2007 Lincoln Town Car Designer Series Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Maricopa, Arizona, United States
Offered is my originally purchased 2007 Lincoln Designer Town Car which is smoke and pet free. Options on car: Cashmere Paint, WSW Tires, 6 CD Radio, Power Moon Roof, HID Headlamps and California Emissions. Many standard items on this car including 17" chrome wheels, fog lights, upgraded leather, adjustable rear headrests, heated front seats, dual-zone auto climate control, adjustable brake/gas pedals, full power open/close trunk lid + many more. Car was never involved in any accident or had paint work done to it nor smoked in. The paint is 100% original except for a few very minor touch ups. This is a turn key car meaning there are no known problems. This car has NEVER been exposed to rock salt, snow or ice, therefore there is no rot. Interior and trunk lighting has been upgraded to white LEDs. This can revert back to factory style lighting easily. There is an external transmission FL1 oil filter installed to make sure the transmission fluid is clean. I used Mobil 1 engine oil from day one. When I changed/flushed the transmission fluid, I used Mobil 1 synthetic transmission fluid. I kept this car under a severe usage maintenance schedule due to some dust in my area. Most likely that was not required but I wanted to be sure. The air filter was changed every 10,000 miles--far earlier than the usual 30,000 miles. I have included my maintenance records to show what and when service was done. The great thing is that I did NOT purchase my car with a factory installed navigation system! Ford/ Lincoln no longer supports that system, meaning NO MAP UPDATES are available. Beware of these cars with the navigation systems as they only have old maps. If you have question about this car, ask me a question as I am the original owner. *****You can make arrangements and pay for a professional to inspect this car as I have nothing to hide. Since I did some road trips, I installed a full size spare tire--it's on a non chrome Town Car wheel. The factory donut spare tire is also present and all tires are filled with nitrogen. Interior windows were tinted and rear windows had vent covers on them--easy to remove if you don't like them. No personal items that are visible in photos are included. I can store car at my location for a few weeks if paid in full. For out of State purchaser, arrangements can be made for your pick up at the SkyHarbor, Phoenix AZ Airport. You must have a PayPal account to bid on this vehicle. Just added two photos of a new replacement driver's lower seat cushion cover that will become part of this offer. Back in 2007 I ordered a new seat cover as the driver's seat bottom usually receives the most wear. Right now it doesn't pay to replace it, but in the future it might be required. The value of this cover was $250 in 2007 and is no longer available. Due to a question asked about the paint being shiny, I added the last four photos. There is no damage to the car as the photos were taken to show reflections in the shiny paint. There are two ways to answer that question, #1 with added photos and my description with photos or #2 hire a professional to inspect the car. I've been an eBay seller for over ten years with a 100% feedback rating. A 2007 Designer Town Car being sold by the only/original owner with posted maintenance records is hard to find. 2007 Lincoln Town Car 1LNHM83W37Y617647 ******* DECEMBER 05, 2013 01/15/2007 Inspected @ Dealer with 04 miles, test driven to 08 miles, purchased OIL CHANGES 01/25/2007 Mileage 000,181 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Fram TG2 @98% 06/22/2007 Mileage 004,440 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Fram TG2 @05% 12/17/2007 Mileage 007,689 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Fram TG2 @ 05% 06/04/2008 Mileage 012,280 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 2% 11/21/2008 Mileage 016,918 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 3% 05/06/2009 Mileage 021,399 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 5% 10/28/2009 Mileage 025,841 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 0% 04/14/2010 Mileage 030,612 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 4% 10/05/2010 Mileage 034,276 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @ 1% 03/07/2011 Mileage 039,405 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @1% & Magnafilter # 3702215 installed 08/08/2011 Mileage 044,438 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @1% 09/20/2011 Mileage 049,439 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @1% 03/23/2012 Mileage 053,560 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @0% 07/19/2012 Mileage 058,566 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter Motorcraft FL820s @0% 01/16/2013 Mileage 062,186 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts. & Oil Filter WIX 57386 @0% 06/25/2013 Mileage 065,255 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts & Oil Filter WIX 57386 @ 9% 12/05/2013 Mileage 070,243 Mobil 1 5W20 six qts & Oil Filter WIX 57386 @2% Air Filter 04/11/2008 Mileage 010,539 Fram TGA5056 05/06/2009 Mileage 021,399 Fram CA5056 06/07/2010 Mileage 031,380 Fram CA5056 03/20/2011 Mileage 040,119 Fram CA5056 09/20/2011 Mileage 049,439 Fram CA5056 09/01/2012 Mileage 060,019 Fram CA5056 12/05/2013 Mileage 070,243 Fram CA5056 Nitrogen 05/01/2007 Mileage 003,050 air removed from all tires. Lincoln to resurrect old nameplates for China?
Wed, 04 Dec 2013Judging by the success that many luxury automakers are currently experiencing in China, it's no surprise that Lincoln plans to take advantage of the situation by peddling its wares across the Pacific. Lincoln will open its first Chinese dealership next year, but potential buyers there won't be mucking through the same alphabet soup of car names found in American showrooms. USA Today reports that Ford's luxury car division could revert back to legacy names (like Continental and Zephyr) in China while keeping the MK_ names here in North America.
In speaking to Ford exec Jim Farley during the LA Auto Show, USA Today says that Lincoln could switch its naming structure as models are refreshed. Farley didn't confirm that the naming revamp would be a China-only decision, but article leaves little hope that American buyers will get to see the return of classic names anytime soon.
Why would Ford rehash old Lincoln names for China only? Buyers there seem to have a better historical associations with the nameplates than in the US. Chinese also still hold Lincoln in high regard, associating the marque with use by prominent government officials.
A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
Bentley designer calls Lincoln Continental concept a Flying Spur 'copy' [w/poll]
Tue, Mar 31 2015When you first laid eyes on the new Lincoln Continental concept, we'd wager you were likely impressed, because it's an impressive design. But if you also thought it looked familiar, you're in good company. According to Car Design News, design chief Luc Donckerwolke over at Bentley thinks the Lincoln concept bears more than a passing resemblance to another Continental: Bentley's own Flying Spur. "This behavior is not respectable. Building a copy like this is giving a bad name to the car design world," Donckerwolke told CDN, after posting some disparaging comments on Facebook and offering in jest to send over the tooling. "It is very disappointing, especially for an exclusive brand like Lincoln," added Sangyup Lee, his deputy for exterior design. The irony is further entrenched by the name, which Bentley only dropped from its Flying Spur in its latest iteration but still uses for the coupe and convertible models. Both automakers have a deeply routed history with the nameplate, but Lincoln's stretches back further, having first used the handle in 1939 before Bentley did in 1952. However it's not the nameplate that's the subject of controversy here, rather the design of the vehicle to which it's applied. So what do you think, did Lincoln borrow too heavily from its British counterpart? Related Video:
