2008 Lotus Elise Sc Rare And Immaculate 60th Anniversary Edition on 2040-cars
Lisle, Illinois, United States
2008 Lotus Elise SC Rare and Immaculate 60th Anniversary Special Edition Lotus In 2008, Lotus created a special 60th Anniversary Supercharged edition and built only 43 of these cars. Of those, only 19 were offered in Phantom Black with the silver stripe. I searched the US for one in 2009 and found this vehicle for sale at a dealership in Cleveland, OH. It had been sitting in a dealer showroom for two years and had only been driven 180 miles to and from an auto show in Ohio. I purchased the car as NEW in January, 2010. It had never been titled. It was shipped in a closed trailer to my home and has never been in inclement weather. This car is in incredible condition. Never a scratch, nick, or dent. Paint is all perfect. Non-smoker. Car still smells new. Every function works perfectly. One
owner car always meticulously maintained by Lotus dealership. TJ Waszak, arguably the best
Lotus mechanic in the Midwest, has personally performed all maintenance, tech
prep, and service and has offered to be a personal reference to the quality of
this car and the way it has been maintained. Back in 2010, TJ added a Moroso Oil Pan ($700)
to this car to increase oil capacity from 4 to 6 quart wet sump and reduce risk of
oil starvation. Also, added Schroth
4-point harness (wide) shoulder belts for safety. The car was recently serviced for resale, including new tires, oil and filter, and a complete tech inspection to confirm car is in perfect condition. Car has been detailed and looks perfect. Car had new brakes and complete brake flush at 16k miles. Car also comes with battery-minder (trickle charge to protect battery) and WeatherShield Car Cover ($350) in great condition (car stays covered in garage). I have the original window sticker that shows price at $63,120. The 60th Anniversary edition was a $7,495 option. It offers components that were only available this one time on an Elise SC. This is the most sought-after car ever to come out of Norfolk, UK. Car comes with the following special features: ·
Upgraded black leather interior utilizing Silver contrast stitching ·
60th Anniversary logos embroidered in the headrests ·
Car is all hand-crafted and this is the shortest production run ever ·

Renault bailing out Lotus F1 Team to pay $4M tax bill
Mon, Sep 28 2015The road ahead looks to be clear for Renault to reacquire the Formula One team that once bore its name. The latest reports have it that the French automaker is prepared to pay a multi-million-dollar tax bill to the British government to keep the Lotus team from entering bankruptcy proceedings. According to the report from Autosport, the Lotus F1 Team owes a massive GBP2.7 million equivalent to over $4 million at current exchange rates Β to the Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs authority for income tax and national insurance (Brit-speak for social security). The team was supposed to have withheld and submitted the funds on behalf of its 400 employees dating back to June, but since it has yet to pay up, it's being taken to court by the UK government. Apparently unable to foot the bill, the cash-strapped team looked poised to enter bankruptcy just as the Caterham and Manor/Marussia teams did last year. But Renault is now poised to step in to the team's rescue. Those with a longer memory for F1 history will point out that the Lotus team Β which has little to do with the sports car manufacturer of the same name Β dates back to 1981, and has changed title and ownership several times over the years. What was founded as Toleman was then taken over by Benetton. Renault acquired the team in 2000, but sold it to its current owners Genii Capital in 2009. The team based in Enstone, UK, won back-to-back world championships with Michael Schumacher in 1994-95 and again with Fernando Alonso in 2005-06, but has struggled both competitively and financially over recent years. Consigned to an engine-supply role since divesting itself of majority interest in the Lotus team, Renault has been rumored to be preparing to reacquire the outfit from Genii Β and in all likelihood switch it back from Mercedes power to its own. Paying the outstanding tax bill will likely emerge as the first step in that reacquisition. Once it takes over full ownership again, Renault is expected to rebrand the team in its own image, and will then have to decide on driver and other personnel contracts for next season. Related Video:
F1 just got a whole lot quieter, and some people are really unhappy about it
Tue, Mar 18 2014The scene is the front straight of the Albert Park Circuit at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix, and what you see on track on either side of the gentleman wearing the orange hat is a Mercedes AMG Petronas being followed by a Lotus. The first major clue, as should be obvious by the nose of the Mercedes, is that this scene was captured last year. The other major clue in the photo is the gentleman in the orange hat: he's wearing earmuffs to silence the noise. We count at least four people wearing them, and that's before the camera pans. Some F1 fans have been pleased with the sound of the new 1.6-liter V6 engines, but it appears that the majority are not; the organizers of the Australian Grand Prix are threatening to sue because of a "lack of sexiness," and F1 impresario Bernie Ecclestone has declared he was "horrified by the lack of [noise]." YouTube user krookzeh has posted a video comparing last year's 2.4-liter V8 cars on the first lap at Albert Park with the new turbo V6 cars on the first lap this year. You can compare the sounds and the number of earmuffs in the short clip below. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Lotus renames Russell Carr its head of design
Wed, 22 Oct 2014There's been a changing of the guard at Lotus recently. The legendary British sports car manufacturer fired its controversial chief executive Dany Bahar and replaced him recently with Jean-Marc Gales. And now it's named a new chief designer. Or rather, renamed its old one to the post.
That designer is the appropriately named Russell Carr, who had previously held the post until Bahar brought in his former compatriot Donato Coco (with whom he had previously served at Ferrari) and charged him with designing a series of ambitious but ill-fated concept cars that debuted at the 2010 Paris Motor Show and were subsequently axed on Bahar's way out. Now Coco has been shown the door as well, effective at the end of this month. In his place, Carr - who has been with Lotus since 1990 - has been given back his old job after having been demoted to playing second fiddle to Coco for five years.
Although both Gales and Coco both served in senior positions at PSA Peugeot Citroën, Gales didn't join the French automaker until 2009 - the same year that Coco joined Lotus, five years after having left PSA to work at Ferrari.
