Lincoln Continental 2001 w/ REMOTE START - RUNS GREAT - $3250 (Greenfield)

Odometer: 212,000 (Recent Oil Change, No Mechanical Issues)

This is a great driving vehicle, especially on the highway. It may be 13 years old, but from behind the steering wheel you wouldn't know it. Its got a V8 that really gets this car up and going. The air shocks make it ride smooth and can be adjusted from the dashboard. It also is front wheel drive, and has electronic stability control, so its great in the snow - especially when using the set of snow tires mounted on a second set of Lincoln rims that I'll include with the sale. The sunroof and ice-cold AC make this both fun and comfortable to drive in the warmer months too!

As for the condition of the Continental, this one is clean inside and out, with exception some rust below the rear doors and wheel wells. This can be easily patched, if wanted, otherwise drive as is -your choice. Either way, I price hundreds below the going value, thus you can spend the money to fix if wanted to and still be ahead.

This is my daily driver....and I do love driving it, but it was time for to upgrade. This is a very safe and reliable vehicle. I've owned this car for the past 9 years and am only the second owner, with service records from when it drove off the dealer's lot. Lincoln stopped making this model in 2002, so I took great care of mine, because I knew I wasn't going to find another one. Once you drive it, and ride in it, you'll know what I mean - you get spoiled rather quickly.

The electronics package includes keypad on door, a 6 CD changer, premium sound, system check function on instrument cluster, power windows/locks, heated seats, power seats, power sunroof, power mirrors, self dimming mirrors, and a Crime Stopper Remote Car Starter (easily over a 1/4 mile range and remote vibrates to tell you car started). Plus original owners manual, three factory keys, two factory remotes, and two remotes for the car starter.

Similar year (2001) and mileage (212,000) Continentals have the following book values:
NADA Retail $3675
Kelly Blue Book Retail $3637

Lincoln revival bypasses rear-wheel drive for now

Wed, Nov 25 2015

Ford execs had the axe ready for Lincoln just a few years ago, but the luxury marque is on a hot streak these days. Annual sales are up 7.5 percent through October, and the recently unveiled, refreshed 2017 MKZ previews the company's improved styling. In a great piece about the brand's growth strategy, Automotive News finds the division's bosses want to focus on the core vehicles before taking a big step and building a rear-wheel drive niche model. "Luxury coupes and sports cars are not the first place we need to go," Global Lincoln Director Matt VanDyke said in the story. The division's bosses want to use the updated MKZ as an opportunity to distance Lincoln's identity from Ford, and the powertrain will carry the 3.0T badge rather than Ford's EcoBoost name as part of that approach. The model also injects excitement into the range thanks to an all-wheel drive version with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower and an optional Driver's Package with a torque-vectoring rear differential. Lincoln will launch at least three new models by 2020, too. One of those will be the production Continental that will reportedly debut at the Detroit Auto Show. The company will also allegedly revive the Aviator to fit below the Navigator. The third vehicle remains a mystery but likely isn't a compact. Automotive News' story further examines the previously languishing brand's work to climb up the luxury ranks in the US. It's well worth a read. Related Video:

Ford is recalling more Takata airbag-equipped Ford and Lincoln models

Thu, Mar 2 2017

The Basics: Takata, the beleaguered airbag supplier at the root of the largest recall in automotive history, has informed Ford of a problem with the airbags in just over 30,000 Ford and Lincoln models. The problem is not related to the non-desiccated ammonium nitrate airbag inflators that plague the other airbags ( including many Fords), meaning there isn't a risk of shrapnel flying out from the units in this particular recall. The Problem: In the event of an accident, the front airbags may only partially inflate, and the airbag may become detached from the module because of misaligned parts. The problem affects 2016 and 2017 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX models built at the Oakville Assembly Plant. The issue also affects 2017 Lincoln Continentals that were built at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant. Injuries/Deaths: In a release, Ford stated that it is not aware of any accidents, injuries, or deaths related to the airbag issue. The Fix: Dealers will replace the driver-side front airbag module at no cost. If You Own One: Sit tight and wait for Ford to notify owners. When that happens, take your car to the dealer for a replacement. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. Ford recalling 830,000 vehicles to replace side door latches

Thu, Aug 4 2016

The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service.
