2000 Lincoln Ls Base Sedan 4-door 3.9l on 2040-cars
Saint Louis, Missouri, United States
Very nice condition car, RUNS GREAT. V8 automatic, 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS. Sunroof, cruise, AM/FM cassette and 5 CD disc changer. AC, heat, front and rear defrost, leather interior. Power front seats with 2-Memory drivers seat. Power windows, locks, gas door. Remote fob for trunk and door locks. Brand new battery, tires have less than 1000 miles on them, pretty sure. Has a few parking lot dings and scratches, superficial stuff. Everything works that I know of, except the computer continues to throw a "change oil" at every start up, which is easily enough removed by pressing the reset button. Glove box door needs a stop arm, as it drops to the floor. Serpentine belt, fan motors, fan pump, alternator, water pump and thermostat changed at 116,000 miles. I have the engine cover, I just removed it to show the engine better. SELLING AS IS, WHERE IS, no warranty or guarantees of any kind. Your bid is not an invitation to "think about it;" serious buyers only. I am selling this car at a reasonable price because we simply don't drive it any longer, having moved on to newer 4WD vehicles necessary at our property. If it does not sell, I will probably drive it awhile longer. Car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction if the vehicle sells.

Lincoln MKX Concept announces impending launch in China
Sun, 20 Apr 2014Lincoln has finally dropped the details on the MKX Concept after a few days of teasing. Set for a very important global debut at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, we're going to have to see this conceptualized version of the third-generation MKX in person before we can draw any real conclusions on the effectiveness of its design.
One of the things Lincoln will need to do to succeed is deliver something to customers that's unique to the brand's vehicles, which are exclusively rebadged models from parent company Ford. We're not sure this is going to be distinctive enough.
Unlike its last new vehicle, the Navigator, the work done on the MKX is smooth and refined. The stance of the vehicle, with its 21-inch wheels, is aggressive enough. Viewed from the profile, the overhangs appear rather short, while character lines keep it from looking slabsided. In front, we might be witnessing the cleanest interpretation yet of Lincoln's twin grilles. The headlights are slim and stylish, and we're digging the shape and style of the mirrors, which feature integrated turn signals that outline the mirror cap.
Automakers tussle over owners of 'orphan' makes
Thu, 10 May 2012When General Motors put down several of its brands in recent years, it also let loose thousands of brand-loyal customers who will eventually need another car.
R.L. Polk Associates estimates there are more than 18 million cars from 16 discontinued makes on the road today. Those "orphan owners" have sales-hungry competitors seeing dollar signs. GM is offering Saturn owners $1,000 cash toward a Chevy Cruze, Cadillac CTS or a GMC Acadia. Ford is giving its Mercury lease customers a chance to get out of their contracts with no early-termination penalty and offering to waive six remaining payments if they drive off in a Ford or Lincoln.
Edmunds.com research shows the efforts are paying off somewhat for GM, with 39 percent of Pontiac owners, 37 percent of Hummer owners and 31 percent of Saturn owners taking delivery of another GM-branded vehicle. But that leaves as much as 69 percent of owners going elsewhere. Ford, Honda and Toyota seem to be attracting many former GM owners.
Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC
Tue, 26 Aug 2014Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.
