Up for sale is my 2001 LOTUS Esprit V8 Twin turbo. The car is INCREDIBLY beautiful, it has a yellow pearl metallic color paint, (OEM Mustard yellow) The exterior and interiors are CLEAN. It is a PLEASURE to own and a bigger pleasure to drive. The car has the updated 2002 Limited final edition rear conversion with HRE custom wheels (12K extra spent) and the large AP RACING brakes. The car is very clean and rare. The car is #6 of 20 USA esprit V8 cars built in yellow and #6 of 24 in yellow world wide for 2001. The car is #31 off the assembly line out of 95 world wide produced cars. The engine type "D" means its carries the 918 3.5 V8 engine, it was built in HETHEL UK.  The engine number is #LL918-0011-30792 (serial # 30792) Engine build date is October 2000. Gear BOX number 1175. I will include all of the documentation of the car including receipts and owners manuals, service books and Factory window paper with the required build sheets in the sale. This car started in serial # 0163 and ended in 0318, This car is built accordingly. This car came off the assembly line DECEMBER 7 2000 and was delivered and sold new at the DIMMITT Lotus in CLEAR WATER Florida USA dealer. I am sad to see the car go and I want to see it go to the right home. The car has all new parts (mentioned above) and has been completely serviced. The car is CLEAN inside and out and is in great condition. The wheels are HRE they cost over 11K to make, The engine and transmission need nothing as of now and have been regularly maintained. This is the MOST fun and reliable super car i have ever owned. The car will bring incredible attention, people will ask questions, approach you take pictures and perhaps even film you. The V8 engine sounds like a super car V8 engine would it is a smaller displacement and therefore revs higher. The car looks flat and wide, it looks better in person than in pictures. The car has a clean clear title, HAS NO ACCIDENTS (the only damage reported to car fax was caused by a falling shelf in the garage where the car was parked which required the passenger fender and pillar to be painted. previous owner) The interior is clean and has a removable top. I DO NOT have the OEM wheels any longer but can acquire them should you want them. I am the THIRD OWNER, the car has been registered in various locations due to company.

This is a super car and is in collector condition. This car is exotic which means it is temperamental (its not a BMW or mercedes). It drives rough and you can feel all the bumps and cracks on the road (due to sport and racing set up suspension) It requires love attention and is suitable for a gentleman who can appreciate the car for what and how rare it is. I do NOT wash the car through machines, only hand wash and cloth dry only. The car is impressive for its age and rarity. there are very few of these cars for sale, I spent months even years finding the right candidate when I was buying my car. The car has been serviced by a Ferrari/Maserati master tech locally and also by the dealer. The car underwent a compression check and leak down test July 2013. The numbers are all good and within a healthy range. The

Lotus confirms new Emira will be its last car powered by gasoline

Lotus is four years into the 10-year Vision80 plan that it announced at its 70th anniversary in 2018, and according to Matt Windle, managing director of Lotus Cars, the brand is "on track" to completely revitalize its line of sports cars as it branches out into profitable new automotive segments. Windle also confirmed the name of Lotus' upcoming new vehicle: "The spirit and passion that gave the world the Elise, Exige and Evora will live on in the next generation of cars – cars like the all-new Lotus Emira." The British company's sports car replacement, previously known as the Type 131, will make its virtual debut on July 6 before being shown in public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed that begins on July 8. Lotus confirmed that the Emira will be offered solely with internal combustion engine options and will not offer hybrid power, and that the powerplant comes from "an exciting new powertrain partnership" with options that are "new to Lotus." The company's Elise, Exige and Evora used four- and six-cylinder engines sourced from Toyota and tuned specifically for high-performance use. The Emira, which will be priced similarly to the Evora, will be the last production Lotus powered by gasoline, and it will be built atop a brand-new "Elemental" platform that relies on the brand's familiar extruded aluminum-intensive chassis. Three more platforms are currently in development, and these four architectures will provide the basis for the company's planned expansion. The next we expect to see in production is the Hypercar architecture that forms the basis of the upcoming Lotus Evija. The electric Evija and its "Extreme" platform will start rolling out of the Hethel headquarters later this year. Lotus' "Evolution" platform is next, and it will underpin "an all-new range of lifestyle vehicles" that "will catapult Lotus into a new era of higher retail volumes and significant revenues." We take that to mean SUVs. This Premium architecture was reportedly designed by Lotus in the UK with collaboration from other brands under the Geely umbrella in China and Sweden and Germany. Finally, Lotus and Alpine have consummated their recently announced partnership and will launch an "E-Sports" platform that will be "will be flexible and modular." We expect a range of electric vehicles on this architecture that could include everything from sports cars and hatchbacks to crossovers and other utility shapes.

