2005 Lotus Elise Ready For Summer on 2040-cars
Painesville, Ohio, United States
2005 Lotus Elise I bought the car 2/27/2012 with 15809 it now has 18532 I had been looking for a Lotus Elise for ever when this one came up locally I jump on it without checking into it I didn’t even know it had a salvage title until my credit union call and told me (my bad) but I was very excited to own a Lotus . I did look at as much as I could when I went to look at it but there were 2 other people there looking at it also that's why I jumped on it. Don’t get me wrong it’s an awesome car. I believe the car came from Florida and the place I bought it from did the body work There was only fiberglass damage NO chassis damage at all They didn’t do the best job in the world and the front very bottom was not done as you can see in the pictures but I see most Elise’s have the same problem There is a scratch on the driver’s door that looks like they painted over it and one on the back upper trunk area The passenger door window is tinted blue but not driver’s side. (I think that is where it might have had the damage but not sure also the paint on the door is very slightly different very hard to tell) Also inside the Drives door where the hinge there are some scratches or cracks (not sure) but it’s not affecting structure at all and was never painted (see pictures) Don’t get me wrong the car looks great Power windows work great No keys entry (there might be I just didn’t get the opener) The paint it nice and shinny Typical Lotus radio never picks up any stations CD player rocks The leather boot around the shifter is lose at bottom Hardtop is missing the back brackets I don’t know why I just never received them (Lotusgarage.com about $40) I never use the top so never bothered I put new tires on back front ones still have good tread I have changed the oil twice with Royal Purple I don’t know why I did it twice I had big plans Now for the Motor train NEVER a drop of anything under car NEVER loses a drop of anything Car runs and drives GREAT everything is as tight as it was from the factory (only 18000 miles) Front brakes just started squeaking I might change them before auction ends (AutoZone D109 $20.00) No promises My wife and I loved cruising around but we could only last about an hour before we got sore (yeah we’re old and fat LOL I paid $25000 for the car and my reserve is much lower than that I just can’t handle the $600 a month payment anymore The car is not perfect I tried to list everything I know so there are no surprises but on the same note the car drives AWESOME and looks good too Funds will have to be creared before the title and car can be tranfored I still owe the credit union but they have the title on hand Any questions PLEASE ask On May-31-14 at 17:26:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry I just added the rest of the pictures I don't know why they didn't go the first time. And it's actually in Mentor , Ohio 44060 5 minutes away from 44077 (I moved) Also someone asked for a warranty. this is something I can not offer I have described the car the best I can and it does run fantastic. I've only run HIGH TEST gas and its been stored inside never even seen rain since I've had it. Sorry but it's a AS IS auction. |

Lotus Evora 400 shows the new face of progress [w/video]
Tue, Mar 3 2015Lotus may have scrapped all the grandiose plans of the preceding administration, but don't think for one minute that it's going to just sit on its finely honed laurels. No, the British automaker plans to revitalize its existing lineup, starting with the new Evora 400. Based on the company's existing 2+2 sports car, the new Evora 400 features a revised version of the Toyota-sourced 3.5-liter supercharged V6 that now produces 55 more horsepower than the Evora S for a titular total of 400 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. With revised aero, bodywork, electronics, differential, gearbox and brakes, the new Evora 400 debuting here at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show will now run to 60 in 4.1 seconds, reach a top speed of 186 miles per hour and lap the company's famously grueling test track six seconds faster than the previous model. If that's what resting on laurels looks like, we'll be taking our next vacation in Hethel, England. Lotus introduces Exclusive customization program
Sat, Jan 16 2016Lotus doesn't sell much beyond the Evora 400 in the US, but the announcement of a new personalization program won't be limited to just that model. The Lotus Exclusive program will be applicable to every model that Lotus makes, including the Elise and Exige in all their many iterations, the new 3-Eleven, and the Evora – which remains, for the time being, the only model currently certified for use on American roads. The company will even apply its new range of customization options to pre-owned models. Hethel is currently rolling out the Lotus Exclusive program in Europe, but plans to expand its availability later this year. Buyers will be able to pick from an expanded range of exterior colors – or have a custom hue mixed up specially – in matte, gloss, metallic, or pearlescent finishes. Custom graphics can be applied to the roof and mirror caps, and various exterior components (from spoilers to add-on decals) can be ordered in one of four colors, as can the three available styles of racing stripes. The interior will be available to order with five colors of leather and four colors of stitching thread to give the cockpit a unique touch. Of course Lotus isn't the first manufacturer to offer such a personalization service, which is fast becoming standard fare among exotic and luxury automakers – particularly in Europe. In the UK alone you'll find McLaren Special Operations, Q by Aston Martin, Rolls-Royce Bespoke, and Bentley's Mulliner division. Other examples include Ferrari Tailor Made, Lamborghini Ad Personam, and Porsche Exclusive. Dodge even offers the "1 of 1" program for the Viper GTC. At the very pinnacle of the exotic supercar market, however, manufacturers like Bugatti, Pagani, and Koenigsegg build every one of their supercars to order, according to the customer's specifications, so personalization comes part and parcel with the bragging rights. Stock Miata beats bunch of high-powered cars in wet 1/4-mile drag race
Thu, 06 Jun 2013When is a stock, 167-horsepower Mazda MX-5 Miata quicker than a Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Gallardo, Lotus Elise and a Porsche 911? When it's raining. Sort of.
Mazda Canada arranged a unique drag race to show off the fact that the Miata's optional power retractable folding hardtop can go from top-down to top-up in just 12 seconds flat. In this video, all six cars line up for a drag race, and it starts to rain (well, sort of - but you'll have to watch the video all the way to the end to see what we mean). The green flag is waved, and the timer starts as soon as the convertibles begin to put their tops up. But because the Miata's roof mechanism gets the car's roof back up a full 5.1 seconds quicker than the second-place car, the Mazda gets a serious advantage off the line for the actual drag race.
It's a fun video. And while we've spoiled the results (come on, the video was uploaded by Mazda, you knew the Miata was going to win), be sure to see how it all unfolds, below.
