Somers Point, New Jersey, United States
UP FOR AUCTION IS A 2005 LINCOLN TOWN CAR LIMOUSINE. IT WAS CONVERTED BY FEDERAL LIMOUSINE COMPANY. I'VE HAD THIS LIMO FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR. I HAVE USED IT FOR PERSONAL USE DURING THAT TIME. THE CAR HAS 355,000 MILES ON IT. THERE IS MINIMAL RUST ON THE OUTSIDE, BODY IS IN GOOD SHAPE. THIS CAR FLOATS DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 80MPH. VERY SMOOTH. IT HAS THE EXTRA LONG 5TH DOOR. THIS IS A VERY NICE OPTION TO HAVE. IT MAKES IT VERY EASY FOR EVERYONE TO EXIT THE LIMO. THE PASSENGER AREA IS VERY NICE AND HAS LED LIGHTS AND FIBER OPTICS. TIRES HAVE A LOT OF TREAD LEFT. I HAVE PUT OVER $7000 WORTH OF WORK INTO THIS CAR IN THE LAST YEAR. THAT LIST INCLUDES: NEW ENGINE WITH APPROXIMATELY 59,000 MILES NEW IGNITION COILS AND SPARK PLUGS NEW ALTERNATOR NEW OXYGEN SENSORS COMPLETE BRAND NEW REAR INCLUDING AXLES, AXLE SEALS, CARRIER, SPIDER GEARS, BEARINGS...EVERYTHING NEW WINDOW TINT ON 2 OF THE WINDOWS NEW VINYL TOP NEW REAR SUSPENSION AIR BAGS NEW BLEND DOORS MIDDLE SEAT IN PASSENGER AREA WAS REUPHOLSTERED NEW INSIDE COVERS FOR FENDER WELLS NEW POWER STEERING HOSES JUST HAD THE A/C SERVICED THERE ARE A COUPLE OF THINGS THAT NEED TO BE DONE. CATALYTIC CONVERTER ON DRIVERS SIDE MAKES A RATTLING SOUND. ROCKAUTO.COM SELLS THE CAT FOR $143.00. THE PARTITION WILL NEED A NEW MOTOR SOON. THE PARTITION WORKS IF I TAP IT WITH A HAMMER. BECAUSE THERE'S NO PASSENGER SEAT, THE CAR MAKES 5 SETS OF 5 BONGS EVERY 30 MILES. IF YOU INSTALL A NEW SEAT, THE BONGS WILL GO AWAY. THE DRIVER'S WINDOW GOES SLIGHTY OFF THE TRACK WHEN GOING UP. THIS CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION AND I WOULD DRIVE IT ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITHOUT EVEN WORRYING ABOUT IT. KEEP IN MIND THIS IS A 9 YEAR OLD CAR AND IT IS NOT PERFECT. I JUST CHANGED THE OIL AND FILTER, SO IT IS READY TO GO.

Lincoln confirms the MKZ only has a few months left to live
Thu, Jan 30 2020Lincoln confirmed it will put the MKZ out to pasture in 2020. The sedan is based on the Ford Fusion, which is also scheduled to retire in the coming months as the company pivots towards high-riding models. Introduced at the 2012 New York Auto Show, the MKZ is the oldest member of the Lincoln portfolio by a wide margin, so its demise hardly comes as a surprise. The firm quietly broke the news as it announced plans to release an electric SUV built using technology borrowed from Rivian. The 2020 model is already out, and Lincoln tells Autoblog production will end in mid-2020, with sales continuing through the rest of the year. There will be no 2021 model. Â Though never a home run, the MKZ will be remembered as a significant car because it ushered in the design language that characterizes every model Lincoln sells in 2020 when it received a mid-cycle update for the 2017 model year. And, with up to 400 horsepower on tap, it also stood out as the most powerful production Lincoln ever released. Power and an elegant design weren't enough to give the nameplate a significant boost, and annual sales dropped to 17,725 units in 2019 from a peak of 34,009 cars in 2014. Even the Navigator outsold it. In recent years, the MKZ perplexingly became the autonomous car world's darling. Faraday Future, Didi Chuxing, Aurora, and Qualcomm are among the companies that tested their technology with MKZ-based prototypes. Lincoln explained the Hermosillo, Mexico, factory that makes the MKZ and the Fusion will "prepare for production of new Ford vehicles," but it didn't specify which ones. There's absolutely no evidence the company is developing a direct replacement for its entry-level sedan, so the Continental will carry the torch on its own. Its days might be numbered, too, because several unverified reports claim Lincoln will again consign the nameplate to the attic in the coming years to free up the production capacity it needs to build electric cars in Flat Rock, Michigan. Once it goes, Lincoln's range will be entirely sedan-free for the first time since the company was created in 1917. Some automakers still believe in the sedan, like Audi, but Lincoln seems to be a student of Ford's philosophy. Related Video: Â Â
