1941 Lincoln Continental 2dr Cabriolet V12 - Very Rare - No Reserve on 2040-cars
Cincinnati, Ohio, United States
1941 Lincoln Continental 2dr Cabriolet - V12 - VERY RARE - One of only 400 produced. The previous owner converted the vehicle to a 12v system. He replaced the rocker on the drivers side - the passenger side rocker was included but not installed and will be included with the sale. The V12 engine runs good - there is floor board rust in the normal places with an old convertible and I have tried to show what I could with the photos. The car needs total restoration but it is a good solid candidate to start with. I am finishing a 1940 Lincoln Cabriolet and I purchased this vehicle out of Arizona with the intent to modernize it. I have too many projects and have decided to find a new home for this one. Said to be "one of the first cars recognized as something more than a mere machine by New York's Museum of Modern Art and the Classic Car Club of American, among others and one of the finest examples of the automobile as art." This vehicle is for sale locally and the seller reserves the right to cancel listing prior to end of auction. |

Lincoln MKC crossover adopts the Continental's grille
Thu, Jun 15 2017The last vestiges of the controversial split Lincoln grille are slowly being removed as the company revamps its lineup. It started with the MKZ and Continental, with the most recent rhinoplasty recipient being the Navigator. Now, based on spy shots, it looks like the MKC crossover will be the fourth to get the new corporate grille. Under the heavy vinyl coverings, we can clearly see the proud Continental-inspired grille. We can also see that it will feature the same chrome mesh with Lincoln badge-shaped openings found on other cars with the grille design. We can also assume that the headlights will receive a substantial refresh, but the lower bumper doesn't look particularly different. The rest of this prototype MKC looks the same as the existing model. The back is covered, which indicates that the taillights may be updated. We wouldn't expect a radically different look, since the MKC already has a full-width taillight treatment. We also noticed that the wheels appear to be inspired by the cool turbine wheels of the Navigator. Whatever the other changes are, we'll probably see them soon. This is clearly just a refresh, and so there's a good chance we'll see the production model revealed by the end of the year, or early next year at the latest. Related Video:
Lincoln says MKZ supply crisis over
Mon, 25 Mar 2013After an excessive number of recalls on the 2013 Escape and Fusion, we can't really fault Ford for being a little extra cautious with the launch of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ. Last month, we reported that dealer supply of the car was extremely limited due to more attention being paid to quality checks of cars rolling off the assembly line, which led to a 73-percent drop in MKZ sales from last year on top of a 32-year low in monthly sales for Lincoln in January.
The reason for the delay was that the sedans were being shipped from the Hermosillo, Mexico assembly plant to be inspected even closer at Ford's Flat Rock, Michigan plant before they were able to head to dealers. Things seem to be straightening out for Lincoln and the MKZ's production now, as Automotive News is reporting that supply should be up to a "normal level" by the end of this month.
