I'm selling this classic for a friend. He purchased this MG in 1978 in Wichita, KS. A frame off restoration was performed in 1982-83. At that time the engine and transmission were rebuilt, along with other components. It has spent most of its life in the dryer climate of the western states. It had a couple of areas of rust that were professionally repaired. The longevity without re-occurrence attests to the quality of body work, etc. The front brakes were upgraded to disc brakes from an MGB. Original drum brake setup is included if desired. An electric fan and overflow tank was added. The car was painted again in 1992, as the original color, silvery blue, was faded and seemed dull. The current color is a red pearl. The upgraded "stayfast" canvas top and "stayfast" tonneau cover were installed. Both are in excellent condition. High quality side curtains are also included. Leather seats, carpet, dash, door panels, etc, are all in nice condition as well. Gauges, lights, etc all function as they should. The horn currently doesn't work?? Chrome is all nice and void of any rust, pits, dents, etc. The odometer registers 18,xxx which is a reflection of the miles since the rebuild in '83. This car has been garaged since ownership and driven on occasion. It starts readily and without hesitation. Shifts and stops smoothly, as it should. Tires are Michelin's with deep tread, but are older, something to consider. Spare tire is also a wire wheel. Wire wheels are steel and not chromed. Original engine hand crank is still with the car! Something worth mentioning, the car has been driven cross country, (12-1300 miles), more than a few times and has never had an issue. This car isn't a show quality car and was never meant to be. Still, it is very nice, reliable and a blast to drive. From being an occasional driver all its life, the under carriage has road grime, etc. The body has a few very light nicks, almost negligible. The paint is a little faded. The windshield has 2 small stars that should be repaired so they don't run. Serious buyers are welcome for an inspection with notice. Any inquires will be passed on to the owner. Reasonable start for a turn key classic.. Car is for sale locally unless a bid is placed..
