I have a 1956 Continental MK11., one of only 2550 produced that year at a cost of $10,000 list, imagine that value in todays market?
This could be a very unique car as it has THE ORIGINAL CLOTH inserts which was available in 1956 although every one I| have seen has always been full leather. Replacement cloth is available through SMS in Oregon.
I have owned it for 14 years, and the previous owner owned it for 24 years, and all that time it has been in dry covered storage. It seems that Wisconsin was it's original home.
The story of the MKII is well known to most people, especially fans of the car. New, in 1956 it cost $10,000.00, just think of that in todays prices !
The car is in ORIGINAL unrestored condition, not perfect but very original with, I believe, 1 repaint in the original color now showing it's age, with small areas of surface and/or minor rust areas. It is NOT an Ac car, however, it is very straight. with NOTHING MISSING! although I have to check on the jack/ wheel brace and will avise on soonest.
Included in the sale will be an ORIGINAL FACTORY SHOP MANUAL, with worn covers but clean interior pages, a Factory FOLD OUT brochure, black covers, 9x10 inches, mint, AND a FORD produced HARD COVER book, THE CONTINENTAL STORY, showing great hand drawn SEPIA "ARTY" depictions of the car and it's evolution.
I very much regret having to sell this unique car, but with retirement imminent, funds will not be available to restore it to how I want it to be, as it left the Factory.

Lincoln video teases new things to come... but what?
Sun, 02 Dec 2012Lincoln has released a new video teasing... something. In what looks to be an advertisement for more advertising, the company has worked up a clip featuring everything from a drum solo and a flying hawk to Abraham Lincoln himself. The video shows a few shots of what looks to be an MKZ and promises more news is coming on Monday.
What does the company have up its sleeves? Rumors are bouncing around the web like so many ill-informed ping-pong balls, and cover everything from an alternative powertrain for the MKZ to a new two-door model - noise that is underscored by the presence of a Ford Mustang chassis lurking in the background of the video around the 27-second mark (see screen capture above).
Could Lincoln be considering a rear-wheel drive luxury coupe built on the pony's bones? A move like that seems awfully unlikely, but it certainly wouldn't hurt our feelings. Either way, we'll find out more tomorrow. In the interim, check out the teaser video below for yourself.
Lincoln MKC crossover headed for Detroit
Wed, 19 Dec 2012Fresh off the launch of the stylish new MKZ sedan, the newly named Lincoln Motor Company is reportedly preparing for a lineup expansion. According to TheDetroitBureau.com, the first new product joining the Lincoln brand is a small crossover based on the Ford Escape said to be called the MKC. We saw this machine testing a few months ago, and while we were hoping the name might be reserved for a future two-door model or even the diminutive Concept C hatchback, it looks like the "C" will stand for compact crossover instead.
The report also says that this crossover will be making its debut next month at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, so we'll have to wait until then to see what the new model looks like. Unlike the MKX, which is based off the Ford Edge, we would expect there to be a lot more differentiation between the MKC and the Escape like Ford managed to do with the newest Fusion and MKZ.
In addition to the new MKC, the article states new MKS and Navigator designs are expected to debut by 2014.
Lincoln to resurrect old nameplates for China?
Wed, 04 Dec 2013Judging by the success that many luxury automakers are currently experiencing in China, it's no surprise that Lincoln plans to take advantage of the situation by peddling its wares across the Pacific. Lincoln will open its first Chinese dealership next year, but potential buyers there won't be mucking through the same alphabet soup of car names found in American showrooms. USA Today reports that Ford's luxury car division could revert back to legacy names (like Continental and Zephyr) in China while keeping the MK_ names here in North America.
In speaking to Ford exec Jim Farley during the LA Auto Show, USA Today says that Lincoln could switch its naming structure as models are refreshed. Farley didn't confirm that the naming revamp would be a China-only decision, but article leaves little hope that American buyers will get to see the return of classic names anytime soon.
Why would Ford rehash old Lincoln names for China only? Buyers there seem to have a better historical associations with the nameplates than in the US. Chinese also still hold Lincoln in high regard, associating the marque with use by prominent government officials.
