HERE IS A GORGEOUS LOOKING AND HIGHLY OPTIONED 1957 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK II THAT HAS BEEN PREVIOUSLY BODY-ON RESTORED AND IS A TURN-KEY DRIVER. VERY ORIGINAL CAR WITH 38K MILES ON THE ODOMETER!

Please e-mail me with questions or to set up an inspection to see the car in person. AUCTION MAY BE STOPPED AT ANY TIME.

This is one of 500 or so Mark II's produced in 1957. These were "benchmark" cars offered by Lincoln, and were basically all hand made, sort of like Rolls Royces back in the day. They were used to promote the brand, but were so expensive to build that the company nearly lost money on every one they sold, thus explaining the very few numbers of presentable to fine examples still around today.

Vehicle came out of Wisconsin. This car was acquired from the 3rd owner I believe. It had an older body-on restoration presumably done in the late 1990s to early 2000s. Since I've acquired it I did lots of small things to the car, mostly in the form of service work and maintenance as it didn't need much else to be a nice driver. Radiator was completely recored a few months ago. The transmission was completely rebuilt, NEW engine gaskets insalled, NEW hoses, NEW brakes all around including NEW master cylinder done in 2007 per receipts.Car runs/drives like a dream, very quiet and very smooth. Odometer shows 38k miles.

Under the hood lies the MATCHING NUMBERS 368ci V8 motor that is virtually all stock other than the aftermarket air cleaner. Starts up nicely and idles beautifully.

Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears. Brakes have been overhauled and stop great. Car feels great, handles the road nicely, sounds fairly quiet and is very responsive with little if any play in the steering wheel.

Interior is virtually all stock as you'll see in the pictures and was all RECENTLY REDONE COMPLETELY. NEW seat covers throughout, NEW carpeting, NEW door panels, NEW headliner, etc. etc. Steering wheel has various cracks throughout. Dash looks in good shape as well with minor wear. Overall beautifully presentable for a high-end driver.

Chrome is very presentable as well. Front bumper is very nice, rear one is presentable with a couple of areas where it has been touched up.

Underside is notorious on these cars for varying greatly from car to car, as these cars were basically all hand built back in the 50s. This particular Lincoln is in fair/good shape overall. Floors appear to be in fair shape with no large holes anywhere. Frame appears solid, with a couple of areas where there may have been small patches. Heavy undercoating evident, as is common with these (i've had a couple in the past and they all look the same). Overall fairly good shape.

The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is overall GOOD with FAIRLY NICE shine but could definitely use a good wetsand and buff by a professionally to really make it shine (some touch-ups, small chips here and there, and other minor imperfections as you would expect). Hood needs minor adjustment as it sits a little high towards the windshield, but opens and closes fine. No rust appearing from outside the car other than a few tiny bubbles where the rear wheel openings had a couple of metal patches. Not working: all gauges (cluster needs reconditioning), wipers, rear power windows, parking brake. Small exhaust leak. Windshield and passenger wing window have small pellet cracks from stones hitting it, while passenger front window has a tiny crack.

I am sure there are several other things I am forgetting at the moment, so overall she is not perfect and to do it justice should be gently restored to your liking, or you can just drive it as is. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 50 years old so keep that in mind.

If you just want a GOOD LOOKING AND SUPER FUN DRIVER that runs/drives BEAUTIFULLY, then this is the car for you. If you want a concourse correct show car, it will need a considerable amount of restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

Lincoln owners in San Diego, your chauffeur awaits

Fri, May 12 2017

In an effort to make up lost market share, Lincoln is trying desperately to differentiate itself from other luxury automakers. The automaker is offering and expanding a number of services aimed at setting itself apart not only from Mercedes-Benz, Lexus, and Audi, but also the Fords that so often share showroom space. One such offering, the Lincoln Chauffeur, is expanding beyond its initial rollout in Miami, Florida, across the country to San Diego, California. The concept is simple. For $30/hour, a chauffeur will drive you around in your own vehicle, stopping at the store, the gas station, or even at school to pick up the kids. The chauffeur can do these things with or without you present, meaning the driver can drop you off at the airport and return the car home, allowing others to use the car rather than leaving it parked at the airport. The service is available to old and new Lincoln owners, though the former get eight free hours to try the service. San Diego was part of a planned expansion. If things continue to go well, look for further rollouts in cities across the country. Related Video: News Source: Lincoln via Automotive News Lincoln Ownership

2019 Lincoln Nautilus commercials bring back Matthew McConaughey, plus pool

Fri, Dec 21 2018

It's that time of year again, folks, time for another kind of strange, awkward Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercial. And, yes, checking back when each ad comes out, it's usually in Decemeber or near the end of the year that these ads are released. This latest ad has the actor hanging out with a group of friends having a generic conversation about something over dinner. They all then head inside, and McConaughey breaks away from the group to walk to a pool table, and he promptly makes a trick shot on the pool table while a woman says "I've never seen that before." This leads to clips of McConaughey getting into a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus and driving it on beautiful backroads. And before he starts driving, there's a shot of the instrument cluster with a bunch of driver aid options displayed. The woman's words come in again, and he follows it up with his own words, "I have." This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Basically, the idea is that the trick shot of the cue ball threading between other billiard balls is like how the Lincoln driver aids help keep the Nautilus under control. Except it's a vague, awkward way of doing it, which is also par (above par?) for the course of McConaughey Lincoln ads. A much better ad accompanies the actor's version. This one features a real trick pool player making some clever shots to illustrate the individual features available on the luxury crossover. They're legitimately nifty shots, and the features are clearly explained. Maybe all of Lincoln's ads should have this pool player. Related Video:

Lincoln MKC crossover adopts the Continental's grille

Thu, Jun 15 2017

The last vestiges of the controversial split Lincoln grille are slowly being removed as the company revamps its lineup. It started with the MKZ and Continental, with the most recent rhinoplasty recipient being the Navigator. Now, based on spy shots, it looks like the MKC crossover will be the fourth to get the new corporate grille. Under the heavy vinyl coverings, we can clearly see the proud Continental-inspired grille. We can also see that it will feature the same chrome mesh with Lincoln badge-shaped openings found on other cars with the grille design. We can also assume that the headlights will receive a substantial refresh, but the lower bumper doesn't look particularly different. The rest of this prototype MKC looks the same as the existing model. The back is covered, which indicates that the taillights may be updated. We wouldn't expect a radically different look, since the MKC already has a full-width taillight treatment. We also noticed that the wheels appear to be inspired by the cool turbine wheels of the Navigator. Whatever the other changes are, we'll probably see them soon. This is clearly just a refresh, and so there's a good chance we'll see the production model revealed by the end of the year, or early next year at the latest. Related Video:
