This two-owner 2007 Lotus Elise in Aspen white over Black leather has been well cared and has never seen a track day. It has 11,374 original miles and has had two loving owners. Vehicle originated in Chicago and was delivered to its owner in Pleasant Prairie, WI through 2009, and then was purchased by the second owner and has resided in Indianapolis since. Vehicle was originally ordered with the following options: Touring Pack, Sport Pack, Hard Top, Soft Top, Lifestyle Paint, and Star Shield. Additional items installed: Lotus Sport ECU, Stage 2 Exhaust, and a ProRad radiator. The entire clear bra including front clam, skirts, mirrors, rear quarter and lower rear clam was replaced less than a month ago. This Elise is resting on Yokohama R888 tires which are all in great condition with plenty of life remaining. The vehicle has been well serviced and comes with all books, two keys and fobs, and both hard and soft tops. Vehicle saw an oil/filter change and transmission flush on 05/08/2014 at 10,907 miles. We have since applied new rear pads and flushed the brake fluid. This is a fine example of an unmolested Elise, which has never been tracked, and is ready for an appreciative new owner! Lotus names Jean-Marc Gales as new CEO

Sun, 04 May 2014

It's been about two years since DRB-Hicom took over Proton, and through it Lotus. One of its first courses of action was to fire the existing CEO, Dany Bahar, and proceed to scrap most if not all of his (arguably over-) ambitious plans. In his place they put one of their own - Aslam Farikullah - as Chief Operation Officer, but now the Malaysian-owned British automaker has attracted an industry heavyweight to lead it into the future.
That heavyweight is Jean-Marc Gales. The British- and German-educated Luxembourgian has spent the past couple of years running the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA), but may be better known for his previous posting as CEO of PSA Peugeot Citroën between 2009 and 2012, during which time he introduced the Citroën DS line, amongst others, and increased the French automaker's sales. Before PSA he worked for Daimler, General Motors and Volkswagen.
As the new Chief Executive Officer of Group Lotus, Gales will face the difficult task of growing a business based on three models - the Elise, Exige and Evora - that date back to 1996, 2000 and 2009, respectively. Whether he'll push for new models like his predecessor did remains to be seen, but he'd be wise to learn from Bahar's mistakes and avoid overextending what has always been a relatively small automaker.

Lotus honors F1 efforts with limited-edition Exige LF1

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

Lotus has announced a new, special edition of its hardcore Exige for customers in the UK and Europe. Limited to just 81 units (for the Lotus Formula One team's 81 victories), the new Exige LF1 is the ultimate accessory for fans of the British manufacturer's Formula One efforts.
Befitting of a car inspired by the Lotus E22, this particular Exige is finished in the team's traditional black and gold colors, complete with red accents inspired by the F1 racer. The exterior is further enhanced with unique badges that proclaim the LF1's limited-edition status. Matte gold wheels have also been fitted, just like this Lotus' big brother.
This isn't purely a paint-and-stickers job, though. Lotus has also touched up the cabin, offering up black leather and "technical fabric," complete with gold contrast stitching and piping. The seat backs and floor mats feature embroidered logos, while an individually numbered, carbon-fiber plaque sits on the LF1's dash.

Lotus recalling certain 2011 Evora S models for possible oil leak, fire

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

Last year about 80 examples of the 2011 Lotus Evora S were recalled over an issue with the oil feed pipe. The same number of 2011 Evora S', but with different manufacture dates, are back in the recall box again for a very similar issue; this time it's the engine oil cooler hose that could rupture and spray oil either onto the rear wheels or a hot engine part. Neither of those cases is good, and the latter could potentially lead to a fire.
Lotus is working on a solution, so a recall date hasn't been announced. The bulletin below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has more information.
