This is one of the most classic automobiles in the history of cars. The 1964 Lincoln came with the suicide doors, making it really easy for those in the back seat to get out of the car.

Locally purchased at Downtown Lincoln Mercury in Dallas in 1964, the same family has owned it ever since.

 photo IMG_0278.jpg

It appears the car has had a repaint to it's original color. The body is straight and solid. The brightwork has very few flaws. There are a few dents in the stainless, but for an original 49 year old car, it's quite good.

 photo IMG_0279.jpg
The top and power windows are all in working order.

 photo IMG_0283.jpg
The family decided to sell the car and asked that we get it running. We flushed the radiator, dropped and cleaned the gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor, and did a complete tune up. The Lincoln runs great now.

 photo IMG_0284.jpg

The original Lincoln hub caps are in good condition all around.

 photo IMG_0290.jpg

As for the interior of the vehicle, there are signs of wear and tear from over the years.

 photo IMG_0293.jpg

 photo IMG_0297.jpg

The seats have are definately showing their age, but are still just as comfortable as before. The new owner will definately need to do some restoring.

 photo IMG_0298.jpg
Even though the car is showing it's age, structurally it appears to be very solid. Having been a Dallas car all of its life, the body looks to be rust free and all in all this is a very good base for a nice restoration.

 photo IMG_0305.jpg

The dash and auxiliary gauges are still working but the speedometer is currently out of order. The AC in the car is not currently working.

 photo IMG_0306.jpg

 photo IMG_0310.jpg

The 96,410 miles are correct. The car has been in storage for many years.

  photo IMG_0311.jpg

The car does still sport the factory radio.

 photo IMG_0314.jpg

 photo IMG_0316.jpg

 photo IMG_0318.jpg

The windows on both passengers and drivers side are not working as well.

 photo IMG_0320.jpg

 photo IMG_0323.jpg

 photo IMG_0325.jpg

The undersides of the doors are solid.

 photo IMG_0335.jpg

 photo IMG_0339.jpg

 photo IMG_0340.jpg

The engine is a factory 430 ci V8 backed up by a Turbo-Drive automatic transmission. So, whether just cruising around town or passing on the highway, this car means busines. The car is completely stock and has all records of regular maintenance.

Jay Leno recaps Pebble Beach

Wed, Sep 30 2015

Each year at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance the picturesque, ocean-side setting of the golf course becomes a parking lot for a vast array of multi-million dollar vehicles. However, if you missed the posh event this year, then Jay Leno has you covered yet again. For a nearly hour-long installment of Jay Leno's Garage, the comedian has dumped his denim in favor of a suit to take viewers on an insider tour of the lavish gathering. He interviewed some of the most talented designers in the auto industry, too. Leno starts off checking out a few beautiful classics by the shore, but things really get interesting for his stroll down the Concept Car Lawn for a scoop on the vehicles of tomorrow. Ed Welburn tells Leno all about the Buick Avenir, and Shiro Nakamura offers a tour of the Infiniti Q60. Plus, there are detailed looks at the Lincoln Continental, Hyundai Vision G Coupe, and Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6. Surprise! More Ford and Lincoln cars found with marijuana

Thu, Jul 27 2017

Ford is starting to have a serious problem on its hands. Today, ABC 7 in Detroit reported that another batch of Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ cars were found packed with 227 pounds of marijuana. This is a little over a week after Fords in Ohio were found stuffed with marijuana and only about two months after Fords in Minnesota were found full of weed. All of the cars traveled on train from Mexico to their destination. All in, several thousand pounds and several million dollars worth of marijuana has been discovered. According to the report, Immigration and Customs Enforcement found the cars at the Ford Rail Distribution Facility in Woodhaven, Michigan, just south of Ford's world headquarters in Dearborn. ICE became involved after a Ford employee reported the cars to Woodhaven police. It's unclear when and where the cars were packed with marijuana. With the cars in Minnesota, it's believed that the weed was added after leaving the factory but before being loaded on the train. Spare tires were removed and the space was used to smuggle the marijuana. Related Video:

Ford's Jim Farley hints at Lincoln sales rebound

Thu, 25 Apr 2013

If you're a fan of Lincoln, get ready for "a really great story" come May 1. That's how Ford marketing boss Jim Farley, in a call with analysts, characterized the coming April sales report for the MKZ. At the moment, there are probably few things that the executive VP could want more than a happy ending for the ballyhooed sedan that has made people cry boo-hoo for the past six months.
The massive glass roof of the MKZ is trying to support a burden that would make Atlas tap out, and it hasn't shattered, but it has shown a few cracks. The car we called "a big step in the right direction," the embodiment of the reinvention of the brand and a test of Lincoln's commitment to a new rear-wheel drive offering was given an $8-million dollar Super Bowl ad spend earlier this year, then quality control issues during its assembly scuttled deliveries. Lincoln got over that and kept up the ad blitz, now it just wants the good work to take hold.
If Farley's not leading us on, April could be the month. He said the results (so far) show "the product is being very well-received," inventory is finally where it should be and the MKZ Hybrid is doing better than expected. It bears noting that Lincoln is offering some aggressive incentive programs at the moment, including 0.9-percent APR and $1,000 off for conquest buyers stepping out of competitors' vehicles.
