1963 Lincoln Continental Base 7.0l on 2040-cars

Year:1963 Mileage:30202
Location:

Arlington, Virginia, United States

This is a newly restored (for the most part) 1963 Lincoln Continental.  This is a GREAT looking car and is perfect for showing or just crusing in!

I've had the engine overhauled and all body work and interior redone.  I bought this car 2 years ago and it's been restored over that time.  I recently got it back and simply don't have the time to finialze the restoration or give it the attention I'd like to, because I've got 5 other cars.

I've made a few modifications to this car by adding airbag suspension and 22 inch wheels.  It is a low rider and will slam right down to the ground using the air bags, or come up to a comfortable crusing height.  That said, it  can easily be coverted back to factory stock by adding wheels and suspension.

The engine is overhauled and while it makes some squeaking sound (probably a belt), it runs well.
Brakes are original, all drum all the way around.
Car runs and drives just fine.
There are some leaks as you'd expect from a '63 but keeping an eye on fluid levels should correct that.

Interior and exterior, are brand new and look great!   The car definitly has appeal!

As I mentioned, its not perfect and there is some additional work that would need to put put into it:

- Drivers window is slow

-passenger vent window wont shut from driver controls (only from passenger controls)

-breaks should be done to convert to disc

-possible rear seal oil leak

-new exhaust must be added.

Trying to keep up with my collection has become a full time job, so I'm only looking to get back what I've put in.

Please note that buyer is responsible for any shipping charges, or it is available for local pickup in Northern VA.

PAYMENT MUST BE MADE IN FULL WITHIN 1 HOUR OF AUCTION END.

Please message me with any questions.

Thank you!

Possible MKX concept teased as Lincoln confirms China expansion

Thu, 17 Apr 2014

We've been speculating for years about the future of Lincoln. Some thought that Ford needed to kill the division like it did Mercury, while others saw the sales possibility in a brand with so much history. Ford has finally made a decision, and it wasn't what many people were expecting. Lincoln is launching in China this fall, with the brand rollout starting at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. A new video hints that we might even get to see the concept for the next-generation MKX.
Lincoln is marketing itself in China as a customer-focused, high-end luxury ownership experience. To prove it, the Lincoln Space in Beijing is meant both as a prototype dealer and a grand show of its plans. The modernist structure looks more like an art museum than a car showroom, and the interior decor is like a high-end hotel lobby. The company says that every dealer is going to have license plate recognition technology that knows when an owner arrives, and there will also be a Personalization Studio where potential buyers can design their car with family. Lincoln is promising to have eight showrooms ready in seven cities by this fall.
Of course, a stylish showroom is nothing without cars to sell. Lincoln is promising five models on sale in China by 2016. The MKZ and MKC launch this fall. A midsize luxury SUV, a fullsize luxury sedan and the Navigator are coming later. All of the models sold there are being imported from North America.

2002 Lincoln Continental concept should've made production, headed for auction instead

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

It seems like the retro design aesthetic in autos might be petering out, with even a former poster child like the Ford Mustang taking a step in a more modern direction. Sometimes those updates of old-school models really worked well, though. Just take a look above at the Lincoln Continental concept from 2002 that took the extruded shape of the 1960s version and updated it for the new millennium.
Now there's a chance for this gorgeous concept to take a spot in your garage, as RM Auctions is selling it as part of a 130-plus-car, no-reserve auction of the Sam Pack Collection on November 14 and 15, in Dallas, TX. Among the lots for sale are a number of Fords, including several recent concepts from the brand. "My collecting philosophy is simple: buy what I like, but always with an emphasis on quality," Pack said in the auction announcement.
The Continental concept absolutely nails the mix of modern and retro. Its perfectly crisp lines make the shape appear hewn from a single piece of metal, and there's just the slightest ornamentation with the angled, chrome slats in the grille and chrome strips over the wheel arches. It even retains the suicide doors from its inspiration.

Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy

Sun, 31 Aug 2014

Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
