Here are the basic details: 1967 Lincoln Continental 2 door coupe...cranberry metallic red with a white vinyl top the color was changed (originally white) by the original owner but they did a good job as the paint is fully cut in (see pics)......111,000 original miles.....i have owned this for 4 years and love it but want a wagon as I have a baby on the way and so the the toys need to be practical...
solid as hell, great runner, pretty pimp ride to be honest...black leather interior which is in awesome shape with the exclusion of one split (see pics)...body is clean with no filler whatsoever and only has the standard dings expected for its age...the car has always been garaged...radio is craptastic so it is ripe for a boomin' system
this car is actually pretty rare as most folks just scrapped the coupes when they got old...the body size is the same as the 4-door (with the suicide doors), so you can imagine the grand style of a massive coupe...it literally drives like you are commanding a ship that you can steer with one finger while sitting on a leather couch...
only issues are the dent at the right front as shown in the photos...there is a 5" crack in the windshield at the lower right corner but it still passes inspection...there is some surface bubbling near the trim of the vinyl top...at the end of last summer the right front window stopped going in one direction for some reason (although the motor is new), rather than screw with it i just yanked the motor and raise and lower the window by hand as it stays up in any position...a split on the dash pad...and finally I just made (doh!) a small hole in the drivers floorboard which i also took some photos of from both inside and under the car, it can easily be fixed with a 4"x6" plate if you feel so inclined....
it is a great runner and i am driving it right now..
---> i am interested in trades if you are near the NYC area...for vintage station wagons only...must be fully running, driving and on the road at the moment...if you have something awesome send me a message <----
it has a 462" with a C6 trans and has had over $8,000 worth of work last summer alone (have receipts)..but the reserve is FAR LESS than that!!!
here is the short list of all that was recently done:
- engine was taken out and cleaned
- new timing chain set & gaskets
- new front/rear main seals & oil pan gasket
- new intake and exhaust manifold gaskets
- new RH exhaust manifold
- full new welded exhaust from front to back
- rebuilt carb
- rebuilt p/s pump...if you know lincolns this is mounted on the crank and is a total pain in the ass...
- rebuilt fuel pump
- rebuilt transmission with new torque converter
- radiator removed, flushed, sealed, repainted
- new rear axle bearings and seals
- new steel and rubber brake lines
- new steel fuel lines
- new window motors
- new shocks
- new rear brake cyls and shoes
- new steel and rubber fuel lines
- all new belts, hoses, fan clutch
- tires have about 1000 miles on them..
if you have any questions please ask before you bid...if you bid and win you will be required to drop me a $125 deposit (to cover listing fees)within 48 hours as far too many people flake out on purchases...however the remainder you can pay in cash at the time of pick up...shipping is not something that i want to set up so please sort that out a head of time as this is a big car so make sure your carrier knows...

Lincoln reveals the posh and powerful 2018 Navigator

Wed, Apr 12 2017

If you were a fan of the Navigator concept from last year's New York show, we've got good news. The production Navigator looks just like it. Sure there are subtle changes. The gullwing doors are gone, but no one should be surprised by that. A side effect is that it has conventional chrome door handles, too. The lower grille in the front bumper is a tad different, and the rear taillights are a bit thicker, but the overall look has stayed the same. That includes the tall, regal grille with a mesh consisting of Lincoln badge outlines, the side vents on the fenders, and those beautiful, intricate turbine wheels. On the top-of-the-line Black Label models, the Navigator gets an illuminated badge that lights up with the puddle lights when the driver approaches. View 15 Photos Since the Navigator is based on the Ford Expedition, it's unsurprising that they're very similar mechanically. The Navigator has aluminum construction, and it's propelled by a version of the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 found in so many Ford products. However, the Navigator's engine makes an impressive 450 horsepower compared with the expected 375 horsepower from the Expedition. Those plush ponies goes through a 10-speed automatic transmission. Inside, the Navigator stays true to the concept, and most important, shares essentially nothing with the plebeian Expedition. Like in the concept, the dashboard is low and wide and features plenty of wood and leather. The instrument panel is a configurable 12-inch display, and to its right is an upright, floating touch screen for infotainment. The buttons for shifting hang off the trailing edge of the dashboard, where a gap opens between it and the center console. The console houses the climate control buttons, and rises to meet the dash. Aside from the luxurious dash, occupants are treated to the Continental's 30-way adjustable front seats, which are heated and cooled. The interior should be whisper quiet as well, thanks to laminated front and side glass. This should allow passengers to better enjoy the available 20-speaker Revel II sound system even more. Plenty of gizmos and tech are at the fingertips of Navigator drivers, too. One of the more unique tidbits of technology are the adaptive headlights. At low speeds, the headlight beam is very wide to illuminate objects or pedestrians on the sides of the road. However, at high speeds, the beam narrows to reduce glare from street signs.

Lincoln scales back free maintenance

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Complimentary scheduled maintenance programs have been great tools for luxury automakers to draw in new customers, but some are starting to scale their programs back considerably. According to Automotive News, Lincoln is joining Jaguar and Volvo on the list of automakers reducing the length of time it will be providing free maintenance to its customers.
Lincoln's four-year/50,000-mile maintenance program first kicked off as an incentive in 2010 and became permanent later that year, but starting with the 2014 model year, this will be cut to just two years and 24,000 miles. This could make short-term leases even more appealing for some consumers, but according to Automotive News, some Lincoln dealers are unhappy with the scaling back. The move admittedly comes at an odd time for Lincoln, with parent Ford seemingly working hard to increase consideration among luxury buyers as it looks to reverse the marque's long decline.

Ford's Galhotra succeeds Farley as head of Lincoln

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

Ford Motor Company is announcing a major personnel shakeup that could have a dramatic effect on the future of the Lincoln division. Kumar Galhotra (pictured above), currently vice president of engineering at Ford for all of its vehicles worldwide, is taking over as the president of the luxury brand on September 1, replacing Jim Farley. The automaker is also hiring a new head of advanced engineering.
Galhotra has a huge job ahead of him as the new boss of Lincoln worldwide, overseeing product development, marketing, sales and service. His task is to turn the luxury division into a world-class brand as quickly as possible, and he reports directly to Ford President and CEO Mark Fields.
"These changes underscore our commitment to build on the success of our One Ford plan by accelerating our pace of progress. They also make clear we are serious about Lincoln as a world-class luxury brand and that product excellence and innovation are what will deliver growth and define our entire company going forward," said Fields in the company's announcement.
