1971 Lincoln Continental Mark
III being offered for sale. 1971 saw the Golden Anniversary for the
Lincoln marque and the third and final year of the Mark III.
Little changed from the 1970 model; tinted glass became standard, as did automatic climate controlled air conditioning and SureTrak anti-lock brakes. Horsepower remained unchanged at 365, but the 460cid V8 engine gained a more sophisticated thermostatic air cleaner assembly with its associated ductwork. This Lincoln has had a complete engine rebuild and balancing around 3 year ago including all belts, hoses, fuel pump, water pump, coil, all plugs and wires, along with vacuum lines, front brakes, new power brake booster, new distributor. I have supporting documentation. The seats, headliner and carpeting are in excellent condition. Straight body lines with a beautiful black pearl paint job makes this car a real head turner.Barone 15" wire wheels with new tires. |

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.
Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch
Tue, 16 Jul 2013A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
