1998 Lincoln Town Car Towncar Signature Always Florida Owned No Reserve 4.6l V8 on 2040-cars
Kissimmee, Florida, United States
Auction is no reserve and started at a reasonable price, will let the market dictate what it’s worth. Selling my 1998 Lincoln town car with signature series trim level, I purchased the vehicle in Feb 2010. Interior is probably an 8 out of 10. Will come with 2 remotes, one factory key, and possible one aftermarket programmed key(have to check safety deposit box), I also have a factory manual for this car. Car averages 22-25mpg in city and 30mpg on highway. 1998 is the only year without an external door keypad and lower power engine heads compared to later years. The car has lived its life with me as highway driving in Orlando for business and city driving for taking elderly father to doctor’s appointments. Title is free and clear with no defects, we have title in hand. Elderly father is co-registered owner so will be 2 signatures on given title. We are both nonsmokers and car shows no signs of previous smokers. According to the Carfax I have, this car has always been a Florida owned and registered vehicle from the beginning. The first half of its life being south Florida and the second half to current being in central Florida. Carfax also shows this vehicle as accident free. It does show a repo but that was from a way previous owner and not me. Reason for selling is to upgrade to Truck/SUV to do more hunting, fishing, outdoors activities. Little difficult to transport fishing gear and scuba gear without damaging something in a Lincoln car. This car has power driver and passenger seats, power mirrors and power locks. Heated drivers and passenger mirror along with auto dim rearview mirror, and I believe auto dim drivers mirror. I upgraded the steering wheel from the plain leather wheel to the nice wood and leather steering wheel from high trim levels with both having the full steering wheel controls for radio and climate control. The factory stereo system is the JBL stereo option with steering wheel controls and an 8” subwoofer in the rear deck. One of the minor defects is that the 8” sub in the rear deck is worn out and would not function properly, so the rear wiring to the sub was connected to a prefab 12” ported subwoofer in the trunk to retain bass in the car. If you want to take the time to remove the rear seat and deck cover the rear factory sub can be replaced and wiring reconnected easily. It also came with the factory CD changer in the trunk but I never purchased the CD magazine for the changer, unknown working of factory CD changer in trunk. interior shows slight signs of aging but very excellent condition for being 15 years old, no cracks in the dash or door panels, leather seats do show some butt wear and driver carpet area show some light dirt and wear but what car wouldn't. I take pride in my vehicles. Headliner and visors are in perfect condition. What has been replaced/ repaired/ or installed on it: Previous owner I purchased from:

Ford faces class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles without brake override systems
Fri, 29 Mar 2013A total of 20 Ford customers are suing the automaker in a class-action lawsuit for selling vehicles "vulnerable to unintended acceleration." According to Reuters, the suit names 30 models built between 2002 and 2010 with electronic throttle control systems but without a brake override system. Those include the 2004-2012 F-Series pickups and the 2005-2009 Lincoln Town Car. Adam Levitt, a partner with the law firm of Grant & Eisenhofer says the plaintiffs in the case want "to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects." Levitt contends that the plaintiffs would not have bought their vehicles or paid less for them had they known there was no brake override system in place.
Ford began installing brake override systems in its vehicles beginning in 2010. In response to the lawsuit, Ford has pointed to research by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that indicated that unintended acceleration is mostly caused by driver error, saying in a statement that, "NHTSA's work is far more scientific and trustworthy than work done by personal injury lawyers and their paid experts."
Belville et al v. Ford Motor Co. will be heard in US District Court in the Southern District of West Virginia.
Jay Leno recaps Pebble Beach
Wed, Sep 30 2015Each year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the picturesque, ocean-side setting of the golf course becomes a parking lot for a vast array of multi-million dollar vehicles. However, if you missed the posh event this year, then Jay Leno has you covered yet again. For a nearly hour-long installment of Jay Leno's Garage, the comedian has dumped his denim in favor of a suit to take viewers on an insider tour of the lavish gathering. He interviewed some of the most talented designers in the auto industry, too. Leno starts off checking out a few beautiful classics by the shore, but things really get interesting for his stroll down the Concept Car Lawn for a scoop on the vehicles of tomorrow. Ed Welburn tells Leno all about the Buick Avenir, and Shiro Nakamura offers a tour of the Infiniti Q60. Plus, there are detailed looks at the Lincoln Continental, Hyundai Vision G Coupe, and Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6. Ed Welburn leaves a lasting legacy at GM design
Sat, Apr 9 2016General Motors design chief Ed Welburn retired July 1, and the soft-spoken stylist is leaving a lasting legacy at the automaker and on the industry. He became the first African American to lead design at a carmaker when he took over GM's top spot in 2003. Just six people have overseen the company's design, and Welburn followed in the footsteps of icons like Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell. When Welburn was given expanded global oversight in 2005, it wasn't ceremonial. He helped unite the company's sprawling design empire, and today is in charge of 2,500 people who have a hand in designing GM cars. "He nurtured a creative, inclusive, and customer-focused culture among our designers that has strengthened our global brands," Mary Barra, GM chairman and CEO, said in a statement." Welburn took the helm when GM and the industry were shaking off a general styling malaise that pervaded the 1980s and 1990s. During his 13 years in charge, he took risks, produced a wide range of styles for everything from hybrids to sports cars to big trucks, and leaves GM design in a better place. Welburn's replacement, Michael Simcoe from GM's international design unit, has big shoes to fill. News & Analysis News: Tesla attracted more than 325,000 preorders of the Model 3 in about a week. Analysis: If anything, the Model 3 is more popular than many expected. Elon Musk tweeted that surprising figure on Thursday, and he said just five percent ordered the maximum number of two. That seems to indicate actual owners rather than speculators are fueling the demand. With a starting price of $35,000 before incentives and an electric range of 215 miles, the Model 3 is the Tesla that's attainable for a lot of people. Clearly, that notion is resonating. News: Lincoln has drawn 40,000 hand-raisers for the Continental. Analysis: Okay, that's not a Tesla figure, but it's still an encouraging sign for Lincoln that one of its most famous and historic names still resonates in 2016. It also demonstrates using a real, albeit slightly dusty name, was the right call for the MKS replacement. "No other Lincoln vehicle has generated this much interest in this little time," Lincoln president Kumar Galhotra said in New York last month. The concept that debuted a year ago put Lincoln back on the map, and the production version remains true to that promise. It will stand out on the road when it arrives this fall, and ultimately, that kind of style will determine Lincoln's future.
