The SC400:
Year: 1992
Make: Lexus
Model: SC400
Mileage: 200k~
Title Status: Clear
Transmission: Auto
Current Engine:
1UZ-FE

Extra details: The car RAN and drove excellent and is beautiful on the exterior. I just put a new JVC double din with all new speakers in the car. It also is setup with a 5 channel amp. I have a cheap 10" sub I was gonna put in the factory location, but apparently its an 8". The car has sat for the past month due to my lack of time diagnosing a loss of spark. Cranks fine, can smell fuel. I am guessing it a bad cap/rotor. I just replaced the coolant reservoir as it cracked (guessing the rotors got wet when this happened). Traction control, overdrive and all that works perfect. The transmission mount needs replaced as it has the infamous 2700~ rpm shudder going down the interstate. Shifts fine, 2nd gear shift solenoid was just replaced within the last 6 months. The interior needs some work. Typical bolster wear on the drivers seat (has leather seat covers on it now to prevent any further tearing). Drivers door panel appears to have been taken off a hundred times. Need a new drivers window regulator. Someone prior to me apparently tried to install an sc300 window regulator and it doesn't work. Passenger window works fine. Power tilt works, sunroof works, not sure how to unlock trunk.

The car does NOT run. It will need to be trailered.

The
2JZ-GTE VVTi:

This is an imported 2jzgte auto VVTi with...
  • Tweak'd Performance self contained harness. (This allows the engine to be ran simply by hooking up constant/switched power and a ground. Very simple and effective.)
  • Engine has been in a 300zx and ran just fine.
  • The engine also has driftmotions AC/PS delete pulley/belt on it.
  • I have some of the original equipment, but ask if it will affect your purchase.
  • I have a MAPECU2 setup if you would decide to upgrade the fuel system or turbo.
  • sc300 motor mounts (direct bolt up to sc400 and allow to the installation of the 2jz into an sc400)
  • I will include, basically all you need minus a rear sump oil pan to swap and drive the car with bare essentials.
Below is a link to the video below is a video of the engine running, it didn't have the air meter properly inserted in the intake pipe - hence the stuttering and barely able to stay running.

I will have the 2jzgte, sc400, and all mounts/accessories ready for pickup when this sells.

10 most memorable cars and SUVs of 2019

Tue, Dec 24 2019

It's no surprise that a car reviewer will drive a large number of cars over the course of a year. Indeed, when the clock strikes midnight on Dec 31, I will have driven 75 new cars, trucks and SUV this year (and one old Peugeot) over the course of weekly evaluation loans and first drive events. That sure seems like a lot. Some definitely got more attention than others, and some came and went without leaving much of an impression – I completely forgot I drove a Kia Forte. Yet in the spirit of this day, I thought I'd pick the 10 that I would love to see under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning. You know, just in case you were looking to get me something. I'll also throw in a couple disappointments that were memorable for the wrong reasons. They'd get sent back to the store on Boxing Day. Lexus LC 500 Pictured below and resplendent in its Flare Yellow metallic paint, the car that would reach highest on my list is the divine Lexus LC 500. As a devout lover of GT cars, the LC ticks all the boxes. Muscular and characterful engine? V8, check. Beautifully made and memorable interior? It's gorgeous, to hell with Remote Touch. Check. Comfortable and reasonably practical? Superb seats and, uh, yeah. Makes me want to stand there and stare at it? You bet. Though I long figured my heart would say LC but my head "Porsche 911," after this go-around, that's no longer the case. LC, pretty please. 2020-lexus-lc500-f34-2 View 19 Photos Polestar 1 I actually feel lucky that I got to drive the Polestar 1. Only 150 will be produced each year, and it's a far more special thing than it would initially appear. And that's despite initially appearing to be a beautiful, classic two-door GT car with a roof so rakish it's only possible because it's made of carbon fiber. That itÂ’s a massively powerful plug-in hybrid with more all-electric range than any other PHEV is a thick dollop of whipped cream on a slice of Toscakaka. You know, Swedish dessert, Swedish car. Fine, I'll stick to Ikea references.  Polestar1_Launch_SanFrancisco-0014 View 44 Photos Volvo V60 Cross Country Speaking of Sweden, did I drive this car off the road there? Sure did! And despite this, the V60 Cross Country scratches that certain wagon itch and looks sensational to boot. I wish it were available with the T8 plug-in hybrid powertrain, but it's best not to get greedy at Christmas.

Drifting on a frozen lake with a studded Lexus looks like fun

Fri, 15 Feb 2013

Sometimes you come across a list of ingredients and you don't even need to know what's being made, you just know you need to be there when it's done. So if you saw a recipe for a Vimeo video that was one snow-covered frozen lake, one Lexus IS, four studded tires, two ice fisherman and one guy lounging on a couch, do you think you'd have any questions?
We didn't. The dish was cooked up by the Wide Open Drift Team and KSP Productions, and it's exactly what you'd think it is. Right down to the guy on the couch. We're glad we got to partake, and you can too in the video below.

Lexus still planning seven-seat crossover

Mon, 28 Apr 2014

In case you're thinking, "But Lexus already has a seven-seat crossover in the GX 460," that's actually a proper SUV - the body-on-frame kind with the massive footprint and floaty handling. A report in Automotive News says that Lexus is trying to figure out how to produce a true crossover with space for seven humans, with the options narrowed down to growing the RX (pictured) or sorting out a brand new model.
How badly does the brand want it? Its chief told AN that another row is first on the list of dealer requests, that the offering could be worth 35,000 more sales per year and they don't care if it eats into five-seater RX sales - "We want it." But hey, when 40 percent of monthly sales are made up of the RX, and Lexus moved more than 103,000 of them in 2013, it's understandable that the company wouldn't mind risking a small hit for the chance to increase sales by a third of their current levels.
Toyota applied to trademark the name TX and that's already been mooted in reports as a replacement for the GX, said to end its life in 2016. The latest report, however, suggests that the GX might not go away since it's "highly profitable for the automaker, even at low volumes," and that "TX coding could merely be for a seven-seat variant of the RX 350." AN also wonders if this larger hauler would stay on the recently lengthened Toyota Highlander platform, which offers meager third-row seating, or switch to the rear-wheel-drive platform used by the IS and GS for tauter responsiveness. With Lexus saying it will be at least two years before it could be brought to market, we have a while to wait yet to find out.
