2009 - Lotus Exige on 2040-cars
Carson, California, United States
Burnt Orange Exige S 260 Sport. I am the third owner of the car and have pampered her. I bought her from a guy in San Diego who drover her to work and back. He bought it from an older guy in Houston, Texas. The paint is immaculate aside from a few small paint chips. No paintwork has been done other than the addition of a special UV clear coat applied to protect the carbon fiber. The title is clean with no accidents. The mileage on the car is 39,XXX, but the indicated is 24,XXX due to the instrument cluster having been replaced for failed gauges. There is a sticker on the door sill that states the mileage when the instrument cluster was changed. Mechanically in excellent shape and drives like new with all oil/fluids serviced regularly. The upgraded engine mounts add even more responsiveness and the LETSLA shift linkage increase shifter feel and precision greatly over stock. I lost the front two center caps at a recent track day and haven’t had the chance to pick up new ones. I removed the side vinyl “swoosh” because I don’t care for the look, but these can be easily reapplied if you want. Also, my camera has a few smudges on the lens so don’t worry there aren’t large sports all over the car!! Service: -Clutch delay valve removed -Instrument cluster replaced by PO at 14,682 miles due to gauge failure -Windshield replaced due to rock chip ~5,000 miles ago -MP62 supercharger replaced with new ~ 3,000 miles ago -Toyo R888 Tires -ATE racing brake fluid Upgrades: Sector 111 Shift Cables intercooler fans Intercooler heat shield Oil catch cans Toe link DSBrace kit -LETSLA Shift linkage Innovative Engine Mounts set of four Larini Club Sport Exhaust Lightweight rear diffuser Carbotech XP10/12 brake pads Special UV clear coat applied to protect carbon fiber Lotus Exige S car cover

Lotus will go public via SPAC with $5.4 billion valuation
Wed, Feb 1 2023Lotus Technology, the electric-car maker owned by Chinas Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., agreed to merge with a blank-check company in a transaction that values the combined entity at about $5.4 billion. L Catterton Asia Acquisition Corp. will combine with the EV making subsidiary of the British carmaking group that Geely acquired back in 2017, the two said in a statement Tuesday. The special purpose acquisition companys sponsor has ties to Bernard Arnault, the worlds richest man. Lotus Tech has been looking to go public since at least early last year. Management may have been encouraged by another luxury auto brands recent listing: Porsche AG pulled off Europes largest initial public offering in a decade when it debuted in Frankfurt in September. A week later, Porsche overtook Volkswagen AG as Europes most valuable automaker. Rather than go the IPO route, Lotus Tech will merge with a SPAC whose sponsor combined with the private equity operations of Arnaults luxury-goods powerhouse LVMH in 2016. LVMH is a passive minority investor in L Catterton, according to a spokeswoman. Arnault overtook Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk as the worlds richest man last month the first time a European claimed the top spot on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. While Group Lotus is tiny compared to Tesla, Geely has been steering it away from combustion engines and has several all-electric models planned for the coming years. Lotus Tech sees itself as a competitor to the likes of Ferrari and Aston Martin, and will get a jump on the first electric models from those brands. Lotus unveiled its all-electric Eletre sport utility vehicle last year and plans to launch a rival to Porsches popular Taycan EV in 2023. Geely and other owners are expected to retain an 89.7% shareholding in Lotus Tech after the SPAC merger. Geelys billionaire owner Li Shufu also controls Swedish carmaker Volvo Car AB and owns stakes in Germanys Mercedes-Benz Group AG and the UKs Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings Plc. Deutsche Bank AG advised Lotus Tech on the deal, while Credit Suisse Group AG acted as capital markets adviser to the SPAC. Lotus Advanced Performance division wants to make your dreams come true
Wed, Feb 9 2022Lotus took a big step in its quest to position itself as a British alternative to Porsche by launching a division called Advanced Performance. Run by a former Aston Martin executive, Lotus Advanced Performance will design and build one-off and few-off models, among other tasks. Most high-end and specialty carmakers operate a program that gives customers some degree of freedom in terms of customization. Lotus was, until now, largely an exception to this rule. It hopes to make up for lost time by giving its Advanced Performance division a surprisingly long list of responsibilities. First the department will be responsible for building "ultra-exclusive and unique vehicles" that will not be part of the firm's regular-production line-up. One of these (shown in a sketch above) looks like it draws inspiration from classic Formula One cars. Details are few and far between, but the massive rear wing speaks volumes about the kind of halo cars we'll see in the not-too-distant future. What's unclear is whether Lotus will take customer requests. We've reached out, and we'll update this story if we learn more. Designing limited-edition models and developing race cars will also fall within the scope of Advanced Performance's responsibilities. And, it's the door that buyers who want to customize their car will need to knock on; they'll be able to select different paint colors, trim materials, and upholsteries. Optional extras and a range of Lotus-branded accessories will also emerge from Advanced Performance's headquarters. Immersing customers and enthusiasts into the Lotus world is important as well, so Advanced Performance will organize tours of the brand's production lines, organize driving academies around the world (including on the Hethel test track in England) and prepare "money can't buy" opportunities for clients. There's no word yet on what these experiences will look like; more information should emerge later in 2022. Lotus put Simon Lane in charge of its Advanced Performance division. He's a good choice: his resume includes leading Aston Martin's Q division, whose list of responsibilities looks a lot like Advanced Performance's. Q notably brought us the V8-powered Cygnet in 2018 and the one-of-a-kind Victor unveiled in 2020. Some of its other projects have been more tame: it gave the DBX a long list of carbon fiber parts. Lotus F1 Team reveals new E23 Hybrid
Mon, Jan 26 2015Lotus is keen to leave a lackluster 2014 Formula One World Championship campaign behind it and race forward towards a new era, and this is the car with which it hopes to do so. The new E23 Hybrid is the twenty-third chassis to come from the Enstone-based team. As with the new Williams that was the first new chassis revealed for this year, the principal difference you can see is the more conventional nose to replace the twin-tusk setup of the E22, but there's more to it than that. For starters, it's the first new Lotus to pack Mercedes power after the team parted ways with Renault the manufacturer that used to own the team and which has powered every car the team has built since Benetton signed with the French automaker way back in 1995. It also packs a completely new suspension setup after the original FRIC design in the preceding E22 was banned mid-season, forcing Enstone engineers to go back to the drawing board halfway through the championship. Word has it that, after earlier rumors suggested the team might not even make it back onto the grid, new sponsors will be added before the season gets under way in Melbourne on March 15 with the Australian Grand Prix. To pilot the new car, Lotus has retained the same two drivers as last year in Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado. The team is hoping to perform better this season than it did the last, when it finished the constructors' championship way down in eighth place the same result it achieved in 2009 under Renault ownership and the worst it had performed since the Toleman days in 1983.
