This is a 1972 Lincoln Mark IV with a removable top. Top was professionally removed 25 years ago and a vinyl roof was made using quality products and a 1940's Ford rear window. This car has shaved door handles, but no actuators installed, so you have to open the doors from the inside of the car, thus you have to leave a window down all the time to be able to open the doors (electric actuators could be installed). There is some body issues with the car as seen in the pics. The top was removed over 25 years ago and the fiberglass is starting to peel up around the base of the top. There is a maroon boot that was professionally made tat snaps into place around the base of the top when it is removed, it covers a lot of the defects. The power switches were all removed from the doors and put into a central panel on the floor and this was professionally upholstered when the interior was redone about 20 years ago. The car has the 460 V8, auto trans and runs well, but has 5 year old gas in the tank, just got it out of storage. It stalls sometimes when coming to a stop, it will start right back up again, but thought you should know. Tires are like new, has Keystone spoke wheels, missing one center cap. Not sure if the A/C works, it did as of five years ago, but not sure now. There has been 1/4" steel added to the frame so that it is not weak with the top removed. Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch
Tue, 16 Jul 2013A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
Matthew McConaughey dusts off his Lincoln Lawyer jacket [w/videos]

Easygoing Texan Matthew McConaughey has enjoyed a career renaissance recently with critically acclaimed roles in Dallas Buyers Club and True Detective, and the actor has just signed a multi-year deal with Lincoln to become the luxury brand's spokesperson. The first ads starring McConaughey should hit televisions and the internet soon.
McConaughey's campaign has his pitching starting out with the company's pivotal new 2015 Lincoln MKC compact crossover. "Lincoln is an iconic, American brand and I like where they are heading with their transformation," he said in the announcement of the deal. The appears to be really throwing some money into these ads, too. Not only has it hired A-list talent in front of the camera, Nicolas Winding Refn, best known for Drive, is directing the spots.
Of course, this won't be McConaughey's first noteworthy ride in a Lincoln. Back in 2011, he starred in The Lincoln Lawyer, a legal thriller about at attorney would did business out of a 1980s Town Car. The MKC should certainly prove to be a much better driver than that.
Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion

For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.
