1966 Lincoln Continental Coupe
A two-door version was launched in 1966, the first two-door Lincoln since 1960, and the MEL engine was expanded from 430 to 462 cubic inches (7.0 to 7.6 L). The car was given all-new exterior sheet metal and a new interior. Parking lights and front turn signals went back into the front bumper, and taillights set in the rear bumper for the first time. The length was increased by 5 inches (130 mm) to 220.9 in (5,610 mm), the width by an 1-inch (25 mm) to 79.7 in (2,020 mm), and the height by almost 1-inch (25 mm) to 55.0 in (1,400 mm) (on the sedan). Curved side glass returned.
Heres a nice 1966 Continental Coupe Driver. it's getting tough to find one of these, let alone one this nice that is reliable enough to drive. Nice enough to drive and be proud without the hassle of worrying to put the first scratch on it when you lean on it! It has a new set of Coker Wide White wall tires, new Coker 15" chrome baby moon wheels & new duel exhaust that has been tucked up close to the chassis so it is ready for airide or to be lowered if you would like to put it in the weeds. It has a 462ci v8 with an automatic transmission. It runs and drives nice. the odometer reads 41,000. i am assuming that is not accurate. the car is fairly clean for its age but not 41,000 clean. the title reads 0 miles. It has a Edelbrock 650 carb thats about a year old. The brakes are very nice. There is a backing plate that rubs the brake rotor a little, No big deal. It is an A/C car but the belt is not installed. I am assuming the system need sealed and recharged. It is a very solid car & has minimal rust. The paint is older so it is not show quality. The interior is nice minus a crack on the dash, a few small tears in the upholstery and the worst, the top of the rear seat was sun baked and needs that panel replaced. The surrounding material is in good condition and will be able to be sewn to to fix the issue without doing the whole back rest. All of the badges are gone because they were all beat up and it looked better without them. All of the mounting holes are still there so they can be replaced if need be. All of the glass is fantastic! Minus a crack vertically through the middle if the windshield. the chrome trim is very complete. there are a few minor dings in the trim. nothing that can't be worked out if you would like to fully restore them. The blinkers and the brake lights work. Driving and tail lights work as they should. The power antenna works, the radio works, the speedometer works perfectly. All of the interior lights/ switches work. I have checked/repaired all of the window switches. Both front quarter windows pivot nicely! The drivers door works perfectly yet the passengers side catches sporadically. The window track needs to be re-squared. The rear window relays switch on but the motors do not react. i have not checked to see if they are even connected. the blinker and brake switch wires were not connected when i purchased this car. I cleaned the connections and plugged them in and they work fine. the wipers work fine but need new blades to wipe rain efficiently.
Overall it's a cool classy car! It sounds killer! It rumbles nicely when accelerating yet levels out when cruising.
Nada lists its value between $5,300 to $23,300 so i think my buy it now price of 12k is fair. Any questions please call 303 906 6999

Feds Probe Power Steering In 938,000 Ford Midsize Cars
Mon, Oct 6 2014U.S. safety regulators are investigating complaints that the power-assisted steering can suddenly fail on three Ford midsize car models. The probe covers 938,000 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ cars from the 2010 through 2012 model years, as well as the 2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says it has received 508 complaints alleging that the cars lost power-assisted steering, causing increased steering effort. Four complaints say the problem caused crashes, but no injuries were reported. The agency says in documents posted Monday on its website that in many cases, a warning message appeared as the failure happened. Restarting the car corrected the problem in some cases, but the problem returned in others. The agency says it will check the scope and frequency of a problem. It could seek a recall. Ford says it's cooperating with the probe. Shares of Ford Motor Co. rose 6 cents to $14.65 in morning trading Monday. Its shares are down 14 percent over the past year. Ford recalls 1.9m cars and crossovers for defective airbags
Wed, Jun 1 2016The Basics: Ford is recalling a total of 1,898,728 vehicles to replace defective Takata front passenger-side airbags. This includes the 2007-2010 Ford Edge, 2006-2011 Ford Fusion, 2005-2011 Ford Mustang, 2007-2011 Ford Ranger, 2007-2010 Lincoln MKX and 2006-2011 Lincoln MKZ, Zephyr and Mercury Milan vehicles built in North America. The Problem: The defective airbags have been linked to ruptures that can send metal fragments at the passenger, due to deteriorating propellant. Injuries/Deaths: Ford claims it's not aware of any injuries due to the problem, but rupturing Takata airbags have been linked to a series of serious injuries and deaths. The Fix: Dealers will replace the passenger-side frontal airbag at no charge to the customer. If you own one: Look out for a letter from the manufacturer to arrange service at your local dealer. If you'd like to check if your vehicle is affected, click on the safety recalls link on Ford.com and enter your VIN. Related Video:
Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge
Wed, Dec 26 2018Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
