Lotus Espirit Museum Quality. Ultra Low Miles ( 9798 Miles) V8 Twin Turbo on 2040-cars
United States
FOR THE VIDEOS ABOUT THE CAR, PLEASE SEE THE PICS FOR THE LINK. You are viewing a stellar condition 1999 Lotus Esprit. This vehicle has been stored indoors its entire life. For a large chunk of its life it was stored in a climate controlled car bubble. Its mechanic told me that THIS WAS ONE OF 123 Esprits that was imported to the United States in 1999. This car has an excellent AUTOCHECK record, which I encourage bidders to check out prior to bidding. It will show the mileage history to show that the miles are spot on. NO ACCIDENTS, NOTHING. It is beautiful. Currently, the vehicle is stored inside a carpeted garage, which is nicer than most family rooms. This is the lowest mileage LOTUS that I have ever seen at its age. It’s also the best condition one I have ever seen. It looks like it did on the showroom floor when it was new. It even still smells like new. NEVER smoked in. NEVER raced or tested at the track. Also, since it lives in Las Vegas, it has to stay out of the sun. It usually only comes out for evening drives at sundown and loves the temperature. It recently had a full look through and service at the LOTUS specialist in town. It had its wheel bearings replaced and every inch of the car looked over. The mechanic, who has worked on a multitude of these vehicles, has never seen one in this great of shape. The cost for the above was $1000. The only thing that acts up on the car is the ABS light. The reason it is acting up is because the sensors are very sensitive and when the bearings were replaced I was told that they need to go in to re-adjust the sensors to keep the light from going off. I have included a ton of great photos along with a few videos. You can hear the car running in one or two of the videos. You can hear it purr like a kitten. This car also has a custom trickle charge system installed so you can easily just plug the car right into the charger. I am including the charger with the auction. I believe this was about $400 to install. The car has two keyless entry key remotes along with one engine kill deactivator. One of the keyless entry remotes needs a new rubber connector. This doesn’t impact the operation of it by any means. The car’s factory alarm is fully functional. The car has power windows. The factory floor mats look brand new. The car also has the glass top with it. I usually keep the painted top on the car. I feel that it looks more streamlined with it in vs. the glass top. The rims are in great shape. They just have a few chips in the typical spots since the
rims are so even with the tires.
These are the typical chips that would be picked up with driving. I have included video and good photos
that you can see that they are in great shape. This car runs like a champ, it never over heats, both of its turbos will lock you to the seat. Once again, all of this was tested on the last service from the mechanic. The tires are in excellent shape with no signs of dry rotting. The tread looks to be at 70% or more. The stereo is the original factory ALPINE that is in perfect working order. The paint is in amazing shape. I only use the softest of clothes on it and when it gets detailed we use very minimal water on it. Speaking of water, it has never been driven in water or rain. If there is any fear of rain, it goes home immediately. If there is a picture that I have not included, please let me know. I have tried to hit every single angle and be as accurate as possible. This car is 100% capable of going to BARRETT JACKSON. It is an amazing vehicle and could really be a great piece in someone’s collection. I wish I had the room to keep it myself. Please pay particular attention to the photo of the steering wheel, which is often an area that easily shows wear and tear. That is NOT the case with this car; like the rest of the car, the steering wheel looks practically brand new. Now for the fun legal stuff: This car is being sold as-is with no warranty express or implied. It is being sold with a clear NEVADA title. Buyer is responsible for obtaining his or her own insurance immediately. Seller has done the best of his ability to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible. Seller is not responsible for any damage done to the vehicle during transport. Buyer must pay for and arrange at his or her own expense shipping/ transport of this vehicle. Once this vehicle leaves the SELLER’S possession it is then the responsibility of the BUYER 100%. Anything that happens from that point on is the responsibility of the BUYER. Payment must be made in full prior to the vehicle leaving the SELLER’S possession. By bidding on this auction or winning this auction BUYER agrees to not dispute the deposit in any way shape or form. In the event BUYER disputes the deposit, he or she will be responsible for any and all court costs related to getting that deposit back including court costs, attorney’s fees, private investigation fees and or any other fee that could possibly occur due to having to recover said deposit. Buyer will also sign a standard bill of sale in addition to this auction for both parties records. The mileage is subject to change a little because I am still driving the vehicle. It won't exceed 9850 though by the time someone gets it. I just take her out to get the blood flowing some. The deposit can be through PayPal. The remaining balance through certified funds. Please see all the great pics. For someone that wants a top notch, stellar quality extremely rare Lotus to add to their collection, this is the one. Please let me know if you have any questions that pertain to your interest in this auction. Check out the pics, you will never find a Lotus this close to showroom quality! |

Lotus reveals Exige 360 Cup, limited to 50 cars
Sat, Aug 15 2015After over a decade on the market, Lotus keeps finding ways to sharpen the already razor-like Exige, and for the new 360 Cup the company incorporates even more improvements for the venerable sportscar. Chief among the upgrades is freer flowing induction and an improved exhaust to take the supercharged 3.5-liter V6 to 355 horsepower, a 10-hp improvement over the standard V6 Cup. In a vehicle weighing just 2,491 pounds, that should be plenty, and the Brits promise the engine sounds better too. On the outside, these Exiges, which are limited to 50 copies, wear new lightweight pieces for the front access panel and louvered rear tailgate. The rest of the body uses the V6 Cup's aero package that produces 93 pounds of downforce at 100 miles per hour. Improved brake discs are hidden behind Motorsport Red wheels, and each car comes with a numbered build plate. They're eligible to race in the Lotus Cup series, and for those really wanting to hit the track, the options include adjustable anti-roll bars, Ohlins dampers, a fire extinguisher, electrical cut-off, FIA carbon seats, air conditioning, and a removable steering wheel. Lotus is returning to the US market with the Evora 400 in December and plans to bring back the Elise in 2020. You need to be in Europe to get one of these Exiges, though. Prices in the UK start at 62,995 pounds ($98,558), including a 20 percent tax. THE LOTUS EXIGE 360 CUP 14/08/15 Limited edition - 1 of 50 - Exige V6 Cup Increase in power of 10 PS New lightweight louvered tailgate and front access panel Lotus Motorsport redefines the Exige V6 Cup with the introduction of the Exige 360 Cup. New lightweight panels and an increase in power mean the Lotus Motorsport Cup model continues to provide a benchmark in handling and performance. The Exige 360 Cup bespoke styling signals an evolution in design, with an option of four colours (Metallic White, Metallic Grey, Metallic Black and Metallic Silver) and stealth matt black roof, front access panel and louvered tailgate. This design is a limited edition run of 50 vehicles and each of these special Exige 360 Cup cars will receive a numbered Lotus Motorsport build plate. This new model boasts an increase in power of 10 PS with freer flowing induction and a sports exhaust system, which combined with a low vehicle weight of 1130 kg gives an incredibly pure driving experience on road and track. The powertrain updates also give the Exige 360 Cup a sportier soundtrack to enhance the driving experience.