Lotus has been in limbo in recent years. After former CEO Dany Bahar revealed his plans to build six new models, its parent company was sold, Bahar was sacked, his plans were canceled and a new CEO was hired in the form of former Peugeot chief Jean-Marc Gales. The industry has been waiting ever since to find out what Gales would do with the storied marque, and now we seem to have some indication.
Reports coming in from Malaysia indicate that Jean-Marc presented to the board of parent company Proton a plan for Lotus to build a new sedan and crossover. Though details are scarce, and may seem downright blasphemous for an automaker that built is reputation on lightweight sports cars, it would not be the first time that the House that Colin Built has toyed with either idea.
The company presented the APX crossover concept at the 2006 Geneva Motor Show, and the Eterne sedan concept as part of Bahar's far-reaching plans at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new plans may use these concepts as starting points or could go another direction entirely.

The Lotus Evija is the company’s first all-electric hypercar

Internally known as the Type 130, the new Lotus Evija combines several firsts for the British company into one wild shape. First of all, it’s the companyÂ’s first in-house all-electric car – the Lotus chassis provided to the likes of Tesla for the first Roadster doesnÂ’t count. ItÂ’s also the companyÂ’s first hypercar, claiming an astonishing (and provisional) 1,973 horsepower. Perhaps more importantly, itÂ’s the first all-new car from the company since the Evora, and the first to be conceived entirely under the ownership of ChinaÂ’s Geely. Yup, thatÂ’s a lot of firsts. ItÂ’s not the first EV hypercar – itÂ’ll have competition from the likes of Rimac and the upcoming Pininfarina Battista, plus the next-gen Tesla Roadster assuming that does eventually hit the market – but itÂ’s definitely early on the scene. And just look at it – the styling is wild, incorporating some continuing Lotus themes – particularly around the greenhouse – but with an overall direction thatÂ’s much brasher than the companyÂ’s other products. The deep side sculpting resembles is complex and stylized, as are the rounded, narrow quadrangle taillights supported by a massive rear diffuser. The front is arguably the least distinctive and biggest departure for the company. The verticality of the headlamps seems like a blend of the Ferrari F8 Tributo and the old Lamborghini Gallardo, without really aping either. Look closely and it appears to be an evolution of the shape of the EvoraÂ’s lamps, but without that context fresh in your mind itÂ’ll appear more generic supercar than something uniquely Lotus. The bodywork has some neat party tricks. Active aerodynamics allow for an F1-style Drag Reduction System, and thereÂ’s a deployable rear spoiler. There are no fixed side-mirrors; little cameras deploy from the front fenders and another camera embedded in the rear of the roof provides a rear view. ItÂ’s also different. The extruded, bonded aluminum architecture weÂ’re familiar with from the Elise/Exige line and the similar but unique Evora are gone, replaced by a company-first one-piece carbon fiber monocoque tub. Lotus is targeting a curb weight of approximately 3,700 lbs, and the lightweight tub (just 284 lbs) contributes to that.  The battery is housed behind the seats, and feeds power to four individual motors, providing all-wheel drive and infinitely variable torque vectoring.
