I have a 2007 Storm Titanium Lotus Elise for sale. In near mint condition, it was just service approximately 400 miles ago in November at FVMC in Hinsdale. New rear tires a few thousand miles ago. Has 11283 miles currently. Options - star shield, premium pack, hardtop, traction control and metallic paint. Hardtop has been on car a few times and has been stored in the stock cover. Runs great, very little to no wear in the interior. Has stock Alpine stereo and speakers with iPod dock. I've owned it since June of 2011 - bought it in Texas when we lived there. Its been in storage in the winters since moving to Chicago and comes with a custom Dust Eze cover that fits it like a glove. Bone stock other than the floor mats and buttons which are brand new (Not OEM, but carpet grade). I have records from the past few years as well as original sticker. Only blemish is a small paint chip on the drivers side near the marker ( 1/4") and a blemish in the fiberglass from the factory (per FVMC) in the rear clam. Neither are noticeable. Leather has been treated with 'Hide Food' for the past couple of years, so it is very soft. We are moving back to TX and I don't want to ship it back -it is scheduled to be picked up by the truck, so I will ship it back to TX if it doesnt sell. . Any questions, please ask.

Lotus slated to stop selling Evora in US

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

It's been three years now since Lotus stopped selling the Elise and Exige in North America, leaving the Evora as its only model available Stateside. But according to the latest from Car and Driver, even that model is on its way out.
The problem reportedly comes down to air bags. Lotus was granted a temporary exemption from fitting the latest-generation smart airbags to the Evora, but that exemption is set to expire at the end of the year. And once it does, Lotus apparently has no intention of developing and fitting the proper equipment to allow it to continue selling the Evora in the United States.
Once the Evora is gone from our market, Lotus will be reduced to selling only track-bound versions of the Elise and Exige in the US, so the prospect of actually buying a new Lotus and driving off the dealer lot will vanish into thin air.

Lotus Exige S tears the roof off

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

Some things just don't make sense. But then we're not sure they really have to. Imagine Porsche took the Cayman, which is essentially the coupe version of the Boxster, and turned it into a convertible. Wouldn't make much sense, would it? Well that's essentially what Lotus did with the creation of the Exige S Roadster.
The Exige, you see, was already the fixed-roof version of the Elise. So what was the point in turning it back into a roadster? That's what our friends at XCar tried to ascertain in the video below. We could tell you what conclusion they arrived at, but that would spoil all the fun. So we'll just let you enjoy the seven-minute clip and see for yourself. Just remember: it doesn't have to make sense. It just has to be a Lotus.

Lotus Evija's wild aero setup is detailed by chief aerodynamicist

Tue, May 12 2020

The Lotus Evija is a car of firsts for Lotus. To that end, the company has spent a lot of time talking over the details. Today, we get to learn about the wild shape’s aerodynamics and what Lotus engineers were trying to accomplish. Richard Hill, chief aerodynamicist for Lotus takes a dive into all the details, and the video at the top of this post offers a great visual. “Most cars have to punch a hole in the air, to get through using brute force, but the Evija is unique because of its porosity,” Hill says. “The car literally ‘breathesÂ’ the air. The front acts like a mouth; it ingests the air, sucks every kilogram of value from it – in this case, the downforce – then exhales it through that dramatic rear end.” We can see what Hill means as we look at the Evija in photos. Instead of a regular front bumper, this one has pass-throughs that direct the air back into the side of the car. Lotus hasnÂ’t released the all-important coefficient of drag figure yet, but we have to imagine itÂ’s very low. The front splitter (below, left) is responsible for a few different things. The opening in the center takes in air to cool the battery pack that is mounted behind the seats. Then, the outer section of the splitter channels the air to the “e-axle” for cooling of the electrical components. And finally, it also produces downforce.  There are a couple more tunnels for air to pass through in the rear. These “holes” are likely the most distinctive design feature, especially when accentuated with the LED taillights. Hill says that these are also fully functional and help to reduce drag. “They feed the wake rearward to help cut drag,” Hill says. “Think of it this way; without them the Evija would be like a parachute but with them itÂ’s a butterfly net, and they make the car unique in the hypercar world.” On top of all these porous body structures, there are pieces that move. The rear wing can elevate upward from its flush body position and deploy into clean air above, creating more downforce. And then thereÂ’s an F1-style drag reduction system. This uses a horizontal plane that deploys from the car to make it slipperier through air. The final big piece of this puzzle is the underbody sculpting that directs air into the massive rear diffuser. This causes an upwash of air, in turn creating a massive amount of downforce. Hill sums it up quite nicely.
