2005 Lotus Elise Ready For Summer on 2040-cars
Painesville, Ohio, United States
2005 Lotus Elise I bought the car 2/27/2012 with 15809 it now has 18532 I had been looking for a Lotus Elise for ever when this one came up locally I jump on it without checking into it I didn’t even know it had a salvage title until my credit union call and told me (my bad) but I was very excited to own a Lotus . I did look at as much as I could when I went to look at it but there were 2 other people there looking at it also that's why I jumped on it. Don’t get me wrong it’s an awesome car. I believe the car came from Florida and the place I bought it from did the body work There was only fiberglass damage NO chassis damage at all They didn’t do the best job in the world and the front very bottom was not done as you can see in the pictures but I see most Elise’s have the same problem There is a scratch on the driver’s door that looks like they painted over it and one on the back upper trunk area The passenger door window is tinted blue but not driver’s side. (I think that is where it might have had the damage but not sure also the paint on the door is very slightly different very hard to tell) Also inside the Drives door where the hinge there are some scratches or cracks (not sure) but it’s not affecting structure at all and was never painted (see pictures) Don’t get me wrong the car looks great Power windows work great No keys entry (there might be I just didn’t get the opener) The paint it nice and shinny Typical Lotus radio never picks up any stations CD player rocks The leather boot around the shifter is lose at bottom Hardtop is missing the back brackets I don’t know why I just never received them (Lotusgarage.com about $40) I never use the top so never bothered I put new tires on back front ones still have good tread I have changed the oil twice with Royal Purple I don’t know why I did it twice I had big plans Now for the Motor train NEVER a drop of anything under car NEVER loses a drop of anything Car runs and drives GREAT everything is as tight as it was from the factory (only 18000 miles) Front brakes just started squeaking I might change them before auction ends (AutoZone D109 $20.00) No promises My wife and I loved cruising around but we could only last about an hour before we got sore (yeah we’re old and fat LOL I paid $25000 for the car and my reserve is much lower than that I just can’t handle the $600 a month payment anymore The car is not perfect I tried to list everything I know so there are no surprises but on the same note the car drives AWESOME and looks good too Funds will have to be creared before the title and car can be tranfored I still owe the credit union but they have the title on hand Any questions PLEASE ask On May-31-14 at 17:26:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry I just added the rest of the pictures I don't know why they didn't go the first time. And it's actually in Mentor , Ohio 44060 5 minutes away from 44077 (I moved) Also someone asked for a warranty. this is something I can not offer I have described the car the best I can and it does run fantastic. I've only run HIGH TEST gas and its been stored inside never even seen rain since I've had it. Sorry but it's a AS IS auction. |

Behind the scenes of Lotus' spectacular truck-over-F1 jump
Mon, Nov 24 2014A Lotus F1 car and the truck in which it's transported may both be powered by Renault and share a common JPS livery, but as far as size and performance are concerned, they're at opposite ends of the spectrum. So if you had to jump one over the other, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer to skip the single-seater over the tractor-trailer. Right? Well that may be the more logical conclusion, but it's not the way the Lotus team and its technology partner EMC decided to go for this latest promo. Instead they jumped the semi over the grand prix car. The stunt was obviously geared towards publicity, but while they were at it, they set a Guinness World Record for the longest truck jump at 83 feet, 7 inches. The previous record, according to Guinness, stood at 50 feet, 6 inches, and was set on MTV's Nitro Circus on November 17, 2008, by Gregg Godfrey at Rocky Mountain Raceway in Salt Lake City. That record stood for six years, but (as best we can tell) was set without the trailer attached, or the F1 car tracking underneath - which only makes this latest stunt that much more impressive. You may have seen the promo clip circulating the interwebs late last week, but we've included a making-of video below as well to show how the stunt team managed to pull it all off. The black and gold Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition is heading to America
Thu, Apr 6 2017Few race teams have such deeply iconic liveries as Team Lotus. From the Gold Leaf cars from the late 1960s to the bright yellow Camel cars that lasted until the early 1990s, arguably none is more iconic than the John Player Special cars that brought world championships to Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti. Now that same sleek black and gold paint scheme can be had on the new Lotus Evora Sport 410 GP Edition. Even better, it's heading to America. While the GP Edition isn't anything more than a special paint scheme, what a wonderful design it is. The livery is based on the John Player Special Team Lotus cars that competed in Formula One between 1972 and 1986. The black paint is accented with gold stripes along the hood, fenders, doors, and rocker panel. Gold Evora Sport 410 logos adorn the rear while a "Word Champions" emblem flanks the engine cover. The Evora Sport 410 is the lighter, faster version of the thoroughly reworked Evora 400 that we drove last year. Lotus says it's the fastest road car the automaker has ever built. It hits 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and tops out at 190 mph. They US version has been specially curated by Lotus engineers in order to be both light and meet federal crash test standards. Unfortunately, Lotus is only building 150 total each year for worldwide markets. Related Video:
