It does need a tailpipeLandau top opera windows are peeling back vinyl caulk was used to stop there progressThere is a small crease in the passenger lower doorDoor rubber seals are weak could use replacementPassenger power seat inop drivers seat just goes forward and backOriginal 8-track radio is not installed in the dash there are no speakers They had been removed by previous ownerSmall chip in windshieldNo rips in upholstery however drivers and passenger seat shows moderate wearDrivers side door ajar button has slipped into door panel light remains onAir conditioning has been retrofitted to R-12 could use 2 more cans of fillNICE"

I purchased this 1979 Lincoln Mark V in Northern Arizona Ivada  June, 2013 from its original owner. The car was driven to Las Vegas, Nevada and put in my garage with the intentions of keeping it. My personal plans have changed and have decided to put the car
up for sale here.

Although the car is not showroom perfect  it is very clean  and does run well.  Please review the items I have found need attention.  The car does not lack in performance  The engine and transmission are very strong.

I purchased the car for quite a bit more than what I'm willing to sell it for here So my loss is your gain on this one

I replaced the front rotors and pads  but the lines could use additional bleeding There is some air in the system but the brakes are strong.  The car is a bit louder than it should be since there is just a muffler and no tailpipe It would need a cross pipe and tailpipe
and that will make it quiet The muffler is new

The body is very nice  It appears it was repainted a number of years ago  with good paint  There is no filler or bondo that I have observed   There is a small crease (pictured) in the bottom portion of the passenger door

For those that know this carI remind you  that this was the last year the Mark V was produced in this size

I don't need to tell anyone that it has always been one of the premier 2 door coupe American luxury cars ever produced

A fine automobile to add to any collection or to e driven daily

Ford recalling 850,000 cars and SUVs for airbag issues

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

Ford has announced a major recall of 850,000 vehicles from model years 2013 and 2014 due to a problem with the "restraints control module."
According to Ford, a short circuit could develop in the module, causing the airbag warning light to illuminate. In more severe cases, dependent on where the short develops, the airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners may not work in the event of an accident. The problems can be more wide-ranging than that, too, as systems that rely on information from the control module, such as the stability control can be affected.
With 850,000 vehicles affected, it's no surprise that some of Ford's volume leaders are covered. That includes the Fusion and Lincoln MKZ sedans, as well as the incredibly recall-prone Escape and the C-Max MPV.

Junkyard Gem: 1977 Lincoln Continental Mark V

Mon, Feb 27 2017

For the 1977 model year, Ford debuted the new Lincoln Continental Mark V, one of the biggest of the personal luxury coupes that were all the rage during the era. While 400 pounds lighter than its Mark IV predecessor, the Mark V was still a thirsty, 4,652-pound symbol of American exceptionalism. Here's an example of a first-year Mark V, spotted in a San Francisco Bay Area self-service wrecking yard. If we are to judge from the sun-baked interior, top-down rust, and moss growing on the bodywork, this car spent at least 20 years decaying outdoors before coming here. Still, flashes of its original opulence may be seen here and there. For example, the Cartier clock (which probably failed by about 1983). There were Cartier Edition Mark Vs (along with Givenchy and Pucci versions), but all the Mark Vs got the Cartier clocks. With the 1973 Oil Crisis just a few years behind and the 1979 Oil Crisis a couple of years ahead, some attempt to improve fuel economy was needed in the engine compartment. This car has the 400-cubic-inch version of the 351 Cleveland V8, rated at 179 woefully inadequate horsepower and 329 good-enough pound-feet of torque. Outside of California, the 208-horse 460-cubic-inch V8 was an option. These cars were very comfortable on the highway, with their soft springs and cushy seats. No, the wood isn't real. Worth restoring? No way, not when you can find nice one-owner examples for four figures. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Lincoln Chauffeur service will drive you around and do your shopping

Wed, Apr 12 2017

Lincoln is launching a unique service in Miami this year called Lincoln Chauffeur, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Any Lincoln owner can request someone via an app to come to their house and drive him or her wherever they'd like. That driver will then drive the car back. Lincoln pointed out this will allow other household members to use the car, and even helps avoid having to pay for parking when going to the airport. A representative said that a driver could be sent to a bar or restaurant to pick up a car left in favor of a cab after drinking. In addition to driving you to a location, the driver can also go and fill up your Lincoln with fuel and run other errands. Need some groceries? Your Lincoln driver can do that. And the Lincoln drivers are employed and vetted by Lincoln. If you find a driver you like, you can also request that person and Lincoln will try to accommodate your request. The service is currently in the pilot stage and only available in Miami. The next city that will get access to the service is San Diego. However, the plan is to continue expanding. It's also available for all Lincoln owners, new and old, not just members of Lincoln Black Label. Buyers of any new Lincoln will be given the equivalent of eight hours free in the service. This is a significant perk, since Lincoln said the estimated cost is $30 per hour of use at the current pilot pricing. Related Video:
