1997 Lincoln Mark Viii Base Sedan 2-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Monroe, North Carolina, United States
For sale 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII with rare factory chrome octastar wheels in VGC with like new kumho tires. Interior very nice with minor wear on driver seat, small tear in sun roof panel . Cold ac and everything works. Looks like LSC with color keyed grill and trim. Only difference being exhaust pipes under vehicle. Paint looks good till you get real close as mentioned. High option car came with telephone, garage door controls in visor, in dash factory CD JBL sound system. Telephone missing still has antenna and place in console for hook up. No key fob but have seen aftermarket fobs for this vehicle very reasonable or factory of course. Have recently replaced spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel pump delivery module, fuel filter, battery, brake pedal park lock-out switch, ballast for full width neon taillight(s), mass air flow, temperature control panel and more. Vehicle runs smooth and powerful, shifts good drives straight and has never been wrecked. No leaks or smoke. Front brake pads just hit wear indicator. Too low to drive out on the road without air ride attention. Could be check valve malfunction. Air pump runs fine. But shuts off like its supposed to if problem. Maybe need to clean connector at or near bag(s). Wanted to keep vehicle but recent health issues, money and other Lincoln vehicles have warranted selling.

Ford investing $5B in Lincoln
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Lincoln Aviator warning and alert sounds are played by an orchestra
Mon, Nov 5 2018Lincoln used members of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to create alert chimes for its new Aviator SUV. Luxury manufacturers are always looking for more ways to increase the level of ambiance, and Lincoln went so far as to contract some of the best musicians in the world to create a more comfortable atmosphere. In total, the musicians created six different alert chimes for 25 different alerts the Aviator could provide. The alert chimes fall into three different categories Lincoln uses for warnings: non-critical, soft-warning chimes and hard-warning chimes. They are all made using a blend of percussion instruments, violin and viola. Lincoln plans to expand the instrumental sounds across its entire lineup eventually. These chimes will represent warnings for things like an open fuel door, unbuckled seat belt, the lowering of the power liftgate and plenty more. It's not a bad day when leaving your headlights on or door open lead to a pleasant musical sound coming from your speakers. All the sounds seem appropriate for their particular functions, and do sound more pleasing than the normal alerts. Lincoln says the musicians initially came up with 125 different sound options before they narrowed it down to just six. While it might feel a bit gimmicky at face value, a calming sound playing versus an annoying beep might reduce in-car aggravation. The Aviator with these warning sounds will be revealed at the LA Auto Show at the end of the month as well. It was originally shown as a close-to-production-looking concept car at the NY Auto Show earlier this year. All the official production details will be coming in LA. We'll be there in-person to tell you if these new musical chimes are a win. Lincoln Aviator warning chimes View 5 Photos Related video:
