I am selling my 1997 Lexus SC300. The reason I'm selling it is because I need a year-round car that can handle these Minnesota winters. This car has been good to me. There have been no problems since I've had the car in my possession. I've only driven it in the spring and summer seasons and have always kept up with routine maintenance. Other than the cruise control cable needing to be hooked back up, everything on this car works. My brother-in-law removed it when test fitting the turbo.

Quick rundown of the car-

1997 Lexus SC300
It has a black exterior with black leather interior, stored from late fall to mid-spring by myself and the previous owner so it has no rust. It has it's dings here and there on the body, but very minor for a 17 year old car. Front bumper has rock and paint chips which you can see in the pictures.

It was originally an automatic, but was swapped to a 5-speed manual. The transmission is a W58 with an aftermarket 6-puck clutch.

Bought when it had around 275000 miles, but now has 291797. The mileage may seem high, but these 2jz motors are built to last and can take a beating.

Some mods that it has-

18x10 Rota Grid rims/Megan coilovers/LS400 Big Brake Kit with
cross drilled and slotted rotors/HIC rear window visor
Blitz Nur axle back exhaust/Full sound system with Pioneer touch screen/two 10" Kicker Comp series subs/Vibe amp
HID fog 3k /lowbeams 8k (fogs could use new ballasts)

I'm also throwing in an almost complete turbo kit. You can see in the pictures that it comes with a lot of parts like the turbo, exhaust manifold with external wastegate and dump tube, big intercooler and 3 inch piping, downpipe, BOV, AEM wideband gauge, Autometer Boost and Oil gauges, 3 gauge pillar pod, oil tap, and a box with hoses, gaskets, and other misc parts. The only big thing that it's missing is fuel management and small misc items like a couple of gaskets and hoses

Contact me with any questions you may have.

I also have the car for sale in locally and RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME***
The car is ***SOLD AS IS***  and has NO WARRANTIES what so ever
***SHIPPING IS 100% ON THE BUYER to arrange****
I will want a  $500.00  DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF PURCHASE

Toyota develops new pre-collision system with steering assist

Sun, 13 Oct 2013

A number of automakers are working on developing fully autonomous cars, but it looks like the groundwork for such technologies will likely show up first as semi-autonomous systems for both safety and convenience. Following recent announcements from Nissan and Ford in this area, Toyota has now released information for some of its advanced semi-autonomous technologies that could be offered in production cars over the next few years.
On the safety front, Toyota's new pre-collision system with pedestrian-avoidance steering assist is aimed at protecting the folks who aren't in the car. This system combines visual and audible alerts with automatic brake assist and automatic steering. If warnings don't get the driver to slow down, the brake assist kicks in if a collision is very likely, but if that is still not able to avoid the impending collision (and if there is enough room to do so), the car can automatically steer itself around the pedestrian. This sounds most beneficial for last-second dangers such as a person accidently stepping out into the road in front of a car. Toyota hopes to have this technology available to customers by 2015.
The Japanese automaker is also testing a suite of technologies called Automated Highway Driving Assist (AHDA). The key part of this is a new adaptive cruise control system that uses vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications rather than a radar-based system. This cooperative-adaptive cruise control allows vehicles to communicate their acceleration and deceleration data with other cars, which Toyota says this helps to improve fuel efficiency and traffic flow. Also a part of AHDA is the Lane Trace Control feature, which sounds like a next-gen lane keep assist. This system uses cameras, radar and a computer to keep the vehicle in a "smooth driving line" by being able to change steering angle, engine torque and braking force. Toyota says this technology could be in place by the "mid-2010s."

Xcar gets Lexus LFA serviced at TMG

Mon, Mar 30 2015

Toyota has made all manner of vehicles, from sedans and hatchbacks to crossovers and pickup trucks. It's even done a handful of sports cars over the years. But it's only ever done one real supercar, and that was the Lexus LFA. The ten-cylinder supercar was built at the dedicated, purpose-built LFA Works, a facility within Toyota City in Japan that's since moved on to making everything from bicycles to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. But if you were lucky enough to be among the 500 customers to get your hands on an LFA, you may not be inclined to send it back to the factory every time it needs servicing. Especially not if you live in, say, Europe. That's why Toyota Motorsport GmbH was tasked with handling service for the LFA for Europe. The facility in Cologne, Germany, was once home to the automaker's F1 team, now runs its championship-winning endurance racing team and will soon again serve as the home base for its renewed assault on the World Rally Championship. So it's just the type of facility that could handle whatever comes up with Lexus' high-strung exotic, from servicing the V10 engine to repairing the carbon-fiber chassis if need be. After checking out the underground collection in its last episode, the guys at Xcar popped their heads in at the LFA service center. There they spoke with TMG VP Rob Leupen, who seems convinced that Toyota should make a new hybrid supercar. We hope he turns out to be right.

Gazoo heads to the N"urburgring with Lexus LFA Code X

Tue, 14 Jan 2014

You'd be forgiven for thinking just because the Lexus LFA has ended its production run (it's been over a year now) that Toyota would have ceased its development. You'd be forgiven, but Gazoo Racing is here to tell you you'd still be wrong.
One of Toyota's many works racing teams, Gazoo is returning to the 24-hour endurance race at the Nürburgring this year with a trio of entries. One is based on the Toyota GT86 (which we know as the Scion FR-S), and one is essentially the same LFA that it's entered in years past. But the third vehicle is dubbed Code X.
It's also based on the LFA, but its 4.8-liter V10 engine has been bored out to 5.3 liters, raising its output to untold levels. It's got a full carbon-fiber chassis and a range of other enhancements that Gazoo isn't telling us about just yet, but they should turn the LFA Code X from a road-going supercar beyond a racecar and into a rolling research lab. Considering that Gazoo has been racing at the 'Ring since 2007 and fielding versions of the LFA there since 2008, it'll be interesting to see how the Code X version fares.
