You didn't think a few spoofs were going to break up Lincoln and pitch-man Matthew McConaughey, did you? With more than three million extra free views of Lincoln products on YouTube because of the send-ups – and no one is making fun of the car, remember – the brand rightly concludes, "We couldn't ask for better." That's why the pair are back, this time working on behalf of the MKZ and MKZ Hybrid. The two commercials "Balance" and "Diner" are new, but the formula is the same - cinematic, contemplative, channeling more than a bit of True Detective. 2019 Lincoln Nautilus commercials bring back Matthew McConaughey, plus pool

It's that time of year again, folks, time for another kind of strange, awkward Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercial. And, yes, checking back when each ad comes out, it's usually in Decemeber or near the end of the year that these ads are released. This latest ad has the actor hanging out with a group of friends having a generic conversation about something over dinner. They all then head inside, and McConaughey breaks away from the group to walk to a pool table, and he promptly makes a trick shot on the pool table while a woman says "I've never seen that before." This leads to clips of McConaughey getting into a 2019 Lincoln Nautilus and driving it on beautiful backroads. And before he starts driving, there's a shot of the instrument cluster with a bunch of driver aid options displayed. Basically, the idea is that the trick shot of the cue ball threading between other billiard balls is like how the Lincoln driver aids help keep the Nautilus under control. Except it's a vague, awkward way of doing it, which is also par (above par?) for the course of McConaughey Lincoln ads. A much better ad accompanies the actor's version. This one features a real trick pool player making some clever shots to illustrate the individual features available on the luxury crossover. Lincoln Aviator to return as a concept in New York

The keen Canadian eyes at Autoguide spotted on Lincoln Canada's Twitter feed that the Lincoln Aviator will be resurrected at the 2018 New York Auto Show in two weeks, albeit in concept car form. Given that today's Continental and Navigator were previewed with thinly veiled concepts, it's therefore safe to assume that we'll eventually see a production Aviator. According to Automotive News back in 2016, Aviator should be a three-row crossover based on the next-generation Explorer. The original sold from 2002 to 2005 was also based on the Ford Explorer, and although relatively well-received by car reviewing types at the time, it never caught on with the buying public. Its failure is still a bit surprising given the similar SUV fever of that era. The resurrection of the Aviator name also coincides with the return of Continental and the introduction of Nautilus, which replaces the MKX.
