For Sale is a gorgeous and yes, somewhat scarce 1997 Lincoln Mark 8 in black on black - one of the lower mileage cars of this year to be found .... and what a good year this one is mechanically.   Beware of some of the earlier models with known issues.    This model was one of the finest models that Lincoln made, recognized as one of the tops in it's class mechanically, truly a great performer.   LOOK HOW GORGEOUS THIS CAR LOOKS IN BLACK ON BLACK !!!!

Many say, "black on black" is what looks best on this car... especially with the rare black carriage top !  (top was $3,000 cost)

It's been very well kept and serviced and runs excellent.    Last oil change at 61,493 on 8/12/14.     New spark plugs and ignition coil for $729 in Dec, 2013.   New battery prior.    New starter assembly for $262 .

Very comfortable interior with those great deep luxurious leather seats... no rips/tears just few minor wear scuffs.    The dash is quite clean along with all door panels.    The cigarette lighter cover hinge broken so loose yet can sit flat in position... non smoker car.   CD changer in trunk, yet may need some help as presently inop.    Stereo works excellent.   A/C very cold AND POWERFUL blowers - almost too strong!!!    All memory seats/wheel work perfect.   Windows up/down great.

Judging from the miles and the condition of the car, primarily used on the highway and it has also been garage kept. No odd smells, no leaks to mention, no odd noises , just a truly enjoyable car.

The exterior is quite nice and straight, yet even for a pampered car, does have a few minor blemishes as can be expected over the years, a few extreme minor door dings and scratches, minor light scuff (not dent) on bumper . Needs a tad of trim to be touched up black (chrome color showing under) that you can view in pic by front light.    The carriage top has very slight rub on edge by door, otherwise great condition and only missing the add on emblem that sat on each side of carriage top... hardly noticeable even missing.  May have a ever so slight micro chip in front windshield as we like to point everything out.      Tires great shape.   Rims very nice, yet may have slight sign of some wear.

The engine is the awesome and very well recognized V8- one of the most powerful in the segment (like the Jaguar)- runs strong and smooth, provides the power you have come to expect from a Mark VIII. The transmission as well and shifts great, no skips ...just purrs smooth.    The car runs great! The engine compartment is very nice.      Control buttons at fingertips on steering wheel.    Great cruiser, tourer, daily..

Includes 1 car key and remote.

This car gets a load of compliments, even being in the sunny southern California car country... with all the other fancy cars... :)

Very enjoyable and can be yours for the right price.   It is , as always priced to sell.

1955 Lincoln Indianapolis concept up for auction

Sat, 21 Sep 2013

Lincoln was never a brand known for making sports cars. In fact it hasn't offered anything with less than four doors since the demise of the Mark VIII, and that was hardly what you'd call "performance oriented". But that doesn't mean that Ford's luxury marque never toyed with the idea.
In 1955 Ford delivered a Lincoln chassis (along with a 200-horsepower V8 engine and four-speed automatic transmission) to Carrozzeria Boano, an Italian coachbuilder that had just branched off from Ghia the year before. The resulting orange coupe you see here was named after Indianapolis and was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show. And while its detailing may have been divisive, the overall shape certainly caught the eye.

Lincoln dealers frustrated over slow MKZ production ramp-up

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

Lincoln has clearly been working hard to get the word out about its 2013 MKZ sedan. The Dearborn automaker has taken out lavish spreads to trumpet its boldly styled new model in magazines of every description, along with placing commercials for both the vehicle and the reborn brand behind it on all manner of television programs, including the super-costly Super Bowl earlier this month.
Pity, then, that Lincoln dealers don't have enough MKZs to sell. According to The Detroit News, parent company Ford has spent a good portion of its time at this week's National Automobile Dealers Association meeting in Florida attempting to pacify upset dealers who don't have enough examples of the pivotal new vehicle in stock.
As the DetNews notes, Lincoln only sold 453 MKZs last month, a whopping 73-percent decrease over the same period last year when the sedan's predecessor was on sale. In fact, the stunted supply had enough impact that Lincoln's January figures worked out to a 32-year low for the brand, just as it's trying to get back on its feet. This, despite the fact that the MKZ is said to have the biggest number of pre-orders in the marque's history.

2017 Lincoln Continental: Was this mic-drop moment just a big flop?

Thu, Jan 21 2016

The Lincoln Continental may have been our fifth-place pick for Best In Show at this year's Detroit Auto Show, but it's probably the one we argued about the most. In fact, we're still talking about it. And we'll no doubt be discussing it long after we finally get to drive the new sedan later this year. We do this with lots of cars, all the time. The Continental is an especially important, high-profile car right now. It has the task of being a torch-holder for the struggling-to-run Lincoln brand, and that's a tough job these days. But did Lincoln do right by its Continental name? Did its Detroit showcar stop us in our tracks, or were we left feeling cold? In an effort to show you our full discussion, we're trying something different. About a week after the Detroit Auto Show press days concluded, Autoblog's Jonathon Ramsey sent an email around to some editors about the Continental to open a discussion. It got heated, and fast. And while we considered summarizing it, we decided to instead post the whole, largely unedited (adjusted for typos and swear words) chain. From: Jonathon Ramsey To: Autoblog Team Does anyone else think it's a problem that the new Continental looks 85 percent like the MKZ? And another 10 percent of it looks like a Jaguar and a Bentley? Because I think Lincoln screwed the pooch. The German Three plus Porsche can make cars that look alike – they've earned the right, even if I'd rather they didn't. The MKZ looks like a car for regional sales reps. Lincoln broke the glass in case of emergency, grabbed the Continental name, then put it on a car that looks a lot like that sales-rep car, but one for regional VPs. Do we really think this can work? Because I don't. From: Steven Ewing To: Autoblog Team Personally, I'm pretty disappointed in the final execution of Continental. I'm glad Lincoln isn't obsessed with chasing the Germans, but at this point, it's not even chasing Cadillac. I think that introducing the new front end and TTV6 engine on the MKZ before the Continental was a huge mistake. And while I have high hopes for the Conti from a comfort/driving standpoint, my gut instinct is that it's going to be more "better than the MKS" than "best American luxury sedan." Introducing the new front end and TTV6 engine on the MKZ before the Continental was a huge mistake.
