1989 Lincoln Mark Vii 5.0 H.o., Rat Rod, For Resto, Parts on 2040-cars
Rossville, Illinois, United States
This car was a show car/daily driver. I am selling this car because I bought another Hot Rod. This car is in excellent mechanical shape with 50,000 miles on the engine, trans, and rear-end. The engine is a 5.0 H.O. and has the following mechanical specs; 9.5-1 compression ratio, Stock Roller Cam, 65mm throttle body, plenum spacer, Ford Racing push rods, throttle body enhancer, hypo under-drive pulley, Roller rocker arms, after market headers, Ford racing wires, reverse trick flow mufflers, and is rated at 300-350 h.p. (est) Ford Racing 3.73 rear end, shift kit, flex fan. I did have a minor fender bender with it which I fixed. I put a new fender on it , fixed the header, hood and put a new bumper on it. This car would make a perfect rat rod, project car, work or parts car. Loaded with options, most work except, door locks, d/s window (it gets power but wont go up or down.) cruise, power trunk, one power mirror works, the heater/ac console, the air ride suspension has a mind of its own, but has newer air bags, the power brake booster works when it wants, or else works like manual brakes. ABS doesnt work, (I have another master cylinder) cracked windshield, the paint job need to be wet sanded and re-shot with clear, there is some clear chipping off of the paint. Rusting out (mildly) at the bottom of the fenders and need a new ignition switch. The A/C clutch has a weak spring, otherwise, it holds a charge. I am taking the radio and antenna off of it. The doors, hood, and trunk show no signs of rust. The interior door panels are in good shape. I re-dyed the carpeting which needs touch-up, and covered the header, visors and head-liner with a silk-like material. The dash is cracked. The front seats were recently reupholstered. The back seat is in good condition. Rugs are in good condition. The trunk is clean. I have described this car to the best of my ability. I make no warranty or guarantee of this car , implied or otherwise. Car sold as is. This car is drivable. You will have to change the ignition switch or hold on to it or jam it with something to keep it totally on the on position. Please contact me with any questions or additional pics. This car is fun to drive and handles real well and it‘s fast. Also has excellent mid-range and top end. The engine and trans are worth more than I am asking for this car. Buyer is responsible for their own pickup arrangements. |

Ford recalling 390,000 cars over door latch woes
Fri, Apr 24 2015Ford is recalling certain Fiesta, Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles due to faulty door latches, marking the latest in what seems to be a recurring issue for the Blue Oval. This is the third door latch recall from Ford in 2015, following a 213,000-unit recall in March and a 205,000-unit recall in January. This one, however, is significantly larger. A total of 390,000 units are affected, including Fusions and MKZs from model years 2013 and 2014, as well as Fiestas from model years 2012 to 2014. A "broken pawl spring tab" is the culprit, potentially keeping doors from latching shut. According to Ford, even if the door does shut, it could come open again without warning. The affected Fiestas were built between February 1, 2012 and May 31, 2013 at the Cuautitlan, Mexico factory. The Fusion and MKZ siblings, meanwhile, were screwed together at Hermosillo Assembly in Mexico between July 1, 2012 to May 31, 2013. Ford is aware of three minor reports of door malfunctions. In two cases, the door bounced back open, quite literally hitting drivers on their way out. In the third case, a door swung open of its own accord while a driver was attempting to park, hitting another vehicle. Ford will notify owners, who will need to report into dealers to have all four latches replaced. Scroll down for the official press release. Related Video: APR 24, 2015 | DEARBORN, MICH. FORD MOTOR COMPANY ISSUES SAFETY RECALL IN NORTH AMERICA FOR DOOR LATCH ISSUE ON FORD FIESTA AND FUSION, LINCOLN MKZ Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 390,000 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta and 2013-2014 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ vehicles for a door latch issue. The door latch in these vehicles may experience a broken pawl spring tab, which typically results in a condition where the door will not latch. If a customer is then able to latch the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, increasing the risk of injury. Ford is aware of two allegations of soreness resulting from an unlatched door bouncing back when the customer attempted to close it, and one accident allegation when an unlatched door swung open and struck an adjacent vehicle as the driver was pulling into a parking space. Affected vehicles include certain 2012-2014 Ford Fiesta vehicles built at Cuautitlan Assembly Plant, Feb.
Lincoln MKC prototype spied out testing
Wed, 20 Mar 2013As was the case with the Lincoln MKZ, it appears that Lincoln isn't wasting any time getting its newest model transformed from concept to production form. We just saw the MKC Concept earlier this year at the Detroit Auto Show, and based on these spy shots, it looks like the final touches are being put in place for the 2014 Lincoln MKC crossover.
Sharing its platform with the Ford Escape, we can definitely see some similarities between these two compact crossovers when it comes to the roofline and daylight opening, but through the heavy camouflage, Lincoln's signature split-wing grille can easily be seen and it looks like the concept's taillights will also make it to reality. On the disappointing side, it looks like the integrated exhaust outlets are being ditched for some round outlets, and we can't tell if the production version will keep the Audi-like clamshell rear liftgate.
Sunday Drive: Trucks and SUVs of all shapes and sizes
Sun, Nov 5 2017The American automotive marketplace is dominated by trucks and SUVs, and so was the last week of coverage on Autoblog. By far, the most popular story of the week was our First Drive of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. It may look like an old-school lumberer, but in reality Lincoln's flagship is a thoroughly modern, turbocharged-V6-powered, three-row, luxury people mover. The Jeep Wrangler is the world's most recognizable vehicle. So it's no surprise that the next version looks a whole heck of a lot like the last one, and the one before. It's all in the details, which is why we were so excited when Jeep decided to unleash a trio of images showing both two- and four-door Wranglers for us to dissect ahead of the SUV's official debut at the L.A. Auto Show later this year. Past that, spy photos of the next Chevy Silverado and Ram 1500 were predictably popular. See both of those below, and the cap it all off, check out the entire week's worth of SEMA coverage – including the bonkers Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 – in our mega image gallery at the bottom of this post. Enjoy! As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. 2018 Lincoln Navigator First Drive | From black sheep to flagship 2018 Jeep Wrangler revealed: First photos released before L.A.
