Condition
When I purchased the Lotus, I reviewed the AutoCheck (see "Vehicle History Report") and CarFax vehicle history reports.  CarFax shows the same accident as listed on AutoCheck, and elaborates a few months later: "Headlight(s) replaced; Hub cap(s)/wheel cover(s) replaced."  I've visually inspected the vehicle and have no concerns of structural damage to the chassis.

Exterior
Front grille is missing
Undercarriage is missing a small trim piece that fits between the main chassis/tub and rear diffuser
All paint on the vehicle has some water marks that should buff out to make a great finish
Front clamshell has some chips in the paint near the license plate mounting point.  The rear clamshell has a few light scratches above the passenger sidemarker lens.
The passenger door just barely touches the front fender when opening, resulting in a 3/4" scuff
The driver door again touches the front fender, with a slightly more-noticeable scratch where the panels rub
There's a 1 1/4" chip in the paint on the rear clamshell, inside the driver door area, which is only visible when the door is opened.
Clear bra material is installed on side mirrors and rocker panels (below the doors).  The clear plastic still protects the paint nicely but is starting to fade.
Soft top is in very good condition (still a deep black color)
Trim rings around quarterpanel vents (behind the doors) have a few cracks
Front wheels are black 15" wheels in great condition
Rear wheels are the same wheels, but 16", in great condition
Front tires are Falken Azenis RT615K 205/50R15 99W and aren't brand new, but have even treadwear and plenty of tread depth remaining.
Rear tires are Falken Azenis RT615K 225/50R16 92W and have similar treadwear/depth.

Interior
The perforated-leather door insert on driver side has shrunk a little and doesn't wrap tightly its frame (you can see a bit of the underlying foam when looking down on the door)
Tinting on side and rear windows has one or two minor blemishes on it but is overall clear and in good condition
Door weatherseals are intact and work properly
Driver door sill has what looks to be a 1/4" burn mark in the middle of it, with a few other scuffs from normal driver entry/exit
Driver seat has some minor wear and scuffs (no cuts). A couple of stitches have frayed.  Rear lumbar air bladders hold pressure for about 30 minutes of driving.
Machined-aluminum surfaces have a few scratches from normal wear.
Center console near shifter is scuffed from driver entry/exit
Leather on steering wheel has some slight wear on it as to be expected with age and mileage
Dash is in excellent condition.  All buttons, controls, and HVAC vents operate properly.
The only interior odor is a British race-car smell.  No other odors such as from smoke or animals are present.

Electrical
Headlight(s) have been replaced in early 2007, as per CarFax vehicle history report.  Both the headlights and turn signals have some signs of sun oxidation but are still clear.
Taillights are very clear.  Each has a star-like set of cracks from the center of the lens (cosmetic only)
Side markers (tinted) and other lights/lenses in the cabin function properly.
Blaupunkt stereo head unit and speakers

Mechanical
Brembo brake pads are installed with cross-drilled rotors and original calipers
Engine runs well and has no leaks.
Transmission shifts properly.  There is some lateral movement felt in the shifter, which is only due to the original design of the center console.  There may be a small leak where the shift linkage enters the transmission, as it's a little wet there.
As far as I know, beyond normal maintenance, no modifications have been made to the original components of this Elise.

Title
The title shows actual mileage.  There are no title brands such as salvage, theft, or total loss
The Lotus is titled in my name (no liens) and is ready to be signed over into the new owner's name!

I've only owned this vehicle for a short time.  As a dad of young kiddos, I don't have the time to enjoy it, and I've decided that it needs to be owned by someone who does!

This is a relisting due to nonpayment by the previous winning bidder.  All conditions and vehicle notes remain unchanged.

