1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V Givenchy Edition. NO RESERVE!! This car will sell, so be prepared to bid! I purchased this car from the family of the original owner. It has 53,039 miles on it which I believe to be actual. The engine is a 400 2bbl which runs great. The car is equipped with all the standard options all of the Mark Series has, like power locks, seats (both), windows, trunk release, interval-wipers, cruise control, AM/FM/8-track radio with remote seek (working), rear defrost, etc. The things which I know are not working are the passenger door-lock actuator and the A/C, which needs a recharge (compressor is free and connected). Exhaust is new and carb has been recently rebuilt. The car starts and runs very well and all the other options I mentioned are working properly. It tracks straight on the highway and rides like only a Lincoln does! One other mechanical component which needs attention is a bushing in the steering linkage which is sloppy. It does not affect the driveability of the car, but is annoying as the wheel turns slightly before the steering engages the steering gear. It is a common problem for Marks which I haven't gotten around to fixing. The car doesn't appear to have had any Winter use at all as it is very clean and all original so far as I can tell. The pinstripes are all intact and all the paint matches from panel to panel and is very glossy. This IS an original car and IS NOT flawless. I would call it an exceptional example of an original 34 year-old vehicle, but it does have chips which have been touched up with the correct paint. It is not banged up, dented, or full of dings. The original owner clearly took good care of it and I have had it in climate-controlled storage. The original spare is in the trunk and appears to have never left as it still has blue residue on the whitewall and the seams on the tread show no wear whatsoever. The interior is outstanding and really needs nothing. The original floor mats are intact and the carpet is excellent. The dash and arm-rests have no cracking at all, and all of the glass is good. The rear-view mirror on the passenger side swivels around a bit and probably needs to be disassembled and tightened up. I have done my best to accurately describe this car. It is not my wish to mislead anyone about anything whatsoever, so if you have specific questions about the car please ask, and you can count on an honest answer. If there are views of the car you would like me to provide, please message me and I will get them to you ASAP. Please feel free to call if you would like to talk more about the car of ask me any questions. I have been collecting Lincolns for nearly 20 years and am very familiar with these cars. Thank you for looking! -John 701-729-6839 Buyer will be required to provide a non-refundable $500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end time.

These are the slowest-selling new cars of 2024
Fri, Apr 26 2024While overall sales numbers are a solid indicator of an automaker’s success, another metric can show how well its new vehicles resonate with buyers on the ground. iSeeCars recently released a list of the fastest- and slowest-selling new car companies on the market, and a handful of brands appear to have some catching up to do. Lincoln landed the “top spot” among slow-selling brands, taking an average of 82.6 days to move inventory. Infiniti wasnÂ’t much better, at 79.8 days, and Buick came third with 79 days to sell. Slowest-selling new cars of 2024 Lincoln: 82.6 days to sell Infiniti: 79.8 Buick: 79 Audi: 75.1 Ram: 69.7 Ford: 68.1 Dodge: 67.4 GMC: 66.6 Acura: 65.4 Lexus: 64.5 iSeeCars executive analyst Karl Brauer noted that the fastest-selling brands, which include Toyota, Alfa Romeo, and Cadillac, likely move inventory because they resonate with buyersÂ’ desire for value and a compelling product. The study also noted that seeing GMC, Ford, and Ram so low on the list likely indicates slowing truck sales, which comprise a significant portion of those brandsÂ’ numbers. ItÂ’s also possible that buyers are turned off by higher prices from those brands. Fast-selling new car brands also appeared on the used car list, where Honda, Lexus, and Toyota dominated. Unfortunately for Lincoln, it also made the slow-selling used list, between Maserati as the slowest and Alfa Romeo in third. iSeeCarsÂ’ analysis also examined EV and hybrid sales and found that hybrids tend to sell much faster than their electric counterparts. In March 2024, new hybrids took an average of 49.5 days to sell, while EVs took 70.6 days. That again brings us to the price and value arguments, where hybrids are significantly less expensive than EVs, though charging and range concerns also likely play a role. Dodge Dart falls short of Consumer Reports Recommended, Caddy XTS and Lincoln MKS, too
Thu, 22 Nov 2012The Dodge Dart, Cadillac XTS and Lincoln MKS all failed to earn a "Recommended" rating from Consumer Reports. When it came to the compact Dart, the organization's testers thought the vehicle offered a quiet cabin, solid-feeling chassis and nimble suspension, but the new model ultimately fell short of the coveted rating due to powertrain issues. The institute's reviewers found the base 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine to be underpowered and noted "drivability issues" when the available turbocharged 1.4-liter four was paired with the optional dual-clutch transmission (some of our editors disliked it paired with the six-speed manual). CR also dinged the latter powerplant for sounding "raspy." For what it's worth, we think the forced-induction engine offers an excellent and playful exhaust note, but that's just us.
As for the XTS, CR lauded the car for its luxurious cabin, but the vehicle's experience was dulled by its finicky CUE infotainment interface. Overall, the big Cadillac scored much higher than its cross-town rival from Lincoln. While testers found the American luxury sedan to offer a quiet ride and quality fit and finish, they felt the MKS delivered a "cramped driving position, ungainly handling, uncomposed ride, and limited visibility." Ouch. At the end of the day, both cars fell short of rivals from Japan, Germany and Korea. Check out the full press release below with more details, along with CR's musings on the Chevrolet Spark and Lexus ES.
Lincoln MKX Concept announces impending launch in China
Sun, 20 Apr 2014Lincoln has finally dropped the details on the MKX Concept after a few days of teasing. Set for a very important global debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, we're going to have to see this conceptualized version of the third-generation MKX in person before we can draw any real conclusions on the effectiveness of its design.
One of the things Lincoln will need to do to succeed is deliver something to customers that's unique to the brand's vehicles, which are exclusively rebadged models from parent company Ford. We're not sure this is going to be distinctive enough.
Unlike its last new vehicle, the Navigator, the work done on the MKX is smooth and refined. The stance of the vehicle, with its 21-inch wheels, is aggressive enough. Viewed from the profile, the overhangs appear rather short, while character lines keep it from looking slabsided. In front, we might be witnessing the cleanest interpretation yet of Lincoln's twin grilles. The headlights are slim and stylish, and we're digging the shape and style of the mirrors, which feature integrated turn signals that outline the mirror cap.
