The 1979 Blass is known as the nautical car due to it's White & Blue color theme and This car has just received a brand new dual stage repaint in it's original color I think 70's Lincolns are the best built cars of there era and undervalued for their quality and styling... We sell more 70's Lincolns than anyone in the world... and this car is ready for its new owner... Now it will look great in your garage. More than 800,000 Fords recalled for faulty Takata airbags
Thu, Jan 12 2017The Basics: Ford is recalling about 816,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles built in the US for faulty passenger-side Takata airbags. The affected vehicles were all built in North America, with 654,695 recalled vehicles in the US and 161,174 vehicles in Canada. A wide variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs are affected. This is a planned expansion of an earlier recall. 2005-09 and 2012 Ford Mustang 2005-06 Ford GT 2006-09 and 2012 Ford Fusion 2007-09 Ford Ranger 2007-09 Ford Edge 2006-09 and 2012 Lincoln Zephyr and Lincoln MKZ 2007-09 Lincoln MKX 2006-09 Mercury Milan The Problem: Like every other Takata recall, the problem rests with faulty airbags that can potentially expel shrapnel, injuring or killing vehicle occupants. Millions of vehicles from dozens of automakers are affected, so don't think that Ford is alone on this one. Injuries/Deaths: Ford stated in a press release that there have been no injuries or death linked to the vehicles in this recall. All in all, 11 deaths and 180 injuries across a variety of automakers have been linked to these Takata airbags. The fix: Ford will contact owners soon, and the affected vehicles will have their airbags replaced by a dealer at no additional charge. If you own one: Wait for contact from Ford, then head to the dealer to get a replacement. If you're wondering if your vehicle is affected, go to this Ford website and enter their Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The recall reference number is 17S01. And while it is omnipresent in most corners of the globe, few things spoke to that globalization more than Ford's purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover near the end of the last century. And with that purchase came shared platform opportunities, some of which didn't work (Jaguar's X-Type is the most notable, whose platform was shared with the Ford Mondeo), and some that did. We'll focus on one that did: Jaguar's S-Type, whose engineering was common to the Lincoln LS. Sales didn't set the world on fire for either model, but there is something ageless about both; the Jag embraced a neo-classic theme, while Lincoln's LS is almost timeless within its 3-box, slab-sided architecture. This for-sale example, located in Melbourne, Fla., looks to be in nice condition. If the mileage is accurate and the Carfax reasonably clean, it should provide miles and years of motoring pleasure, even if only driving to your rheumatologist. The LS borders on being a quiet collectible, with less obvious pleasure in the viewing, more obvious delight in the driving; that's especially true with this model's V8. Lincoln Aviator could make a comeback
Tue, Jun 9 2015The idea of Lincoln dropping its alphanumeric scheme in favor of real names was welcomed by fans of the marque and even appeared possible after the rousing reception to the Continental concept. Now, rumors suggest that the next of the luxury brand's nameplates to see a possible revival just might be the Aviator. Don't get your hopes up quite yet, though. The Truth About Cars admits that this tip comes from a second-hand source, but the person reports that Lincoln has a project codenamed Aviator as a model based on the Explorer. There's evidence to give the rumor some shaky support, though. Ford already has the trademarks for the name and AV8R. Also, an Explorer-based vehicle in 2019 is included for the brand's predictions in the recent Car Wars forecast. Autoblog reached out to company spokesperson Sam Locricchio, but he would not speculate about future products. The same source claims to The Truth About Cars that the Blue Oval might not replace the Ford Flex or Lincoln MKT when the current generations come to an end. Also, the next-gen Expedition and Navigator could use 10-speed automatics and follow the F-150 to get aluminum bodies, which is also already rumored. Although, all of this should be taken with a big grain of salt until anything more official has arrived. Lincoln spokesperson Stephane Cesareo gave The Truth About Cars no comment on the rumor, but said, "By 2020, we expect to expand the segments that we participate in by adding two new nameplates to the Lincoln brand.
