This is a 1960 MGA 1500 Coupe. Chassis number HMK43/ 37258 with engine number 15GB/U/H/27353. Showing high compression engine Orient Red original color. . I went to North Carolina last week to pick up a new car trailer at the factory there and picked up some old cars along the way back. This 60 MGA came from an elderly longtime owner in North Carolina. I also got a 62 MGA 1622 he also owned. But passed on the 48 MGY he also had. All long time sitters. All long time owned by the same fellow. And alll were drivers for him in the day. When that day was I have no clue.Other than the inspection sticker on the windshield is dated 1979 ! He said the drivetrain on this Coupe had been gone thru right before storage. Right now the engine does not turn over. The oil in there looks good. It needs to be pickled and hopefully will free up. Other than the cloth covered seats, this is a pretty original complete car. And pretty rustfree. Good frame, not bad rockers and doglegs, excellent trunk floor, nice lower fenders. He said a tree branch fell on the rear right. Dented the fender and broke the rear glass. Must of been awhile ago as his insurance had a MG shop replace the glass with factory replacements. Try that today. I have another rear fender I am throwing in to replace the dented split one on there now. And will throw another hood and hinges in as this one has no hinges and is held down by screws. Other than that the body is pretty straight and solid. The paint is pretty bad and will come off in a good rainstorm, let alone with a pressure washer. As I found out yesterday washing the decades of dirt off.After the dirt flew off next came sheets of light paint. I stopped. But it will not take much to get this body down to bare metal for repaint. The windshield is cracked on the passenger side.These Coupes are not for everyone. But they sure are neat. And actually have a higher top speed than Roadsters. This will be a great one to restore. Hard to beat these old MGAs for ease of maintenance,parts supply and all around great value. Especially one as rustfree,solid and original as this one.This is no showroom MGA, or even close. Just a straight honest original well maintained old MG with plenty of life left. Has a straight clean title and is ready to go. Full payment must be received within 7 days of auction end. Pick up here in Prescott,Arizona is encouraged. And I get around the country with my truck and trailer and might be able to get it to you or close for reasonable money.. Storage till pick up is no problem.And I can help arrange overseas transport no problem.
