Some small scratches. Excellent condition for a 16 year old. People who don't know that its a 1997 model think its a newer vehicle. Front air bags were replaced with an aftermarket setup - however if you leave the car parked for 3-4 days you will notice the front end drop about an inch. Its probably a microscopic leak in the air hose connection - not the new bags. The OD override switch on the shifter doesn't work anymore. It got messed up when I had to take the knob off one time and slid the handle back on. Don't be alarmed because the car is a fine daily driver, I'm just pointing out everything I can think of that isn't just perfect."

Low Reserve under $3999!

This is a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII LSC - 2nd generation Mark VIII. The car runs really smooth. Just about every feature I can think of is fully functional. A/C worked well all summer long. I installed 18 inch ASA rims on 245/45/18 tires. The car was repainted in December, black base/clear. New Hawke performance brake pads all around, new rear disc rotors. The heater blend door actuator was replaced, I installed a double din DVD/Navigation system that runs Android 2.0 and has built-in wifi. Basically use it like an android touch screen tablet / w rear view back up camera. I have not found any rust on the body panels or under the door skins. Front air bags were replaced. Semi custom rear spoiler, modified from a mid 90's Ford Taurus. I painted the spoiler myself and got dirt on it while the paint was wet and tried to sand it off and never went back to reshoot it.. so its scuffed up. A professional body shop could probably reshoot it for $75.

The bad: I noticed a couple of drips of tranny fluid on my garage floor, the ashtray door spring fell off. The brake pedal feels high effort - even after new pads and bleeding the brakes at the calipers, so I believe the problem could be the brake booster.

I almost never drove this car in the rain and definitely never in the snow/ice.

McConaughey's bizarre new Continental ad is perfect parody material

Tue, Dec 20 2016

So let's say you're running a car company and have a luxurious new flagship sedan and need to advertise it. What do you do? Did you answer with "film a commercial with a barely coherent Hollywood actor standing in a pond?" If so, perhaps you work for Lincoln, which brought back Matthew McConaughey to do another bizarre car ad. It starts with McConaughey and a Continental standing on a body of water. He starts talking about staring (or not staring) at the Conti, and then about sitting in the back seat (or not). The ad then cuts to McConaughey in the back who replies to the McConaughey in the front seat. Presumably, there are two McConaugheys at this point, and the front seat one just laughs in a slightly unsettling manner. He then makes a clicking noise, closes the center console and drives away. You can't make this stuff up. It's thoroughly strange, but we can't say we're entirely surprised. When Lincoln first launched some bizarre ads with McConaughey muttering sweet nothings about the MKC, the company got loads of attention. Admittedly a lot of that attention was to make fun of it, but you know the old saying that there's no such thing as bad press. Lincoln even brought him back for an encore in ads for the MKX and MKZ. In truth, we're also glad to see another bizarre Lincoln ad, mostly because we're hoping for another round of great parodies like the classic Jim Carrey spoof that aired on Saturday Night Live. Check out the ad above to see the strangeness. Related Video:

Lincoln Aviator debuts as stylish 3-row crossover with a surprise

Wed, Mar 28 2018

NEW YORK — At a studio in the Meatpacking District in Manhattan, after a walk through an "art gallery" full of inspiration for Lincoln's newest midsize, three-row Aviator crossover, we saw the company's future. That's not breathless hyperbole, either. Lincoln's huge Navigator is selling like gangbusters, but the aging MKT is a sad vestige of the company's last attempt to reinvent itself. The company needs an attractive, well-proportioned three-row with contemporary powertrains to complement the MKC and the larger Nautilus (nee MKX). For those wondering, the MKC is likely to get renamed at its next refresh, and the lousy MK__ naming convention will finally die. But while the names are refreshing, that's not the reason the Aviator is so important. For one, it'll almost certainly lend its underpinnings, which are rear-wheel-drive based, to the next Ford Explorer. The other is that it's an all-important three-row, a conventionally-shaped one rather than the awkward MKT's long, lumpy look. The Aviator — the vehicle we saw is a preview, not a production model, but is extremely close to production — has style and presence. There's more than a bit of Range Rover Velar in the look, but it's not a clone. And the interior is a wonderful interpretation of the larger Navigator's bold, distinctive and purely American look. View 20 Photos While many, many details are unspecified at this stage — including exact engine details, dimensions, and the like — there's enough there to draw some conclusions about the new Aviator. For one, it's got a version of the Navigator's elegant interior. Those Perfect Position seats, also seen in the Continental, covered with soft leather, are central to the Aviator's interior experience. When's the last time beautiful seats were such a selling point? Other than Volvo, no one's put enough attention on unique and particularly comfortable seats. It's a unique selling proposition and, also, a nice aesthetic detail. You could say the same for the dash design: It's low and sleek, with solid but not bulky elements and the sort of tastefulness normally reserved for Scandinavian industrial design. Back to the rear-drive platform and what little else we know of the powertrain. For one, it'll feature a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine with an available plug-in hybrid option. As far as we can tell, both versions will use the same engine, and there are no optional engines outside of this.

Weekly Recap: New bosses try to jump-start Cadillac and Lincoln

Sat, 26 Jul 2014

Both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
It's ironic that Cadillac and Lincoln got new bosses within days of each other this month. It's also a commentary on the fact both of America's domestic luxury brands seem to be stuck in neutral.
