I'm selling this vehicle for my 82 year old Father who is suffering with alzheimer's disease. Because of this, I can't not ask him any questions regarding this car. My Father owned this vehicle nearly 30 years. It was stored in a garage 99% of the time, usually taken out twice a year to display at a local automotive show. During the many years that he owned this car, all he ever did was just wash and wax it.
Condition: To the best of my knowledge he never had any mechanical or body work done. The odometer shows approximately 48,000 miles, I'm almost certain that he never drove it for more than 5,000 miles during the entire time he owned it. The tires have decent tread but are mismatched, probably should be replaced as they have been sitting for years. A/C does not blow cold. RH door ashtray lid does not stay closed. Power door locks , electric antenna and cigar lighter do not function. Not all of the electric seat adjusting switches work. There is a spare tire but it is not mounted on a wheel. Hide away headlamp doors must have a slow vacuum leak as they do not stay closed overnight. I was not able to check the cruise control on my short test drive. Engine starts right up and ran fairly well. Transmission shifted smoothly. Good brakes. The body and paint are in good condition but do have various dings, paint chips, scratches and surface rust. If you are interested in owning a low mileage classic car that needs some TLC to bring it back to its original glory then this car might be for you.
Early History: From what I recall, this car started its life in Iowa. The owner had driven it for several years accumulating approximately 40,000 miles on it. It was then stolen, the thieves eventually parked the car in a muti-level parking garage where it remained for years. The parking garage must have been managed by idiots because it took years for them to notice the car and alert the authorities. My Father then purchased the car from the insurance company that had paid the claim for the stolen car. This history was told to me by word of mouth and I can't verify any of it. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms
Mon, 17 Jun 2013Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.
Lincoln cancels plan to build electric vehicle on Rivian's platform
Tue, Apr 28 2020Just three months ago, Lincoln announced a project to build a vehicle atop Rivian’s skateboard platform. Today, itÂ’s canceling those plans. Automotive News originally reported the news, and a Lincoln spokesperson confirmed it to us. Lincoln reportedly informed dealers of its decision to cancel the electric project earlier today, citing the “current environment.” Language like that these days in the automotive industry refers to the coronavirus pandemic and flailing vehicle sales. Originally, Lincoln announced that this model would launch in 2022. It was to be built using the same platform underpinning the Rivian R1S and R1T. The partnership with Rivian was so close that this Lincoln was going to be built at RivianÂ’s Normal, IL assembly plant. Production of the plant itself was halted recently in the face of the coronavirus, which is bad news for any products meant to be built there in the near future. Lincoln never announced that this vehicle was going to be an SUV, but that was the likely result of it using RivianÂ’s platform designed for rugged and large utility vehicles. However, Lincoln says it still has plans to build an electric vehicle. The companyÂ’s statement follows: “Given the current environment, Lincoln and Rivian have decided not to pursue the development of a fully electric vehicle based on RivianÂ’s skateboard platform. Our strategic commitment to Lincoln, Rivian and electrification remains unchanged and LincolnÂ’s future plans will include an all-electric vehicle consistent with its Quiet Flight DNA.” Lincoln hasnÂ’t specified any product details or timing for when this mystery electric vehicle will launch. It could be based off the Mustang Mach-E platform, or it could be a larger vehicle based off the future electric F-150 platform. The former could launch sooner, while the latter is likely a little ways out still. Lincoln doesnÂ’t want this news to be read as a loosening of ties between itself and Rivian either. “Our partnership with Rivian is strong,” LincolnÂ’s statement reads. “While the Lincoln electric vehicle did not turn out to be the right opportunity, we continue to work closely together with Rivian. Our strategic commitment remains unchanged and we will continue to work with Rivian on an alternative vehicle based on RivianÂ’s skateboard platform.” As of now, Lincoln hasnÂ’t revealed exactly what didnÂ’t line up to make the planned collaboration work.
