2007 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR is a full-size sport utility vehicle, which is direct competition to the GMC DENALI or CADILLAC ESCALADE and is based on Ford Motors’ full-size pickup trucks. The Navigator was redesigned and it comes with all new bells and whistles.

Vehicle Overview
Lincoln claimed several industry firsts as options, including a power-folding third-row seat and power-extendable running boards, which ease entry and exit.

The Navigator is essentially a dressed-up Ford Expedition, the 2005 model gets a six-speed-automatic transmission i? 1/2 versus the Expedition's four-speed automatic i? 1/2 that promises improved shift smoothness. A new 5.4-liter V-8 with three valves per cylinder delivers the same 300 horsepower as before, but torque output has increased. AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control is now standard on all Navigators.

Exterior
For 2005, Lincoln's signature grille gets a new chrome finish on the upper portion, and the front fascia is new. Aluminum wheels hold 18-inch tires. The Navigator lowers itself by an inch when the ignition is turned off to allow easier entry and exit.

A powered liftgate and moonroof are installed.

Interior
This Navigator carries seven people and includes a standard 60/40-split third-row seat. A power-operated third-row seat that folds into the floor, and it also features heated and cooled front seats.

Burl walnut and leather trim grace the Navigator's interior. A navigation system and a DVD entertainment system for the rear seats are there. Standard equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seating surfaces (excluding the third-row seat), a six-CD changer and power-adjustable pedals.

Under the Hood
Lincoln's latest 5.4-liter V-8 develops 300 hp and 365 pounds-feet of torque; it teams with a new six-speed-automatic transmission. Four-wheel-drive models can tow as much as 8,300 pounds when properly equipped.

Safety
AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control is standard. A Safety Canopy side curtain-type airbag system enhances occupant protection in side impacts and rollovers for occupants in the first and second rows. All-disc antilock brakes, rear parking assist and a tire-pressure monitor are standard.

Overall

This vehicle is perfect for towing some weekend recreational toy in style and comfort while bringing along the whole family, their belongings and the family mutt.

Even Ford executives had issues with MyFord Touch

MyFord Touch is one of the auto industry's more controversial features. The media broadly panned the infotainment system developed with Microsoft for its slow responses and reliance on voice commands to navigate its deep menus. Oh, and Ford executives weren't big fans, either. Newly revealed court documents in a California class-action lawsuit demonstrate the level of venom Ford employees, both big and small, reserved for the Blue Oval's infotainment system. An error caused Bill Ford's navigation system to crash, leaving the family scion stuck on the side of the road in an unfamiliar area. The documents, unearthed by Forbes, detail current CEO Mark Fields' aggravations with MFT, too. A mechanic emailed an image of a cracked infotainment screen on an Edge to one of Ford's top Sync engineers, Kenneth Williams, suggesting "Mark Fields may have been a little aggravated with the system." But Ford and Fields' issues are nothing compared to the woes of the engineers that had to work on MFT. In a collection of emails obtained by Forbes, one engineer called the system "a polished turd," while another simply said, "These poor customers." And after one engineer suggested using a photo of Ford's Oakville Assembly Plant – home of the Edge, Flex, Lincoln MKX, and MKT production – as a background for the system, one of his coworkers said in an email that someone should instead Photoshop the image to read "abandon hope all ye who enter here," the Detroit News reports. Another summed up the problem, saying: "Ford's quality reputation is completely on the line ... another model year with the same crap is not acceptable." MyFord Touch almost single-handedly torpedoed Ford's reputation in widely reported quality metrics, including JD Power and Consumer Reports. Ford responded with a refreshed Sync3, a wildly improved rethink of its infotainment system that is far more responsive and easier to live with every day. 2019 Lincoln Navigator gets slight price hikes, crosses six-figure mark

As of the end of June this year, all-new Lincoln Navigator sales are up by triple digits over last year. No wonder, as Lincoln's flagship has impressed us on both our initial drive and again recently on a 900-mile road trip. Even if numbers slump some between now and the end of the year, the full-sized luxury SUV should achieve sales not seen since 2007, when it sold 24,050 units. That would help explain why the Navigator's already had one price increase this year, in June, when MSRPs across the range went up $500 and the destination charge rose another $100. According to order guides, prices for the 2019 model year will go up even more. The entry-level Premiere trim gets bumped by another $650, while the Reserve trim climbs by $3,500. After the $1,295 destination fee, the 2019 Navigator Premiere starts $74,500, and the Select trim rises by $1,000 to $78,850. Neither of those trims add additional equipment to offset the additional cost. The Reserve price hike to $86,500 does capture the cost of the Technology Package, which will come standard. On the 2018 Navigator, that package, which bundles aids like adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking, is a $2,640 option, so the net price jump for the trim is $860. The Black Label price drifts upward by $2,190 to $97,690, but the 2019 models will throw in 30-way power seats as standard. Those thrones being a $1,250 option on 2018 models, the net increase is then $940. The long-wheelbase L models will all go up by the same amount as their non-L counterparts, which puts the Navigator over the $100K mark for the first time; the 2019 Black Label L will need $100,890 to put in a suitable driveway. That's just $700 less than the list price of the 2019 Cadillac Escalade ESV Premium, but Cadillac incentives mean the Lincoln would actually cost thousands more. Lease prices have gone skyward, too. Cars Direct found that in the middle of this year, the average monthly cost for a 36-month lease in California was $1,023, a $131 increase compared to lease prices in February. Two months later, the average monthly cost in California has gone up another eight dollars, to $1,031. Ford expands door-latch recall to 156k more vehicles, nearly 550k total

Ford is being inundated with recalls as of late. Just days ago it called in over 590,000 cars for a variety of issues. Now, the Blue Oval has announced an expansion of its door latch campaign to cover an additional 156,000 vehicles in North America. Counting the original 389,585 cars, this has brought the total to 545,906. Under this expansion, the same models are affected, but Ford is broadening the coverage dates in some cases. The recall covers the 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, and 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ; there are 456,440 units in the US, 50,681 in Canada, and 38,785 in Mexico in need of repair. In these vehicles, a door might not latch because of a broken pawl spring tab. Even if a passenger can successfully close it, the faulty part could unlatch while driving. According to Ford, there are two allegations of doors bounding back and hitting a person. There's also one possible accident from a door opening and striking another vehicle.
