2011 Lexus Rx450h Base Sport Utility 4-door 3.5lmetallic Red Looks New Loaded Op on 2040-cars
Bonita Springs, Florida, United States
I am initial owner. Car purchased in Midwest where we previously lived but taken within days of purchase to Florida our current residence. It has never been exposed to snow or ice or salt. The hybrid system is excellent with great gas mileage even for a car that weighs almost 5000 pounds. It rides like the luxury car that it is not like most SUVs. The original cost of vehicle was $ 56,000 due to all upgrades. Every thing is in perfect functional condition including the heated and AC front seats. I am selling it because we bought a Honda Odyssey van to accommodate all the grand children and children when they visit. Payment should preferably be made through PayPal or guaranteed payment before car and title will be turned over. You are encouraged to inspect this quality vehicle and take it for a drive. From my past experiences with 4WD/AWD this would be an excellent car to combat the snowy Midwest or northeast for anyone who lives there or commutes there from Florida etc .It has been difficult to establish a fair market price for this vehicle so what I have done is to take an average of Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds etc. and set the price as a private sale at $ 36,000 and then subtract the price of $ 1300 for new tires which I would buy if I were to keep the car. Therefore the asking price which you will see reflects that reduction to asking price of $ 34,700. CAUTION; AUTOCHECK REPORT RATING INVALID/SEE ABOVE. THE COLLISION NOTED WAS COSMETIC EVEN THOUGH 4 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AS PROGRAMED TO. NO FRAME OR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE AS A 40 POUND DEER IS NO MATCH FOR 5000 POUND SUV. ALL PARTS REPLACED AT FIVE STAR COLLISION CENTER BY TRAINED /CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS. THE CAR DISPLAYS NO EVIDENCE OF ACCIDENT EITHER BY APPEARANCE RIDE OR DRIVE. THE CAR WAS DRIVABLE AFTER ACCIDENT EXCEPT DAMAGE TO RADIATOR WITH SUBSEQUENT MILD LEAKING OF FLUID DICTATED THAT IT NOT BE DRIVEN HOME TO HAYWARD WISCONSIN. BUT RATHER SAFELY TOWED TO COLLISION CENTER.If you have any questions regarding this car not already described or desire more details of that accident please feel free to contact me through E Bay. Thanks. Dennis

10 automakers sued over keyless ignitions
Thu, Aug 27 2015Keyless ignition has rapidly proliferated throughout the auto industry to become a fairly normal feature on new cars. It's supposed to offer the convenience of keeping the fob in your pocket and just pressing a button to drive away. However, ten major automakers are now being sued in US District Court over claims that the system is dangerous, Reuters reports. The suit alleges that people are forgetting to shut off the engine, and the lack of an idle timer is the cause for 13 deaths by carbon monoxide poisoning and multiple injuries. The suit currently includes 28 plaintiffs, according to Reuters, but the lawyers are asking for class-action status to potentially add many more. The case goes after a major swath of the industry, including BMW, Daimler, FCA, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen, plus their related brands like Acura, Infiniti, Mini, and Lexus. In all, over five million vehicles are affected. The assertion here is that people walk away from their vehicle without shutting it off because they believe the engine shuts off automatically. If parked in a garage, carbon monoxide can build up, leading to poisoning. The lawyers claim automakers know this is a problem and also cite 27 complaints to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration about the issue, according to Reuters. The plaintiffs are asking for an automatic shut-off and damages from the companies. These concerns have come up before, though. Toyota previously faced a lawsuit over a carbon monoxide death after a woman accidentally left her Lexus running. Also earlier this year, GM recalled 64,186 examples of the 2011-2013 Chevrolet Volt because owners weren't shutting them off. The problem resulted in two injuries, and the company released a software update to limit the idling time.
Recharge Wrap-up: Toyota Prius, V earn IIHS awards, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV approved for V2H
Tue, Dec 30 2014The Toyota Prius and Prius V have earned IIHS 2015 Top Safety Pick+ ratings. The Prius V was singled out for its improved performance in the small overlap crash test. Lexus CT models built after September 2014 were also given the distinguished safety rating. In all, eight vehicles from Toyota and Lexus earned Top Safety Pick+ awards, while four more from Toyota and Scion were named Top Safety Picks. Read more in the press release below. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV can now provide power to the home in Japan. The vehicle-to-home capability requires the CHAdeMO quick charging socket and either Mitsubishi's own Smart V2H system, or the EVPower Station or Tsubaki eLINK system. The Outlander PHEV gained vehicle-to-home approval alongside all-electric vehicles because its electric motor doesn't run when used in for this purpose. The system allows owners to power their homes during outages and emergencies, and the Outlander PHEV can also directly power appliances with its 1500W AC100V power feeder. It shows the standard AC connectors for the US and Europe, DC and combination connectors for fast charging and, of course, Tesla's own charging connector for the Model S. It also shows the standard plug types used around the world, which are color coded by country on a world map. See the Electric Vehicle Institute's poster here, or read more at Green Car Reports. Toyota Decks the Halls with IIHS 2015 'Top Safety Pick' Awards Eight Toyota and Lexus Models Earn Institute's Highest Top Safety Pick+ Four Toyota and Scion Vehicles Named Top Safety Picks December 23, 2014 TORRANCE, Calif., Dec. 23, 2014 - On the 12th day of Christmas, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave to Toyota, 12 awards awarding. Ford barely edges surging Chrysler for Canadian sales crown in best year ever
Thu, Jan 8 2015The auto industry in the US showed strong results through much of 2014 with sales regularly growing year-over-year for many brands. That same trend carried over in the Great White North, as well. Canada posted its best numbers ever with 1.85 million units sold, up about 100,000 vehicles over 2013. The country nearly had a new market leader, too. The big winner among our neighbors to the north in 2014 was Ford with 291,951 vehicles sold, up 3 percent from 2013, according to Reuters. That success also handed the company the sales crown for the fifth consecutive year. In large part, the strong result came from the company's popular trucks, which represented about 80 percent of overall sales. "Ford moved into the number one position in September and didn't look back," said a note to clients by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants quoted by Reuters. However, the Blue Oval didn't exactly take an overwhelming lead for the year. The company nearly had to hand over the sales trophy to FCA after the company rallied in the latter part of the year. The Italian-American conglomerate had its best results ever to nip at the Ford's heels and move 290,004 units for 2014, a 12-percent improvement from last year. Jeep especially helped the bottom line with over 50-percent growth, according to Reuters. Only two other brands were able to break the 200,000-vehicle barrier in Canada for 2014. General Motors came in third place overall with 249,800 sales, up 6.3 percent. The combined Toyota and Lexus also barely jumped the hurdle with 200,851 units moved, a 2.8 percent improvement.