Lotus proves it's alive and well by releasing its most powerful road-going car

Fri, Jul 26 2019

The future hasn't always looked bright for Lotus, but the British company is skating on much thicker ice under Geely ownership now than it was in the middle of the 2010s. It continues to claw back from the brink by releasing a GT-badged evolution of the Evora that delivers a meaner punch than its predecessors, and comes with a list of options that nearly rivals Porsche's. The GT replaces the Sport 410 and the 400 variants of the Evora. Presented as the most powerful road-going Lotus ever sold in the United States, it's powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine supercharged to 416 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 317 pound-feet of torque at 3,500 rpm. Those figures allow it to hit 60 mph from a stop in a brisk 3.8 seconds, and reach a 188-mph top speed. It's still a little bit slower than the Evora GT430 released in 2017, but Lotus kept that model away from American roads. The Evora GT comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission. Enthusiasts not interested in using a clutch can select an automatic gearbox that they can leave in drive or shift manually with aluminum paddles mounted on the steering wheel. Torque goes up to 332 pound-feet when the six shifts through the optional automatic, but the Evora GT posts the same performance figures regardless of how many pedals are in its footwell. Lotus makes the Evora GT using carbon fiber to keep weight in check. Buyers can honor company founder Colin Chapman by adding lightness if they're willing to add dollars, too. Priced at $10,000, the Carbon Pack includes a roof panel, a tailgate, a front access panel, and a diffuser all made with carbon fiber. Ticking that box shaves 50 pounds; put another way, Lotus charges $200 per pound.  Selecting the $8,000 titanium exhaust removes another 22 pounds. The Evora GT tips the scale at 3,104 pounds in its lightest configuration, but getting there requires paying for a Volkswagen Golf's worth of options. At least downforce comes standard, and the GT has more of it than its predecessors. The new GT designation doesn't bring significant exterior styling changes. It's the same story inside, where Lotus continues to offer the model as a strict two-seater, or with a pair of rear seats big enough for very, very small occupants. Every GT comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. On sale now, the 2020 Lotus Evora GT starts at $96,950. Deliveries will begin by the end of 2019.

Lotus-based Radford Type 62-2 shows its retro-styled interior

Thu, Nov 11 2021

England-based Radford introduced the Type 62-2, a limited-edition coupe with a heritage-laced design, earlier in 2021. But it didn't show us the interior. Now, Radford finally revealed what the car looks like inside, and it's a blend of retro styling cues and modern tech that enthusiasts will love. At first glance, the Type 62-2's cockpit looks like it's from a different era. The driver faces a meaty three-spoke steering wheel, the shift linkage is exposed, and there is a pair of Bremont instruments (one is a clock, the other is a stopwatch) positioned on the passenger-side of the dashboard. We could be describing a 1970s rally car. However, a closer inspection reveals features buyers expect from a car in 2021. Look behind the steering wheel (whose spokes are made with carbon fiber) and you'll spot a digital instrument cluster with a layout that can be configured by each buyer. You could, in theory, ask for the tachometer to be front and center, for example. Screens positioned on either side of the dashboard display the footage from the cameras that replace the exterior mirrors, and a phone dock that doubles as a wireless charger is hidden behind the build plate located on the center stack. Users can set their phone there to access navigation and music apps.  Radford Type 62-2 John Player Special View 5 Photos Buyers will have three basic trim levels to choose from: Classic, Gold Leaf, and John Player Special. Each one will receive a specific look inspired by liveries that Lotus race cars have used in the past, though buyers will be invited to configure their car exactly how they want it. What won't change is the engine: it's a supercharged, 3.5-liter V6 that found its way into the Type 62-2 from Toyota via the Lotus Emira. Bolted to either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, it develops about 430 horsepower in the Classic model, around 500 in the Gold Leaf, and approximately 600 in the John Player Special thanks in part to a specific supercharger. Radford will build 62 units of the Type 62-2, and production is scheduled to start before the end of 2021. Deliveries will begin in early 2022. Pricing information hasn't been announced, but don't expect this rare British coupe built largely by hand to come with a bargain price. Watch some vintage F1 cars blast up a Japanese mountain road

Mon, Dec 28 2015

It's a rare treat to see classic Formula One cars racing anywhere, but watching them on a Japanese mountain road is absolutely sublime. The folks behind Motorhead from Japan took over the toll road's twisting stretch of tarmac to turn this impossible dream into a reality. The unusual opportunity of a closed mountain road would be a waste for only two vehicles, and there were plenty of drivers in amazing machines that wanted to blast up the hill. After the vintage F1 cars got their turn, some drifters in a Nissan GT-R and a Toyota GT86 added some tire smoke to the misty mountain air. A couple more GT-R racecars and some modern sports cars eventually joined them. Before the rain hit, this team had quite a party going on. This video features amazing camera work, but the music unfortunately drowns out the chance to hear these amazing racecars. If watching this leaves you wanting more, Motorhead released a video last year of another group of impressive performance vehicles on the mountain road.
