Selling my Chili Red 2006 Lotus Elise. Currently has 70k miles, clean title, street driven and maintenance up to date with recent services completed. This is a fantastic driving car and handles like no other! Very exotic and unique looking, especially in Chili Red paint, it turns heads and gets questions everywhere I take it. Lots of attention! Reason for selling, I currently do not need the car at the moment so it is up for sale. I have recently completed needed services and upgraded to a few aftermarket parts. Runs and drives perfectly, no issues. This lotus is packaged with touring package, track package suspension, and traction control. This is a street driven west coast only car!It will be sold as it is which includes Bilstein Track pack coilovers with 10k miles, Manly Poly motor mounts, Jan speed stage 2 exhaust, black Exige probax seats, black Exige diffusor, JL Audio front and rear speakers, Pioneer MVH-X560 Head unit, Radium quick clam removal kit, GRP mesh kit, black LOTUS lettering for rear clam and more.I recently completed a few services on the car, such as, new Exige clutch, new poly motor mounts, spark plugs, fresh oil change, oil filter change, transmission and diff fluid change, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, new thermostat, new radiator, new exhaust manifold (header to block) gasket, green air filter (plus removed snorkle), replaced full dashboard including all components, new interior carpeting, new HVAC heating and ac module, sanded and polished headlight lens, turn signal seals and much more! All this has been completed in the last 3 month. There are a few small imperfections with the car. Mainly being the front clam in the lip area. Being a street driven car, there is some rash in the front on the underside. The fiberglass needs to be patched and resprayed to look perfect. I recently had the rear clam resprayed and had the reflectors shaved. There are common wear items throughout due to its age, nothing bad. A few scratches on the inside aluminum. Typical wear and tear for a performance car driven on the street. That being said, this car is very well kept and cared for!I am sure I am missing a few things, overall it a clean lotus with a clean title. It is maintained and well kept. Its hard to sell it, it truly is an amazing experience driving one of these, and it sounds amazing for a 2zz with the Jan speed exhaust! Please shoot me a text, email or give me a call with question! I can provide the VIN upon request. I can also provide more pictures if needed. I am available to show the car anytime! It will be parked and stored in the garage until sold. Shoot me an offer, I am open and flexible on price.

Lotus drops Renault for Mercedes F1 engines

Tue, 08 Jul 2014

With only three manufacturers supplying engines in Formula One this season, the teams have been fairly evenly split: Ferrari, Sauber and Marussia use Ferrari engines; Mercedes, McLaren, Williams and Force India run on Mercedes power; Red Bull, Toro Rosso, Lotus and Caterham employ Renault power units. But one important team is reportedly preparing to ditch Renault and switch to Mercedes for next year.
That team is Lotus, an outfit which has fallen off its pace the past few seasons but which has still been a vital partner for Renault. That's because until a few seasons ago, the team based in Enstone, UK, was owned by Renault and bore the company's name. The operation was founded in 1981 as Toleman, was rechristened Benetton in 1986, bought by Renault 2000, taking the company's name in 2002, sold to its current owners Genii Capital 2009 and adopting the black and gold Lotus livery in 2011. As Benetton, it ran Ford engines until switching to Renault in 1995, sticking with the French outfit ever since, but that decades-long partnership - which meandered through Renault ownership and back out again - is now apparently drawing to a close.
The departure of Lotus as a customer team ought to allow Renault to focus instead on its increasing ties with Red Bull, which has taken the Enstone team's place as Renault's principal team. It could prove a smart move for the Lotus team as well, as the Mercedes engines have been outperforming the Renault units this season by an order of magnitude: not only is Mercedes far outpacing Red Bull at the top of the standings, but each of Mercedes' customer teams is performing better than Renault's clients.

Lotus Evija EV supercar is charging toward series production

Wed, Feb 19 2020

It's almost time for Lotus to begin production of real Evijas bound for customers, but first, it must go through its final round of testing. To accomplish this task, Lotus had to prep its brand-new production facility to build the final prototypes. New photos and video give a glimpse of what the Lotus assembly hall looks like.  The Evija, which means "the first in existence," is an all-electric supercar that Lotus hopes will be the most powerful production road car ever made. The supercar uses electric motors for four-wheel drive with torque vectoring and has a battery pack rated at 70kWh. Lotus claims it has 1,973 horsepower and 1,254 lb-ft of torque, can go zero to 60 mph in less than three seconds, can do zero to 186 mph in less than nine seconds, and has a top speed of 200 mph. All of that, with a weight of 3,704 pounds.  Possibly more impressive are the claimed battery stats. The Evija, which is the first Lotus developed with new majority shareholder Geely, can supposedly fully charge in less than 10 minutes and has a range of 250 miles. With a 350-kW charger, it'll fill up in 18 minutes. Lotus says the Evija has been an extremely collaborative effort, as 20 specialist contractors and 50 experts have been on site for the past six months. They've been hard at work in the new facility, which is located next to the 2.2-mile Hethel circuit in Hethel, in Norfolk, U.K. Check out the new state-of-the-art light tunnel, the vehicle lifts, the gantry crane, and more above and below. New Lotus owners ditch ambitious five-year plan

Thu, 26 Jul 2012

This didn't take long. The new overlords at Lotus have reportedly scrapped the company's five-year plan. DRB-Hicom ditched the turnaround strategy, penned by ousted CEO Danny Bahar, because it believes the market viewed the plan as overly ambitious.
The new product plan will slim the number of new model lines from five to three, and Lotus will likely slash the number planned consultants in favor of relying more heavily on in-house talent. According to The Star, the move should help expedite product development and save cash at the same time.
Even so, nothing is written in stone as of yet. DRB-Hicom says the new plan will take up to a year to finalize. The company has dumped around $242 million into Lotus so far this year, and the struggling automaker may require another $121 million by 2013. Lotus all but stopped production earlier this year during a loan freeze, but the lights came back on in April. The company now produces around 44 vehicles per week.