Lotus Evora 400 Roadster won't save the brand, and that's okay
Mon, Mar 7 2016There may not be a more disappointing brand in the United States than Lotus. It's not because the British brand can't make a good car. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The big problem with Lotus is that it builds highly compelling cars, but can't actually sell them in America because it can't afford to make them meet the complicated set of safety requirements required by US regulators. That makes us sad. Fortunately, there's one upcoming exception. For 2017, Lotus is bringing the Evora 400 to our shores, and a North American version of the Sport 410 has been promised. We welcome them with open arms and a proper pair of Southcombe driving gloves. But that one model line isn't going to be enough to keep Lotus in the minds and hearts of driving enthusiasts from sea to shining sea, nor will it keep the admittedly small number of US dealers happy. As pleased as we are to see reports that a Roadster version of the latest Evora is on the way, more will be needed. Lotus told Autocar that it expects the convertible to account for half of its sales here in the States, and we don't doubt that. But it's still just another version of the same automobile, and 500-700 additional sales is not going to be enough to reestablish Lotus as a legitimate sportscar contender here in America. For that, it's going to need another model line or two, hopefully at an entry-level pricepoint. A range-topping halo car wouldn't hurt, either. On the bright side, the Evora Roadster sounds like a solid step in the right direction. It's apparently just as stiff and lightweight as the coupe – "It's so simple it makes you wonder why it wasn't done six years ago," says Lotus chief Jean-Marc Gales – and that means its 400-horsepower, supercharged V6 engine will still propel it from 0-60 in 4.1 seconds and to a top speed of 186 miles per hour. Plus, the Lotus name is well established and highly respected. We don't think we're smarter than the men and women leading Lotus in the UK. So, we're sure Lotus doesn't expect the Evora Roadster to completely reverse its unfortunate fortunes in the States. The promise of a new Elise in 2020 ought to help in that regard, assuming it will be more attainable than the $90,000 Evora. In the meantime, we can't wait to feel that familiar wind-in-the-hair excitement we're sure the Lotus Evora Roadster will provide.
Lotus will kill Elise, Exige and Evora to make room for the new Type 131
Mon, Jan 25 2021Lotus ended years of speculation by announcing it will begin rejuvenating its range when it releases a new model in 2021. Known as the Type 131 internally, its arrival will mark the end of the Elise, the Exige and the Evora. Although the three aforementioned models are showing their age, putting them out to pasture at about the same time is a surprising move because they're currently the only cars in the company's lineup. Saying that the Type 131 will have big shoes to fill is an understatement; it will blaze the path that a full family of new cars will follow. Official details about the 131 are few and far between, but an earlier report sketches the outline of a driver-friendly sports car powered by a mid-mounted engine. While it won't stray far from the lightness and the nimbleness that Lotus is famous for, it will be equipped with more tech than even the Evora, which offers a more comprehensive list of features than the track-inspired Exige and the back-to-the-basics Elise. Insiders have claimed that the 131 will be built on a new modular platform, and that it will not use any kind of electrification. Lotus released an image that shows the Evija (an electric, 2,000-horsepower halo car strictly limited to 130 units globally) next to three enigmatic cars hidden by a cover; one is presumably the 131. Another might be the battery-powered model that it's developing jointly with Renault-owned Alpine. As for the third, your guess is as good as ours. We know that the British firm is developing a Volvo-based SUV, but it's not pictured in the lineup. News of a new Lotus model will bring joy to enthusiasts and economists alike. The company is investing over 100 million British pounds (about $136 million) into its Hethel, England, facility, and it will hire about 250 employees to bring the 131 to the market. Most of the recruits will work in engineering and manufacturing. Lotus noted that it hopes to start building prototypes of the Type 131 — an internal designation that will likely not appear on the production model — in 2021. We don't know if deliveries will also begin this year, or if they are scheduled to start a little later. Regardless, it will be worth the wait. Lotus told Autoblog that all of its future cars will be engineered for global markets, and that its intention is to sell the Type 131 in North America. Related video:
