Here is a huge, massive 1977 Lincoln Town Coupe. It's a Town car, but a 2 Door. Rare, luxurious, and as big as they came. 19' 5" to be pretty close. Weighing almost 5000 pounds, it's a big solid chunk of a car. If you Google "1977 Lincoln Town Coupe", you'll get several people's opinion of it, it's ride, and of it's reliability. They all mention the good and the bad, but one thing is in common with all of them, it's a plush, comfortable ride that is bigger than most anything out there.
It is very original and complete. There looks to be a lot of original paint on it. The right front fender appears to have been repainted, but I don't see any signs of a collision, so who knows why. The power windows, including the power vent windows, all work. The door locks try really hard to work, and sometimes they do. The factory stereo makes noise and functions, but makes a humming noise. I never turned it on and let it warm up, so who knows, it may get better.
The gauges all seem to work. The speedometer doesn't have a needle like a regular car, so it's just cool all on it's own. All of the lights, headlight doors, wipers, and so on all work. The big 460 starts easily, idles well, and has a ton of torque. It moves the car along nicely. It's like a living room on wheels. A living room that will smoke it's tires that is!
Since I bought it at a collector car auction in March, all I know is that if came from an estate sale. The title shows 82,000 actual miles as of 2/01/2002. As you can see, not a lot of time on the road in the past 10 + years.
Mechanically, I would call it great. Smooth, powerful, and will probably not need a thing anytime soon except for tires. They are old and ugly, but still hold air. I have driven about 70 miles on them locally, and had no intentions of changing them. I assumed the next buyer would put some big crazy wheels on it, so I didn't bother. The battery is weak, but if you start it every few days, it's fine. The AC doesn't work, but you might get lucky and all it needs is a recharge. I'm sure a tune up and general maintenance stuff wouldn't hurt, but you don't HAVE TO do anything.
The low fuel light works, and I know that because I ran out of gas after I took the pictures. It was raining, and I was trying to hurry...so if you're curious...it has a working gas gauge and light, but it helps to look at them occasionally.
It's being sold at NO RESERVE. Winning bidder will own it, so only serious bidders please. If you want to see it, hear it run, or drive it...please make sure to BEFORE the auction ends. I reserve the right to end the auction in the event the car sells to a local buyer, or if someone makes me an offer I can't refuse. If you're into gigantic American cars from the 70's, please look at my other auction for a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible. Believe it or not, as big as it is, it's still smaller than this Lincoln.
Florida buyers will be required to pay sales tax on the winning price, and any title/registration fees at the DMV rate. I do not charge a fee or mark anything up.
Out of state and out of country buyers only pay the winning bid. Good luck and Happy Bidding.
This car is located in Port Charlotte, FL. I can assist with shipping if you need help, but it will be at the buyers expense.

To begin, Greg takes a moment to remember the fastest woman on four wheels and former host of Autoblog's "The List," Jessi Combs, who died this week. Then our editors turn their attention to the cars they've been driving, including the Lincoln Aviator, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier, as well as Joel's recent stint in the Fiat 500 Abarth and Fiat 124 Spider Abarth, including track time at Laguna Seca. 2018 L.A. Auto Show: 5-plus takeaways on Jeep, Honda, Porsche and more
Thu, Nov 29 2018The 2018 L.A. Auto Show is making a strong case that auto shows aren't dead. Carmakers are ladling out sports cars and SUVs featuring serious style and performance in Los Angeles, and it's a feast for the senses. We're talking the new Porsche 911, the long-awaited Jeep Gladiator and the stylish Mazda3. It's the best car show with the most important reveals since the 2018 Detroit Auto Show kicked off the year. Here are some quick reactions: The 2019 Jeep Gladiator is a rock star When the story went live on Autoblog, our traffic went straight up. I've literally never seen the graph go straight up. So yeah, you guys seem to like it. I do, too. It's everything I want in a vehicle, including enough of a retro feel that it satisfies my cravings for an old Cherokee XJ. It's more capable and likely more expensive than I originally anticipated, but Jeep is going to have to expand its Toledo factory to keep up with demand. Don't be fooled by whatever the politicians say when that happens. It's because people like Jeeps and pickups, and this is the hero sandwich of all of that. I'd likely go with the 3.6-liter and a manual transmission if I were buying a Gladiator, but the diesel is compelling, too. Gladiator is a great name, drenched in history. I like it better than Scrambler, which never felt right to me. Only issue: It's a little over-the-top. Imagine this conversation: "So, ready to go to Panera?" "Sure, let's take the Gladiator." I mean, it's a bit much to refer to your personal vehicle as the Gladiator. Unless Russell Crowe is driving it. Then it's fine. The 2020 Porsche 911 is conservatively brilliant Every time I drive a 718 Cayman, Jaguar F-Type or another 911 challenger, I wonder if the 911 may be over the hill. It's not. And it likely never will be. This latest generation, dubbed 992 in Porsche-speak, stayed the course. The back takes some Mission E stylings that give the 911 a more modern feel. The flat six gets a little more power. The digital-heavy interior looks futuristic and slick. But overall, it's a blocking-and-tackling update that should satisfy the purists and maybe draw in a few new Porsche fans. It's the right time for the 2019 Honda Passport This slots between the Honda CR-V and the Honda Pilot. That's serious segmentation, but it's another crossover, and it's undoubtedly what the people want.
Ford recalls 422,000 SUVs for rear view camera display that may fail
Thu, May 18 2023WASHINGTON — Ford is recalling 422,000 sport utility vehicles in the U.S. because the video output may fail, preventing the rear view camera image from displaying. The recall covers 2020 through 2023 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Aviator, and 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair SUVs with a 360-degree camera. The recall expands and replaces prior Ford callbacks for the same issue in 2021 and 2023. Ford last year updated the image processing module (IPMB) software in an effort to address the issue. Ford said on Thursday it is "working together with suppliers to identify root cause and provide the correct remedy as quickly as possible". The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said the loss of the rear view camera image can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 26. Last year, Ford said it had reports of 17 minor crashes relating to the recall issue and more than 2,100 warranty reports but no reports of injuries. The NHTSA in August 2021 opened an investigation after Ford in 2020 recalled 620,246 vehicles for another rear camera issue. The investigation is reviewing if Ford had recalled the vehicles in a timely fashion and if it recalled enough vehicles. Recalls Ford Lincoln Crossover SUV
