Your bidding on an ONE OWNER, ORIGINAL near RUST FREE 1968 Lincoln Continental Coupe. It comes with all the original paperwork, include the original title dated 1970 when the husband died and the wife transferred the Lincoln into her name after he passed. She kept the vehicle all these years in his memory. The Lincoln only has 53,000 original miles and is in almost original condition. The original paint is fading a little, excluding where the window had the door ding repainted about 20 years ago. This Lincoln has several rare options like factory Speed Control and factory buckets seats with a console.

This Lincoln has NO RUST nor PREVIOUS RUST in the underneath. The body is all original sheet metal and very little rust in the bottom corners of the fenders . The chrome is original and in great conditions with a very little pitting. Bumpers are original and near perfect with very little fading, but in good condition. The paint is faded and would look better if waxed/polished. The interior is near perfect.

It's runs great and does NOT leak a lot of fluid, like my other old Fords do. The exhaust appears to even be original, although there a small exhaust leak in the repair from driving it onto a trailer last year.  This is a survivor and a collector cars.

An original one owner Lincoln Coupe is hard to find and especially this original. I didn't purchase this Lincoln to sell, but things change. Please feel free to email or call me with questions. Thank you for looking, Chris 816.590.7660

Ford hybrids getting update to improve fuel economy

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

Ford has announced that it is introducing "calibration updates designed to improve on-road fuel economy for owners of the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and 2013 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid."
We can speculate that these changes are at least due in part to lawsuits over mileage claims of hybrid vehicles. The automaker is enhancing 2013 models starting in August by raising their electric cruising speed to 85 miles per hour from 62 mph, optimizing the use of active grille shutters and the climate control system, shortening the engine warm-up period by 50 percent and reducing electric fan speed to minimize the fan's energy consumption.
It bears mentioning that Ford is doing pretty well in the US electrified vehicle market this year. The company claims to have grown its share in the segment by 12 points to 16 percent while taking a high number of Toyota Prius trade-ins in the process. Conversely, Toyota has experienced a five-percent drop in new-Prius sales over the same period. Additionally, Ford states that it has increased its share of the US vehicle market by one percent this year, more than any full-line automaker.

Lincoln 'not true luxury' yet, says Ford design chief

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Lincoln is "not true luxury," according to Ford's design boss, J Mays. His statements come from a story in The Detroit News that saw candid language on the issues facing Ford's troubled premium brand. Notably, there's a need for a strong character, with Mays saying, "Every brand needs to have a DNA and a unique selling point and things in the vehicle that make you think, 'That's that particular brand.'"
With a range of rebadged Fords, it's not hard to see why that DNA is missing. Mays hinted that a full recovery for Lincoln will be a ten-year process, that's been kicked off with the MKZ sedan. While that car is still largely a Ford Fusion under its extremely pretty wrapper, it's the first Lincoln in some time to inject its own unique take both through the exterior styling and through interior features, such as the vertical, pushbutton gear selection.
Some analysts weren't so certain about Mays' 10-year estimate. Jim Hall of 2953 Analytics thinks it'll be more like 30 years before Lincoln can show a true return to form. The issue, as Hall explains it, is that, "luxury has a degree of exclusivity," that Lincoln just doesn't have. Michelle Krebs from Edmunds adds, "it's definitely a wanna-be luxury brand," comparing the troubled American brand with Infiniti and Acura, two other brands that have struggled to find their place in the luxury market.
