It is with much sadness that I have decided to put my 2006 Exige up for sale.

Since getting the car I have made a number of changes and improvements to ensure reliability and performance:

The details:

2006 Solar Yellow Lotus Exige with Vision Function 2 SC and Charlie-X tune. The install was done at Vision Function approximately 8,000 miles ago. Don't have a dyno plot but having ridden in an S260, this car would trounce it. It is neck snapping fast.

Sports pack and Touring pack. Dual oil coolers (one replaced during oil line recall) ,Traction Control, Track pack shocks.

Current mileage is 18,445 miles.

Body work is in excellent condition with no damage or paintwork anywhere on the car. The front splitter has no curb damage.

Tires (AO48's) are less than 3,000 miles old and have a ton of tread left.

Clear and free Indiana title, clean car fax.

Less than 400 miles ago I had the oil line recall done, a brand new Pro-rad triple pass radiator fitted, coolant flush and replacement and followed it up with a full alignment. All work was completed by TJ at Gator Motorsports in Indy. These guys are the best at what they do. ($1600).

All fluids and filters were changed less than 200 miles ago- Mobil 1 engine Oil, Motul Brake Fluid, Redline MT-90 Transmission oil.

To capture the oil blowby I fitted Radium dual catch cans ($420). These have less than 100 miles on them.

To make the car breath right and sound right I stripped away the back end and fitted a BWR Quarter stick exhaust with heat wrap and fitted a Difflow Railer Jnr diffuser. The car sounds like it moves now. If you have never heard a QS exhaust on full throttle, it is awesome. ($1300). Fitted less than 200 miles ago so parts are brand new.

I wanted repeated start ability and I don't track (save that for my Triumph 675) I fitted an Optima Red battery.

Hids are fitted as well as all supplemental lighting being LED. I disabled the DRL as they are just annoying.

The head unit is a JVC Nav/Hdd/CD unit. Easily connects to your phone through Bluetooth for music streaming or hands free talking on the phone.

Center console with boost and oil temp gauages. Calipers freshly painted matt black with yellow raised lotus lettering.

Lotus Evija whirs onto Quail lawn to tempt 130 prospective customers

Sun, Aug 18 2019

At last, we've met the Lotus Evija in its compact, electric-charged glory. The carbon-fiber-bodied electric supercar looks like liquid metal poured over some skeletal biologic form. The coupe represents the first all-new Lotus since the ten-year-old Evora went on sale, the first Lotus developed wholly under Geely ownership, the first in-house all-electric vehicle from Hethel, the first Lotus with a one-piece carbon fiber monocoque tub, and the first one Hethel HQ will send to the Nurburgring to break a lap record. Lotus announced that lap record tilt saying it should be "comfortably quicker" than the all-electric NIO EP9 road-legal EV that ran a 6:45. That has since been broken by the 6:05 figure Volkswagen achieved with its ID.R, a purpose-built electric race car. The 'Ring doesn't yet divide EV times into classes, so we'd still like to see Lotus go for outright honors. That is indeed unfair, but the Evija has the numbers to at least make a go of it. The four electric motors in the ID.R produce a combined 680 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque to move a car weighing 2,500 pounds. The Evija's 50 percent heavier at 3,700 pounds, but has almost triple the horses and more than double the torque, its two motors making a combined 2,000 horsepower and 1,254 pound-feet of torque. It does have active aerodynamics, including a moving rear wing, but it's still short a bunch of race aero, a giant front splitter, and a DRS button. No matter how the German caper turns out, we expect Lotus will be able to find homes for all the Evijas it offers for sale. Only 130 will be made, each one starting at around $2.1 million.

Lotus F1 Team Breaks World Record For Longest Truck Jump

Mon, Nov 24 2014

Lotus F1 wasn't content to make just any commercial for their technology partner EMC Industries. It had to be one for the record books. The video released over the weekend shows a truck breaking the world record for longest jump ever completed by a truck. The stunt was obviously geared towards publicity, but while they were at it, they set a Guinness World Record for the longest truck jump at 83 feet, 7 inches. The previous record, according to Guinness, stood at 50 feet, 6 inches, and was set on MTV's Nitro Circus on November 17, 2008, by Gregg Godfrey at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City. That record stood for six years, but (as best we can tell) was set without the trailer attached, or the F1 car tracking underneath - which only makes this latest stunt that much more impressive. Stunt driver Mike Ryan planned the jump and drove the truck off the ramp and over fellow stunt driver Martin Ivanov as he sped underneath in a Lotus F1 race car. And just so you know no CGI was involved, EMC industries included a making of video on their website.

Lotus bows out of Paris Motor Show

Mon, 16 Jul 2012

The plan put forth by former Lotus CEO Dany Bahar was to explode the British brand into the high-dollar sports car segment and directly challenge its marquee names. The first explosion came with the surprise introduction of five concepts at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. What has continued to surprise, though, is that the explosions haven't stopped: parent company Proton has had troubles leading to a reworking of its Formula One involvement, its IndyCar effort has had a rough ride, Proton's sale to Malaysian conglomerate DRB Hicom led to a production stoppage, and while the company was reassured that it wouldn't be sold, Bahar was shown the door - along with four of those Paris concepts, as far as we can tell. Yet the company is still making highly regarded cars and going racing.
So it shouldn't be all that surprising that, according to a report in Car and Driver, Lotus won't be attending this year's Paris Motor Show at all. Lotus didn't have much to show off at the Geneva Motor Show or the New York Show as all development was halted for two months, and the new corporate owner and new CEO installed by that owner are still working through the details of its niche English property. We will hope this is nothing more than a step in the reorganization, and look forward to seeing the Hethel firm again in Los Angeles or Detroit.
