2002 Lincoln Blackwood : Navigator Aviator Mark Series Lt Crew Cab Lincoln Other on 2040-cars
United States
Selling my 2002 Lincoln Blackwood. Great daily driver and I always catch people taking a second look at this rare one of a kind classic! This was one of Lincolns low production special edition classic.Only produced for one year, 3,500 or less were made. If you don't know the history of this truck and like it, do your home work. This truck listed for over $54,000.00 new!! I would like to see it go to a good home that wants to restore or take it out of Michigan weather in the winter. I have no plans of putting it up and just having a summer truck around. Truck runs and drives fine, and in use everyday. Has new front end parts, brakes, battery. Just came out of a detail shop. Truck runs and drives fine but needs tires soon. Does have very small dings, scratches, rims have corrosion in spots, etc.Interior is nice, with no tears or rips, does have a few small scratches. Remember it has been a daily driver for 12 years. I've owned it for 3 years. Serious buyers need to contact me by phone to have a final chat about condition before purchase. If you purchase this truck and don't like it when you get here, you don't have to take it. I hope to make a deal before auction ends and truck is for sale locally. 517-749-1541 feel free to call me anytime if you're serious. Make me an offer, lets make a deal.May be willing to do 2/3 cash and 1/3 partial trade, what do you have.Tex me with offers.Thanks. |

Autoblog Podcast #327:
Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy
Tue, 16 Jul 2013Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.
Lincoln Aviator warning and alert sounds are played by an orchestra
Mon, Nov 5 2018Lincoln used members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to create alert chimes for its new Aviator SUV. Luxury manufacturers are always looking for more ways to increase the level of ambiance, and Lincoln went so far as to contract some of the best musicians in the world to create a more comfortable atmosphere. In total, the musicians created six different alert chimes for 25 different alerts the Aviator could provide. The alert chimes fall into three different categories Lincoln uses for warnings: non-critical, soft-warning chimes and hard-warning chimes. They are all made using a blend of percussion instruments, violin and viola. Lincoln plans to expand the instrumental sounds across its entire lineup eventually. These chimes will represent warnings for things like an open fuel door, unbuckled seat belt, the lowering of the power liftgate and plenty more. It's not a bad day when leaving your headlights on or door open lead to a pleasant musical sound coming from your speakers. All the sounds seem appropriate for their particular functions, and do sound more pleasing than the normal alerts. Lincoln says the musicians initially came up with 125 different sound options before they narrowed it down to just six. While it might feel a bit gimmicky at face value, a calming sound playing versus an annoying beep might reduce in-car aggravation. The Aviator with these warning sounds will be revealed at the LA Auto Show at the end of the month as well. It was originally shown as a close-to-production-looking concept car at the NY Auto Show earlier this year. All the official production details will be coming in LA. We'll be there in-person to tell you if these new musical chimes are a win. Lincoln Aviator warning chimes View 5 Photos Related video:
