Taylors, South Carolina, United States
I restored this car in 2000 to be a weekend driver, so the car does not have a roof or side curtains, however I do have the convertible roof frame that is included. Does have a tonneau cover as seen in one picture. The engine was machined by our local NAPA machine shop which I reassembled. The car has about 2,800 miles since being placed back on the road. The transmission drives good, but the second gear synchronizer is starting to wear so you get some gear crunching. I have learned to double clutch to minimize this. I replaced the rear brake cylinders a few week ago as they were frozen, and the two front flexible lines to the disc brakes. The front brakes were locking up but I think the replacement hoses corrected this problem. I have driven the car around the neighborhood with no problems, however wanted the purchaser to be aware this may need further attention. Just replaced both carburator floats as one was cracked and no longer working, did both as a safety precaution. The seats are a leather kit from Moss, that I had professionally mounted since I have never done apolstery. The jack is not orginal, but will be included with the car. The car has been in a garage until about 3 years ago, then was moved outside when my wife got a convertible, but covered with an outdoor cover, also included. As I said this is a weekend driver that I did most of the restoration work, it is not a show car. I only drive it once or twice a year, so that is why some of the items above needed to be replaced. Looking for a new home that will drive and enjoy it on a more regular basis.
