal, so it’s still all there, just disconnected. Fuel gauge seems
erratic. Speedo does not work. Turn indicator stalk was replaced with
aftermarket cheap one, which failed. Still have original one, just
needs the plastic ‘spring’, which used to be available, but not sure it
still is, unless there is one NOS somewhere. Brake lights—erratic –I
did replace sender, but perhaps just need bled? Original owner
installed a radio in the rear bulkhead, so there is a small cutout at
the top of bulkhead between pass compartment and trunk. We were
supposed to have fixed that during bodywork, but got overlooked, and ..
never got back to it. Original jack (in original bag) does not work –
not sure if somethings stripped out? Needs a good spare tire, have
several rims but, either worn splines, or loose spokes.
