This car belonged to my Father who I bought it new in 1965. It was always garage kept its entire life and only driven in good weather to parades and special events and occasionally on Sundays. It has 59,231 origional miles on it. It was in perfect running condition when last used in 1982 which was the last time it was inspected in Pennsylvania. He was the only one to drive it and he always babied it. He had the repair manual and always maintained it properly. As far as I remember only the mufflers were replaced at Midas at one time with a Life Time Guarantee. The only thing I did when I removed it from his garage was to clean it off, change the oil and filter. The gas tank had to be cleaned out completly from sitting so long and to get it to run properly. I cleaned the carburator and plugs. The car runs and drives properly now. It has an automatic transmission. 430 V8 engine with air conditioning, clock, 6 way power seats, power steering (steers with one finger) Power brakes, Power windows and vent windows.Padded instrument panel with NO cracks or tears. Remote mirror, Origional Radio and retractable power antenna. The tires are bias from the 80s and need replacing but still stay up. There is NO rot anywhere on the car and it is solid. It has NEVER been in an accident. The chrome is very good and not pitted. There are only several small dents and one in the left rear bumperette. The top is extremely good and has no tears or discoloration. The Leather Seats are in excellent condition and are Not cracked or dried out. I have NOT attempted to drive it very much but the grounds and seals would have to be checked as expected from a car that has sit that long in storage. I do know everything worked when it was origionally parked. This would be a Great car to Restore or use everyday with a good going over. He also had the exact same 1965 LIndoln Continental Hard Top that he had the rocker panels welded in (NO bondo didnt beleive in it) and repainted a sort or cream color. He planned to have the convertible repainted to match and use in weddings for the bride and the hard top for the family. I intend to list the hard top as soon as I can get it running. It was storred in the same garage with the convertible. I have not checked it out completly. I can be reached at (570) 825-7789 between 6 and 8pm Eastern standard time ONLY for anyone who would like to set up an appointment to see it or needs additional information. Please ask for Herb. Thank You for looking. Have a Great Day.

Conan O'Brien takes McConaughey's Lincoln ad to its logical conclusion
Thu, 11 Sep 2014We all had to see this coming. Conan O'Brien has released a parody of Matthew McConaughey's new ads for the 2015 Lincoln MKC and remixed them with lines from one of his most critically acclaimed recent roles.
The now much darker commercial probably isn't how Lincoln would prefer the MKC to be marketed, but really in a few of the actual ads, McConaughey already seems moments away from breaking into a full Rustin Cohle from True Detective impression. The cadence and tone of his voice are just so close to that character, especially in the one where he's talking to the bull standing in the middle of the road. It very nearly verges on parody anyway; Conan is just turning all of this up to 11.
It's a little surprising that the writers didn't dig a little deeper into the McConaughey oeuvre for the parody. Maybe McConaughey could have taken the MKC for a party at the Moon Tower from Dazed and Confused. In any case, it's worth a quick watch, so check it out.
Five vehicles named Top Safety Pick+ including new Civic, MKZ
Fri, 08 Mar 2013In an attempt to help push vehicle safety to a higher level, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety created a stricter Top Safety Pick+ rating last year, which incorporates a brutal small overlap test and requires cars to get Good ratings in four out of the five categories (and no less than Acceptable in the fifth). Joining the list of the safest cars of 2013, the 2013 Volvo XC60, Lincoln MKZ, Honda Civic (sedan and coupe) and the 2014 Mazda6 have all received the coveted TSP+ rating.
The Mazda6 and Lincoln MKZ have both been completely redesigned, and both received Acceptable ratings in the small overlap test. The Honda Civic, coming off its emergency refresh for 2013, is the first small car to be subjected to the small overlap test, and IIHS says that one of the car's many upgrades includes a stiffer front structure allowing it to receive Good ratings in all categories. Similarly, the XC60 gets all Good ratings thanks to, according to IIHS, Volvo updating the airbag software allowing the side airbags to inflate during the small overlap test.
The 2014 Subaru Forester has not yet been subjected to the small overlap test, so it must make do with just a Top Safety Pick rating until the IIHS tests small utility vehicles, which is expected to happen later in the spring.
Consumer Reports no longer recommends Honda Civic
Mon, Oct 24 2016Consumer Reports annual Car Reliability Survey is out, and yes, there are some big surprises. First and foremost? The venerable publication no longer recommends the Honda Civic. In fact, aside from the walking-dead CR-Z and limited-release Clarity fuel-cell car, the Civic is the only Honda to miss out on CR's prestigious nod. At the opposite end there's a surprise as well – Toyota and Lexus remain the most reliable brands on the market, but Buick cracked the top three. That's up from seventh last year, and the first time for an American brand to stand on the Consumer Reports podium. Mazda's entire lineup earned Recommended checks as well. Consumer Reports dinged the Civic for its "infuriating" touch-screen radio, lack of driver lumbar adjustability, the limited selection of cars on dealer lots fitted with Honda's popular Sensing system, and the company's decision to offer LaneWatch instead of a full-tilt blind-spot monitoring system. Its score? A lowly 58. The Civic isn't the only surprise drop from CR's Recommended ranks. The Audi A3, Ford F-150, Subaru WRX/STI, and Volkswagen Jetta, GTI, and Passat all lost the Consumer Reports' checkmark. On the flipside, a number of popular vehicles graduated to the Recommended ranks, including the BMW X5, Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Cruze, Hyundai Santa Fe, Porsche Macan, and Tesla Model S. Perhaps the biggest surprise is the hilariously recall-prone Ford Escape getting a Recommended check – considering the popularity of Ford's small crossover, this is likely a coup for the brand, as it puts the Escape on a level playing field with the Recommended Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Nissan Rogue. While Ford is probably happy to see CR promote the Escape, the list wasn't as kind for every brand. For example, of the entire Fiat Chrysler Automobiles catalog, the ancient Chrysler 300 was the only car to score a check – there wasn't a single Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, or Ram on the list. That hurts. FCA isn't alone at the low end, either. GMC, Jaguar Land Rover, Mini, and Mitsubishi don't have a vehicle on CR's list between them, while brands like Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Nissan, Lincoln, Infiniti, and Cadillac only have a few models each.