Chevy, Lincoln dealers say they still want sedans
Mon, Feb 17 2020Detroit automakers have famously turned their backs on sedans as they make the strategic bet to double down on money-making trucks and SUVs, but dealers for at least two American brands are giving the companies contrary signals. In separate recent interviews with leading national dealer councils for Chevrolet and Lincoln, Automotive News reports that both brands’ dealers still see a need for cars. The publication published a Q&A interview with Mike Bowsher, chairman of the Chevrolet National Dealer Council, who said Chevy dealers managed to hold onto market share last year despite the phase-out of the Cruze compact sedan and hatchback, thanks to products like the Spark and Sonic subcompacts and the Trax and Equinox crossovers. But, he acknowledged, “We do feel like we could use a car, especially in the low-MSRP range.” The comments follow similar recent comments from Tom Lynch, who chairs the Lincoln National Dealer Council. He told AN, “If weÂ’re not in segments where there is still a good amount of business, I think the company and the dealers lose out.” The Cruze was one of the victims of GMÂ’s November 2018 announcement of plant closures, with production having ceased with the closure of GMÂ’s Lordstown, Ohio assembly plant last year. GM sold 47,975 Cruzes in 2019 but a healthy 142,617 in 2018. At Lincoln, Lynch said the council has been telling the company it needs to stick with the sedan segment, despite plans to kill the MKZ sedan in the coming months and unconfirmed reports that the Continental isnÂ’t long for this world, either, despite the buzz of the suicide-door Coach Door Edition, shown in the photo above. Lincoln sold 17,725 MKZs and 6,586 Continental sedans in 2019, down a combined 15%, but still good for almost 22% of overall Lincoln sales. It's worth noting that Lincoln competes in a luxury segment that still expresses allegiance to four- and two-door cars. Even Cadillac, its cross-town rival, is staying active with the upcoming CT5 and CT4 sedans. Lynch pointed to Tesla as evidence that strong sedan products can resonate with consumers, though he conceded that “What that looks like for Lincoln going forward, IÂ’m not sure of.” For now, anyway, Chevy still offers the Sonic and Spark subcompacts, the latter of which saw sales climb 32.5% in 2019 to 31,281 (Sonic sales fell nearly as steeply).
2020 Lincoln Aviator fuel economy revealed
Tue, Jun 18 2019Ford finally revealed some of the last details, such as fuel economy, for the non-hybrid 2020 Explorer. So it's no surprise that its classier corporate twin, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, has had its own fuel economy data released by the EPA. Though, like the Explorer, we only have information for the non-hybrid versions. The 2020 Lincoln Aviator has just two engine options, a base turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, and the same engine coupled to a hybrid system with 450 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. That base engine is the one we have fuel economy numbers for, and it's shared with the Ford Explorer ST, though the ST's version makes an extra 15 pound-feet of torque. With all-wheel drive it gets nearly the same fuel economy as the fast Ford with 17 mpg in the city, 24 on the highway and 20 in combined driving. The Explorer ST gets one more mpg in town. Unlike the Explorer ST, the Aviator does offer rear-wheel drive with this turbocharged V6. This model gets improved fuel economy of 18 in the city, 26 on the highway and 21 in combined driving. This isn't too surprising, since all-wheel-drive vehicles often do a little worse when it comes to fuel economy. We'll be especially curious as to how the Aviator hybrid performs. We doubt it will match the Ford Explorer hybrid, since that crossover relies on a less-powerful naturally aspirated 3.3-liter V6. But it might give the all-wheel-drive four-cylinder Explorer a run for its money, since the rear-drive V6 Aviator is only 1 to 2 mpg behind it. Related Video:
